This is a pretty neat but predictable feature considering the subject material: upcoming PS5 horror A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will feature an optional microphone toggle, which will detect any ambient sounds you make in real-life and consequently reveal your position in the game. That means any sneezes, coughs, sighs, or sudden interruptions from family members could prove fatal as you play through the campaign.
While we can’t imagine many people will be using this – why would you make the game harder for yourself? – we’re glad developer Stormind Games has gone the extra mile to include it. It reminds us of the motion control feature in Until Dawn which forces you to keep your hands steady in certain moments; an annoying gameplay mechanic, maybe, but it’s always fun to break the fourth wall and bring the game into your home.
