Epic Games' Fortnite is either the greatest game ever made or a horrific blight on the minds of impressionable young gamers, depending on who you ask. While we don't feel that strongly one way or the other, one thing is sure: if we'd had unfettered access to this TMNT Islands thing when we were in the grip of '90s Turtle fever, we aren't sure we would have been as curious about other games growing up.
Showing just how broad the Fortnite (and associated Unreal Editor) platform has become in recent years, players can now include official TMNT assets in their own published islands, leading to all kinds of user-created shenanigans. TMNT Dimensions, for example, is a fan-made roguelike beat them up, boasting persistent upgrades and a lair that can be built out between runs. We're open-minded enough to appreciate this new hotbed of creativity, which will be the catalyst for an entirely new generation of developers; we look forward to telling these young whipper snappers all about RPG Maker someday.

Maybe even worse looking turtles than the Michael Bay movies.

I don’t play a lot of creator levels and I’ve never played Roblox but this feels like Fortnite trying to get the generation of gamers who are growing out of Roblox, like Lego Fortnite feels like it’s trying to capture the people who outgrew Minecraft.
My kids play it all the time. It's not an insidious thing in our household though. They ask to buy things in exchange for chores every now and then. Honestly, the game part of the game looks pretty fun. I get it.
Turtle fever?? PFFT! (says the man who's mum and dad braved toys r us for a slice and dice shredder and Raphael ) not my thing really but everyone had different tastes.
I wish they would also release some of these "games inside the game" as a stand alone experience. I am still salty that a 100+ GB download of Fortnite started while the store was looking like you get just Rocket Racing. Which I was interested to try, and still would love to check, out outside of the Fortnite structure.
But it's not a cool move to have a store move with a different game name and icon, and then you end up with Fortnite forever added to your PSN profile.
