Final Fantasy 9 Teases 'Various Projects' to Commemorate 25th Anniversary 1

A remake of Final Fantasy 9 has been rumoured for quite some time, and we may be on the cusp of seeing it revealed.

The speculation originated in the infamous Nvidia leak from a few years ago, which has proven accurate on multiple occasions. Now a new website has launched ahead of the iconic PS1 RPG’s 25th anniversary, teasing “various” projects to commemorate the occasion.

The website focuses on non-gaming collaborations, like new merchandise, an upcoming picture book, and a music album. But it does feel like this is just the tip of the ice berg.

If we were gamblers, which we’re not, we’d put money on some kind of reveal occurring alongside this week’s Nintendo Switch 2 presentation.

Either way, the original game launched on 25th July, 2000, so there’s plenty of time for publisher Square Enix to reveal what it’s got in store.
