Much like its predecessor, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is bringing two classic skateboarding games to modern hardware. And while a different developer has been enlisted to handle this project, the glow up is easy to appreciate.

Here are a bunch of comparison screenshots which pit the grainy originals against their PS5 and PS4 upgrades. The images mostly focus on famous levels like Foundry, Los Angeles, and Canada, but there’s enough here to see that the artstyle has been preserved.

Of course, fans still have concerns. Based on the PS Store pre-order page, the larger levels from THPS4 have been altered to accommodate the two-minute gameplay loop found in previous releases. We’re still waiting for clarification on exactly how this will work, and whether the stages have been redesigned entirely.

Either way, we can take comfort in the artstyle. These remakes certainly capture the feel of the originals, but drag them into the current generation with much more detailed assets. If you look closely, you’ll even spot a Taco Bell!
