A third PS5 patch focusing on the flawed stealth elements of Star Wars Outlaws has dropped today, with this latest update designed to "give players more flexibility in how they approach situations in addition to tuning enemy AI". Instant fail stealth sections were an issue brought up repeatedly during the launch of the game, and two previous updates have worked to improve them. Now, a third PS5 update that weighs in at 3.48GB makes the way you can tackle certain main missions more flexible.
Update 1.3.0 also works to make riding your speeder a better experience, as now you shouldn't collide with objects quite as much. NPC behaviour during combat is also said to be improved, and the game will auto-save more often during hostile areas in the open world. You can view the complete patch notes through the link.
The lacking stealth elements was one of the poorer things we highlighted in our Star Wars Outlaws PS5 review, which concluded with a 6/10 rating. "Particularly in the early game, stealth sections are rendered an immediate failure if you're spotted, while quests later on demand you prevent the alarm from being raised," we said. "These objectives are far and away the most mind-numbing the game has to offer, but also the most baffling. Star Wars Outlaws has a heavy focus on stealth, but it doesn't let you pick up and hide bodies. You just leave them on the floor, hoping patrolling guards don't spot them."
With a third PS5 update now live, this element of the game should be much improved. Will you give Star Wars Outlaws another chance once its patching phase is over? Let us know in the comments below.

I hope they fixed the Database bug too. It's a great pain to see the log highlight old entries as new all the time. Almost everytime I enter a place I already visited the Database flag the entry as new. very annoying bug!! Just yesterday I was playing and hoping for a patch. Let's see later.
@freddquadros Notifications firing for old information has plagued Ubisoft titles for well over a decade.
@MFTWrecks I played almost all Assassin's Creeds games and 2 Far Cry titles and never saw this happening.
@BookhouseBoy They actually can. In fact, fixing bad mechanics is exactly what patches are for...
Let's Be real here. You are gonna need to slap a heavy discount on this one to get many that didn't hop into this at release, to ever consider doing so now or in the near future.
I played the game and had a lot of fun while doing so, but some issues should have been addressed before launch. However, none of these issues "broke" the game, as some of the YouTube videos claim. I WISH I could have whistled from behind cover and taken out an entire squad of stormtroopers, alas, this did not work.
yes. fix and patch it up. iv almost bought it. thx to all of u early buyers for playing the broken early copy and perfecting it for me.
@BookhouseBoy
CDPR and Hello Games would disagree with you about how much can be fixed with patches. Both games had fundamental game mechanic problems that were fixed over time and are now considered best in class for their genre. However, I do not think Ubisoft is willing or able to spend that kind of money or time to improve this game to that extent.
Yeah I’m gonna have to wait on this one. Flawed stealth can truly ruin a game.
@MikeOrator the stealth missions were tough but not unplayable. In fact, I've always found it funny how you can have instances where you're sneaking through a government facility, get caught, run a certain distance, and the guards just forget about it. I agree that there were parts of the game that were imperfect. But I didn't think the instant-fail stealth portions were it. Hell, the constant "Nix, over there..." was my most frustrating thing about the game and barely any reviewers even touched on that.
@freddquadros It happened all the time to me in AC Origins. And it plagued The Division 1+2.
I am enjoying the game but any improvements are welcome, I am almost done with it but the game really needs is a mini map!!
@Waitinonpsvr2 Not being affected by FOMO has saved me so much time and money in this hobby over the years.
Triple A games being released broken is the majority outcome at this point. It amazes me how many people still buy day 1 and then break out the surprised Pikachu face when it does not work properly.
Every update notes just say things like “tweaked stealth’ or “improved stealth flexibility” with no specific details. I’ve been waiting to get this game, but the vague tweaks don’t really give me an incentive. Or information. Does anyone really know what the new stealth changes really are?
Glad I didn't buy this game lol
I've recently started playing, and it's an ok experience so far. I love Star Wars and can look past many things to be in that world, but I really don't know if I like the game after 15 hours.
@BookhouseBoy
That's kind of what I said. My point is, that it can be done using patches and hotfixes but the developer needs to have the will and resources to do it and I don't think Ubisoft does. Massive Entertainment might have the WILL but Ubisoft certainly will not finance this beyond 4 or 5 months.
@AhmadSumadi
I also did not find the stealth to be an issue. The only issue that I have with every AC or Far Cry game is when I'm infiltrating an enemy camp and one stupid mistake causes the ENTIRE area to sniper-shoot me right in the head from across the map.
@Mostik
Holy Mackeral you are so bang on with this. Opening the full map every time just to see where I needed to drive my speeder on Akiva was by far the worst part of the whole experience with this game.
Cmon Ubi get it down to 20quid.
70 hrs in - could be my SW fan bias, but this game got a bad rap from the get-go and IMO is a bit over the top. No other game captures the SW feeling like Outlaws. Yes, the stealth could be better. Yes, the combat could be better. But the planets, the vistas, the towns all of it just oozes SW-love and for that it's an 8 for me. A mini-map would be much welcomed.
I don't even know if I would try this one for free.
@LiamCroft Haven't purchased or played the game yet. Although this article is informative, hopefully Push Square can update the review after this series of patches is complete.
Any SW game where I have to punch Stromtroopers in the head with my bare fists makes me completely uninterested.
@Waitinonpsvr2 I guarantee you, even if the game was 100% patched, you will still realize the game isn't fun. Even the story or characters wont have you wanting more.
@BookhouseBoy it seems sadly to be the case, i checked on reddit, and you can see they mostly dumbed down further the stealth, taking out alarm panels for npcs to use, less patrols, etc, very unfortunate, means no buy from me until really improved..
Also patch added screen tearing to ps5, messed up hdr, dumbed down the speeder chases, with less crashes, with obstacles and other speeders.
Shows what they are doing is just mindless quick 'fixes', illusion, and pleasing casuals.
Shame.
And the director said before how proud he is of years of work, and will never stop improving it...
Why does anyone buy games at launch???
@Waitinonpsvr2 oh, I assure you, it's not been perfected. Just more glitter on a turd.
@MikeOrator it really is the most frustrating part at least on Tatooine you could just point in the generally direction and get there with it being so flat but Akiva - nightmare! Having tried the patch I haven't noticed much difference but I am pretty OP now anyway and pretty much cleaning up the trophies before I finish it!!!
@Torque Yooooo. Your evil just gnna trash a game iv been waiting to play. But dam 70 is to much. U can find used for 50 now. Iv enjoyed games u guys have trashed before though. What games do u like and what do u say r trash to gauge where ur at.
