As was perhaps expected, Sony will be bringing PS5 Pro to Tokyo Game Show 2024. The exhibition, which runs from 26th to 29th September in Chiba, Japan, will be the first time the souped-up console is publicly playable. Visitors will get to try out a pair of PS5 Pro enhanced titles — Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Gran Turismo 7 — and see how the upcoming machine improves them.
While this will be the main attraction for many attendees, PlayStation's booth will play host to lots of other game demos. On the Japanese PS Blog, Sony has outlined all the games you can check out at its booth. In addition to the aforementioned PS5 Pro stations, the following will be playable:
- Astro Bot
- Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero
- Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
- Dynasty Warriors: Origins
- Infinity Nikki
- Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
- Metaphor: ReFantazio
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- Neva
- Sonic X Shadow Generations
As well as all these playable demos, PlayStation is holding several panels and talks on its stage, highlighting various titles. These include an indie game session with none other than Shuhei Yoshida, a spotlight on Silent Hill 2, and the previously announced special presentation for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Here's the full list, with links to YouTube premieres for each (all times JST):
26th September
- 13:00 to 13:40 – ASTRO BOT PLAY!
- 15:00 to 15:40 – Let’s Play Indie Games with Shuhei Yoshida!
28th September
- 10:30 to 11:10 – Silent Hill 2
- 14:30 to 15:10 – Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
- 16:00 to 16:40 – Metaphor: ReFantazio
29th September

- 12:00 to 12:40 – Monster Hunter Wilds
- 15:00 to 15:40 – Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Honestly fantastic lineup for TGS. Can’t wait for dynasty warriors personally
Nice to see Sony back a TGS and with a strong line up of Japanese games.
No new PS Studios game announcements to look forward to, i suppose...
Metal gear Solid to steal the show for me
@Shinnok789 I mean, they wouldn't announce that they are going to announce them, if there were. But, still, probably not.
This might be the year when Sony somehow manage to announce a game after it is out, at this rate 😂
Where are those „Hotly anticipated games at Sony's booth“?
@Yousef- this is not to be mean, but I am anticipating DW for morbid curiosity's sake. I've always genuinely despised the series, but then 9 came out and crossed over into parody, so I sincerely hope this one is just as terrible for my own purposes. If it's rad and makes fans happy, that's just as good....I guess.
I HOPE IT TELLS THE TALE OF THE YELLOW TURBAN REBELLI-see even the old jokes are tiring.
Can't wait for Death Stranding 2. I'm a recent Kojima convert (only played through MGSV and Death Stranding PS5 edition) - he truly has a unique vision for his style of games.
@Max_the_German That's exactly what I was wondering, but MH Wilds will be there. Them MH folks be crazy.
@Ravix funny yet so sad
@LikelySatan since you already pointed out, no harm in me further acknowledging that this is indeed a pretty bizarre take to have, and one that left me nearly speechless, if not for the self-reminder you do kinda need to have a laugh every now and then
In all fairness to the series itself however, it’s not like it’s a multi billion franchise or anything, it’s a niche Japanese series so it’s already bound to be torn to shreds so if anything, the next game being awesome would be a better conversation piece than it being awful.
@Ravix to be fair, announcing announcements would give them funny points. Especially if they announce announcing the announcements 😂 😂
@Max_the_German My man needs glasses....
Save for Astro (an already released title), not one of these is Sony produced. 🙄
@Yousef- What is your profile pic from? Ty
Wilds will definitely be one of the games that needs Pro the most. Going by how shabby DD 2 was at launch (and kind of still is a bit).
Wilds might even be more taxing.
@TechaNinja Tokiko Tsumura from Buso Renkin, your welcome!
FF9 Remake announcement???
So, if there are no new PS Studios games being showcased at TGS (other than Astro Bot), perhaps the rumored State of Play, supposedly next week will have some announcements or updates on games like Wolverine or Ghost of Tsushima 2?
Dynasty warriors origins has my interest, as long as its technically competent!
Avoiding Refantazio because Atlus/Sega tends to spoil major story beats in presentations/trailers but I’m all here for finding out more about DS2.
The more i see of the Pro. The more I'm tempted to purchase one
I'm excited for dynasty warriors origins
@Yousef- Yeah I'm kidding...kind of. I hope mostly that it's great. I've always wanted to be a fan, but it never clicks. I hear that people say it's a great series to turn off your brain and be a super badass, but I never feel like I'm defeating an army single-handedly. Feels more like stepping on ants.
Team Asobi will show some of the free DLC update which releases this year?
Hoping for that FF9 announcement and maybe Square Enix x Astrobot dlc?
Its shame there is no cabinets in shops anymore where you can actually try things out before you buy them
Wish I could be there, i'd be first in line at the Konami booth, they've gone all out on the immersion with the jungle theme.
