An early indie hit in 2024 was Pacific Drive, a unique supernatural survival game that's all about exploring a mysterious exclusion zone in a banged up station wagon.
This premise, the loose story, and involved, engrossing gameplay has made it somewhat of a cult hit, and it's still receiving meaningful updates too.
Now, the game has caught the attention of Atomic Monster — the horror production house founded by horror director, writer, and producer James Wan.
The company has picked up the rights to create a TV adaptation of Pacific Drive, with Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett all serving as executive producers. The series is in the very early stages, and has yet to find a network or streaming service to call home.
Wan is known for various horror movies, most notably Saw, The Conjuring, Insidious, and Malignant.
Few details are known about the Pacific Drive TV series, but we reckon it has potential. Though part of the joy of the game is building and upgrading your car, the atmosphere, world, and radioactive spooks should all translate very nicely.
What are your thoughts on this? Will Pacific Drive make for a good TV show? Don't forget to put the handbrake on in the comments section below.

Wish it would get a 60fps mode on the pro so I can play it
There’s a lot of scope to expand on this, could be interesting. Take it into a very Lost kind of direction.
Returnal deserves it more.
I honestly don’t even think I heard of this game until now? Was it really that big a hit to get a series, or is the bar just set low enough that something only sounds interesting that make it a show? Not that I am ragging on this game.
Still Wakes The Deep should get a TV adaption. Great game, I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Nah it wasn't/isn't a huge hit by any means. But the premise and look are great, and personally i really like the game. I can somehow see how it could become a movie or series. The hype for the game beforehand was semi-big (well, almost semi-big).

Indeed a great game! The atmosphere's amazing. The dialect spoken also amazing! And i love that it takes place in 1975. All around a great experience. Played it on PC Game Pass maxed out (looks amazing!) in 21:9 Ultrawide. Highly recommended.
