Title Update 2 is now available for Star Wars Outlaws, and Ubisoft appears to have begun meaningfully addressing the most common complaint we've seen: how stealth works. That said, it seems there is more drastic work to be done, with Title Update 4 (21st November) specifically focused on deepening stealth and combat mechanics, so if you've held off this long, it may just be worth holding out.
Regardless, today's patch should hopefully reduce general friction, with "improved stability and performance across all platforms" and "improved animation of Kay's movements" being other standouts. In addition to the more usual patch note suspects like bug fixes and tweaks, the developer highlights changes to enemy AI, pathing, positioning, and detection that should make sneaking about more satisfying. At 3.80 GB on PS5, it's pretty substantial, and if you'd like to peruse the complete list, you can check it out here.
After a less-than-stellar launch, Ubisoft has committed to a rescue roadmap of sorts for the Star Wars title, which has reportedly only moved around a million copies in over a month on the market. Are you playing the long game, potentially picking up Outlaws after a few patches? Let us know in the comments section below.

So they released a stealth update, only to have a more improved stealth update next month?
Man, I thought about picking this game up to try it but Ubisoft's "community" director said it wasn't made for me. Dang, too bad. Oh well, maybe if Ubisoft survives they'll make a game for me. Whatever that means.
@LavenderShroud I dunno if you know anything about development but it’s incredibly difficult to tweak anything to do with a mechanic as universal as stealth without messing up everything else. It makes sense to me why they’re doing it in bits, but this is generally what pre-release is for.
This is easily one of the best Ubisoft and Star Wars games I’ve played.
I bought it with low expectations and have been very pleased with it.
The changes sound more like making stealth easier, even more accessible, not adding depth.
Idk, hopefully it will turn out great overall.
It looks fun still, just repetitive in stealth and gunplay.
Nah, "only fire when I tell you to fire."
I think waiting on this was the right move. The Ubisoft logo was a dead giveaway! Can't fool me!
@tselliot Ubi's director said nothing.
@DennisReynolds Perhaps confusing it with the Acolyte director? I believe she said something along those lines. I don’t remember seeing anyone say that about this game.
this time next year the game will be finished then i will play it
@IamJT @DennisReynolds It’s the curse of anti-woke, you spend so long chasing shadows that eventually you realise you’ve been casting it yourself.
@nessisonett I'm still trying to work out who is meant to have had an issue with Wukong. All I've seen is people saying it's cool to have a game based around Chinese culture for once.
Was it like 2 randos on X who have somehow become the most read people in the world?
@nessisonett Never heard that before but it is brilliant.
The game seems OK for what it is. I'll pick it up in a year when it's cheap and fixed.
@tselliot That sounds interesting, what was the quote exactly? Sounds like the French equivalent of Concord's 'Talentless freaks' moment.
I am about half way through (I think) and loving it.
The one thing I would like changed is when you complete a contract for say the Hutt's which requires you to steal something from say Crimson Dawn, if you successfully complete the mission in and out without being caught you still lose rep with Crimson which is strange as no one saw me and no one other than the Hutt's know it was me, did they grass me up? I doubt it, seems strange. You can easily get rep back up but just a strange one I thought! Fair enough if you get caught but not if you don't - surely!!
Guys, I promise you, If you play ANY game (especially from ubisoft) like a year or two later, you'll genuinely play excellent titles for cheap. Support the devs you trully care about and need it at launch, but other than that man.. Games treat early suppporters like cannon fodder. It's sad
I’ll wait a couple of months before i play the polished bug free version
I might give it a try with Ubisoft +
@ThomasHL Black Myth got some stick because of the Devs but other then that no one has issue with the game itself.
I was actually looking forward to this game. Good thing I can enjoy that feeling for a while longer while Ubi finishes it!
@Petrecis24
Sadly its come to the point where i believe the only devs that deserve my 'support' ie full price launch purchase, are those that can manage a well performing, optimised and mostly bug free game at launch.
You would think that some devs/publishers only want sale price purchases the way they carry on!
I’ve almost finished the game now and am on the last (main) mission. Just a shame that this last mission relies so heavily on stealth, which makes it a bit of a drag. I have around 45 hours in the game and for the most part have enjoyed it. 8/10 from me.
I'm advancing in the game, and it keep getting better the more you play.
I'm glad they're fixing it, I'm looking forward to playing this in about a year's time when it's finished and cheap.
The first time you play a single player game is the first time you play it, I don't see any reason to pay more money to play an inferior version right now.
Are we at this low point that we get roadmaps for patches? Maybe someone at Ubisoft should tell them you only get one first impression and then people move on.
To expensive editions, telling players you don't own anything, and a online connection to activate your game. I think they destroyed their own game.
@Steel76 Was the stealth easier? Or adjustable? I am still unclear on the changes. I have been holding off on getting it. I don't like stealth, and sure don't like re-failing over and over, so I was curious if it was not as big a deal now.
I wish they would just add a stealth difficulty adjustment, easy, normal and hard, or something like that. Ubi often, over time, adds more accessibility and granular difficulty adjustments to its games, so hopefully they'll get there.
@Steel76 Ah that sounds encouraging!
Thanks for the update on the ... er, update! If the game sounds ready after Title Update 4, and the Black Friday price is right, I might give it a try.
Even after the update the game is still a nightmare to play. One detection to alert the Death Troopers and you're already scattering though the whole other side of the map, just to save and get your fast travel back. The game is a mess.
It doesn't look awful. I'll pick up the version of the game that's $20 on Steam with all the updates if they make sure it's Verified for the Deck.
@Mostik Agreed. That would be one legit complaint with the game, as you shouldn't lose rep with the other group if they had no idea you did it. Like you said, you can make it back up, but I've ended up passing on plenty of missions because I knew it would just damage the rep I had with the other group.
So just played for about 40 minutes AFTER the patch. Let's see:
Saw a stormtrooper stuck in a speeder bike on top of a tree.
Was walking in front of crates stacked about 10 feet high and got knocked over by another stormtrooper on a speeder bike that flew over the crates and landed on my head.
Used my grapple hook to climb a cliff, Kay just floated arms down motionless up the cliff with the rope attached to her head. Then fell to the ground when she reached the top.
Found a cave entrance in an Imperial area, where I stayed for over 10 minutes with a pile of dead stormtrooopers I killed a few feet away. Every 25 seconds or so, a stormtrooper would say "There's a dead trooper here! Search the area!" over and over. They never found me, until I got so bored sitting there I went out and blasted them all.
AAAA gaming in 2024.
Great Star Wars game. Really enjoying it.
About 85% complete. 8/10
