Honkai: Star Rail’s anticipated v3.0 update will launch on 15th January, bringing with it a new location named Amphoreus and a fresh storyline. Said plot will be split into an enormous eight parts and will run all year. Let’s hope it’s good, eh?
We won’t get into the full extent of the lore here – you can watch the livestream above for a more detailed summary – but Amphoreus is inspired by Greek and Roman mythology, and is disconnected from the outside universe.
Instead of worshipping Aeons like other characters in the Honkai: Star Rail continuum, Titans are the primary deities in Amphoreus. Some of said gods have triggered a cataclysmic event known as the Black Tide, and as the Astral Express arrives, the world finds itself on the cusp of an apocalypse.
Naturally, the Trailblazer will play a pivotal role in altering the outcome of the planet, and will do so by discovering a new path, named Remembrance. This role differs to other classes in the game, as it revolves around summons.
You’ll unlock a new Remembrance path version of the Trailblazer, but new character Aglaea – a legendary hero and type of tailor – will also belong to this class, duetting with a mannequin known as the Garmentmaker to help boost the heroine’s speed.
She’ll be preceded by Erudition character The Herta in v3.0, who’s able to apply Interpretation status on enemies. These stack and cause damage based on how high the numbers go. Her Ultimate allows her to re-order Interpretation so that the most damage is dealt to the most dangerous enemy.
Both of these new characters sound like they’ll bring interesting new gameplay and team-building possibilities to the title, so we’re excited to roll for both of them.
It should be noted that Amphoreus itself is an entirely new location, and through the power of Remembrance it spans two timelines. This means some gameplay will require you to draw from the past in order to move forward, altering the scene accordingly to navigate onwards.
There’ll obviously be the usual array of Events and activities in addition to the main storyline, including an abundance of free pulls and a complimentary outfit for March 7th for everyone who plays. As previously announced, a new resource will allow you to re-roll stats on Relics, which should come in particularly handy.
We’d be remiss to mention that v3.0 will be a bumper update with a ton of time-limited banners. In phase one you’ll be able to roll for The Herta alongside Feixiao, Jade, and Lingsha. Meanwhile, phase two will lead with Aglaea, who’ll be joined by Robin, Boothill, and Silver Wolf. That’s a devastating selection for cash-strapped wallets.
By the way, if you’re a lapsed Honkai: Star Rail player, you’ll be able to jump directly to the new content. Are you looking forward to the new location and content? Let us know in the comments section below.

I hope this doesn't launch with missing voice lines again... does anyone know if the missing lines have been patched into the last update?
@Mintie It's been a problem in all HoYo's games lately. I think the voice actor strikes are messing up their schedules sadly.
@get2sammyb Yeah, I'm all for the actors doing what they have to to get their due, but the missing lines give me the mental equivalent of a stubbed toe.
This site seems to be too excited with every game released by HoYo, up to the point I wonder these articles are either sponsored or there is addiction to these Gacha system? But why aren't there any news/review related to games like Killing Floor 3 (despite a new trailer in TGA) and my hero academia etc.
@mrbone True, I've always wanted to give this a go but they are such time sinks and once you're in you have to stay otherwise your gimped. Their games look nice but Honkai Impact was way to p2w and Genshin, while defended with "but you can just use the starters" has abysmal rates. The whole point of gachas is the pulling for characters, if you can't reliably do that you may as well spend time playing an actual game that doesn't gate stamina, modes, bosses or events.
Top Tier Hoyo game! I'd say this is how to do a successful live service game. Entertaining, new features every 2 or so updates, cool characters, intriguing lore, generous. Ofc, they have a lot of fix still, but as far as the bar goes, this one is high af
@get2sammyb @Mintie This was particularly evident in the latest Genshin 5.3 mainline quest, which to be honest was pretty epic, but it kinda ruined the mood and took you out of the moment. Instead of thinking about the crescendo to the Natlan story I was partly thinking about whether voice actors will be replaced by AI... and, frankly in a moment of frustration, almost wishing they were at that point!
