The list of all PS5 Pro enhanced games is steadily growing larger as we crawl towards the console's November launch. The latest addition is Sony's own God of War Ragnarok — a pretty obvious candidate, to be fair.
The action RPG has gained the telltale label on PS Store, confirming Santa Monica Studio will be making use of PS5 Pro's advanced hardware.
It already looks fantastic, of course, but we presume Ragnarok will be a good advert for blending a smooth frame rate with 4K visuals. We imagine PSSR, Sony's proprietary upscaling tech, will be able to boost the resolution while the performance remains at 60 frames per second.
More information about how the game will make use of PS5 Pro will surely come between now and 7th November.

Ok the world makes sense now. I was so confused how Ragnarok was not on the initial list of PS5 pro enhanced games. Searched multiple sources looking for it to no avail.
Cyberpunk2077 developers now, thinking they were finally done with the game:🥲
I might finally get it now (been meaning to for over a year)
Yay!!! wonder what the upgrade might be, because, tbf the 40fps mode felt fine, surely they can bump that mode to 60.
Let's hope the character models look better than the Horizon remix.
@Vovander that's the one game I'm really hoping gets a Pro upgrade / update.
@
no
This game looked pretty good at 40fps with VRR - I still have to do new game plus and GOW combat is always fun
@sanderson72 This is just a hardware performance boost, Horizon remade the mocap and by the look of it, it seems way better than the original 🤷🏼♀️
@dirtidISHes I guarantee it will! And W3 most likely afterwards.
In Denmark, PS5pro with a disc drive is €1.000,-
It's just more than I can justify. I could skip the drive, but then I'd be skipping all the games I own on disc. Petty as it may be, I hope this machine fails miserably.
Personally hoping all of the improvements they are making for “Pro” versions means there will also be some trickle down improvements to the base versions. Maybe not in the form of framerate or resolution but UI, menus, etc. I figure they’re spending time updating the game might as well make it better as well.
I think this is the last big game in my backlog, I can wait a little longer.
Another game that already looks amazing on base PS5. Besides, I already have the Platinum. So I don't plan on playing it again until the next God of War is about to release. I'm sure PS6 will be out by then.
@BrettAwesome
Thats like me saying that "I hope PS6 & the next Xbox come out at a higher price than PS5 Pro so all these people cant afford it".
I completely understand not being able to afford/justify the price of Pro, but dont hope for it to fail - let others enjoy it.
From what I have read and listened to, from people who know about Pricing of more advanced tech, Sony appear to have been in a catch 22 situation - Bigger upgrade but even higher price, Lower price but smaller upgrade. It may be true that Sony are likely not subsidising Pro like they did PS5 early on (ie making a loss).
Very glad this game is getting an upgrade, as its one of my favourite games of this gen (and ever).
Though i will be intetested in what they improve as on PS5 it already looks fantastic, runs at 1440p, and more importantly runs at 80-90fps average. This is far better than most games this generation.
Just managed to order a disc drive. Most of the games that are ps5 pro enhanced including this one, I own on disc. I only own 18 discs games (more if you count the ps4 games that instantly upgrade to ps5 version) but own nearly 70 digitally. Therefore this now being one of the day ones has forced my hand into buying the drive ready for day one
@Vovander right! HAHA that is the game that i think would make the most sense to show how good or not good the PS5 Pro is. It’s a game that i think has to happen at some point. Unless they just don’t want to take the time and focus on their new projects.
As a long time hardcore fan of the GOW series. GOWR just didn’t gel with me. The pacing, what maybe i expected it to be possibly, which is a me problem not the dev’s. But i am not sure if i jump back into this on my Pro. I wanted this game to be my standout game and i gave it a 8/10, when i gave the 2018 GOW a 10/10.
@Rich33 It's not really the same because the example you give is referring to the start of a new generation.
I agree with what @BrettAwesome is saying because if the Pro is successful in any way, then mid gen hardware will become the norm. It will also pretty much guarantee that the PS6 will be well in excess of the Pro's price tag - something I don't think any of us want.
@__jamiie the Pro is marketed to a specific and niche audience with expensive TV sets etc, and it's just a premium version of the current PS ecosystem for those who care about the extra juice it can provide.
The PS6, on the other hand, will have to try to address the market at its base trying to attract as many users as it can and will have a price tag more in line with what we saw for the base PS5.
@Nei But that's not what happened with the price of the PS4 Pro and the PS5 base model. This price went up considerably. And considering that people have been complaining for this whole generation that they're disappointed with the difference between this and last gen, I think these concerns are more than justified.
I'm honestly not fussed about many of these first party upgrades; they already look and run great. The one I'm itching to find out about is Cyberpunk. Please, please CDPR, let us know !
@__jamiie
I was just trying to give an equally silly but opposite argument, hence why i put it in quote marks.
I think that mid gen hardware is a very good thing, and much needed to keep a fair proportion of the userbase happy when we get to this point in the generation where the base console just cant keep up (unless the dev is a Sony 1st party).
This part of the userbase, which includes myself, may be the minority, but its loss to either PC or Xbox (if they get more powerful hardware out 1st) would still be very damaging to Sony long term.
Of course, 1 remedy for this is to cut each generation much shorter at 5 years, but again you have the need for more frequent hardware purchases.
I hope that PS6 is going to be priced lower than Pro, but i think we need to be realistic to some degree.
PS6 is not likely to be anywhere near the power jump from 4 to 5 (which was quite large despite disappointment from some), and will rely very much on PSSR - in fact if you read an article from DF, they suggest that without PRO succeeding in this regard, with devs getting plenty of practice with it on PRO, PS6 could be off to a bad start.
I think £600 is very likely for PS6, with or without the success of Pro - people buying base PS5s at scalper prices, and the general trend reducing the price reduction over time for Silicon Chips, have probably sealed this.
We are probably 3-4 years away from PS6, making the Pro even more needed as devs already target powerful PC hardware.
Of course 1 may mitigate the other eg higher price, bigger power difference or visa versa; or longer wait, lower price or more power, but something will have to give.
Is there any word whether game load times will be further improved at all for games? They’re already great on the PS5 but I appreciate any time save and it could push me over the edge for getting the Pro.
You would damn sure hope that of ALL the games that will be PS5 Pro enhanced, their own 1st party studios games would be included.
Pardon my pessimism, but who cares?
It's a game held back by the PS4 and not a true current gen game. Pro is such a snooze
@__jamiie there is a massive difference between developing a console that will sell probably 5-10million in its lifecycle, to a ps6 which Sony would be hoping does close to 100milluon.
Who knows where the world will be in 3-4years time regarding what things cost.
If you don’t want the pro. Ignore it. It’s easy to do.
I'm sure all the people that sit an inch away from the TV screen will notice the difference
@Yozora146_
Why would the touch that mode when presumably the performance mode will be bumped up to 4K and 60fps?
@Chrisathickson not quite what I meant, but the performance mode presumably has lower graphics settings (occlusion, shadow resolution etc) whereas as the 40fps is the best settings the PS5 can do. So if that mode can be reach 40+ already it should be easy to reach max ps5 settings at 60.
@BrettAwesome "Petty as it may be, I hope this machine fails miserably."
I doubt Sony is looking at it as either it fails or succeeds, it's just something extra if people want a little more shine and frames in their games. PS6 will come out on time regardless of how PS5 Pro does.
@Medic_alert I haven't cancelled mine yet I'm thinking about it though ps5 is sound don't really need the pro the money I'll spend can go on the ps6 but like you I've got Drive to sell 🙈
@HonestHick agree with you for the same reasons.
Waiting for the new games.
