Ryozo Tsujimoto, a key producer at Capcom responsible for the Monster Hunter series, has received a big promotion after the company announced a personnel reshuffling. From 1st April, Tsujimoto, who currently serves as "deputy in charge of development divisions", will assume the Chief Product Officer position in charge of all of Capcom's development divisions.
The appointment comes as Yoichi Egawa, Executive Corporate Officer, who currently does the duties of the CPO role, has resigned (thanks, VGC). Egawa was also in charge of Capcom's lucrative pachinko business, although that valuable work will be foisted onto Capcom's COO, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, Ryozo's elder brother. Video games are a family business, after all!
Ryozo Tsujimoto has been with the firm since 1996, and we are certain the appointment is well-deserved. He's been working on the Monster Hunter series for decades now, notably serving as senior producer on the three most recent and highly successful entries: World, Rise, and Wilds.
Are you glad to see Tsujimoto's hard work pay off? Does the prospect of the recent string of Monster Hunter successes spilling over into the rest of Capcom's portfolio fill you with optimism? Let us know in the comments section below.

Not surprised since Wild sold 8 million copies in just 3 days.
I hope his promotion means he take a look and give another chance for niche IP like Breath of Fire, Clock Tower, Viewtiful Joe, God Hand, Haunting Ground, Darkstalkers, or Rival Schools.
@PuppetMaster I’m hoping for haunting ground or clock tower! I love those Games! Glad onimusha is back aswell!
Isn't him the younger son of Capcom's CEO?
He absolutely deserves it though!
@MeerkatSimples Yeah. I feel Capcom needs one more horror game beside RE. So either Haunting Ground or Clock Tower, although they probably gonna revive Dino Crisis.
@puddinggirl He is yes. But nepotism aside, he actually seems like he did a good job, he's been working with MonHun forever now.
@PuppetMaster I really hope they re-evaluate how they look at Viewtiful Joe and God Hand. I'll never understand that out of all of Clover Studios games they only care about Okami, which is the least deserving in my opinion.
Also, Clock Tower isn't owned by Capcom. That decision isn't entirely up to them. Sun Corporation owns it.
