The first hour of the Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team has been posted online, allowing those interested to watch fresh footage from the very start of the game through until the new jukebox puzzle in the town itself. Streamed by the Japanese YouTuber 2Bro, you can catch the full video above. The game actually begins around the 14-minute mark, so feel free to skip ahead for around 80 minutes of footage.

To be clear, this initial stretch of the game formed part of the PS5 demo that out recent Silent Hill 2 Preview is based on. We were able to go deeper into the survival horror experience, touring the Wood Side Apartments. This in-depth look at least gives you the chance to see how the journey into Silent Hill has been expanded, like the sawmill.

"From the famous bathroom scene to the graveyard and then into Silent Hill itself, the PS5 remake commits to the broad strokes of how protagonist James Sunderland makes his way into town, but then deviates from set expectations in the right way: it adds and expands rather than taking anything away," we explained last month. You'll also get to see some combat, other shops not yet depicted in trailers, and a few of the strange masks (like Pyramid Head) that have been put in the PS5 remake.

"While the remake has always been near the top of our most anticipated list for 2024, there were doubts it would come together correctly. Those have been comprehensively addressed by our preview session. Silent Hill 2 plays like a worthy, respectful remake of the PS2 classic, and that alone places it in the upper echelons of the industry. We just have to see the entire thing before we can commit to banging that drum," we concluded.
