The earlier P5R comes out the better for me, because that means it’ll go on sale earlier. I’m not paying full price for it since I’ve already played the original.
I hope not, it wouldn't be worth it. Isn't the PS5 already predicted to be priced a bit higher than the PS4 was at launch? That could put the Pro around the $600 or $700 range. They'd probably get less good press too, and a Pro released 3 years down the line would likely be more powerful, run better (i.e. not as loud with a lower chance of overheating) and also cost less than if it were launched alongside the regular.
Sooooooo many memories of this game. I remember the demo disc of the Dollet mission where you have Rinoa and she can summon Leviathan, which looked incredible for the time. The hype just built from there. When it finally came out, I loved how you could play around with it and break it, and how you could grind to mega powerful weapons and limit breaks, etc. I think I beat it like ten times or something.
My love for it is more tempered these days, but it is still love. Regardless of any criticism I can give it now, I really respect how it tries to be nothing else but itself. There is no other game quite like it, which can't be said for some of the more revered FF titles. The soundtrack is in the running for best in the series too, and I'd say it's the most distinctive too. Uematsu nailed the military feel. I have replaythroughs of both X and XIII that I need to finish up in time for this. It's been well over 15 years since I last played this, and I'm excited to revisit it.
He's right, and I'm saying this as someone who owns more than one console from both Sony and Nintendo. The Stadia platform itself will only appeal to certain contingents (the most interesting of which to watch are those who don't have a console at all right now, but have the Internet capabilities), especially from the outset, but gradually it will be experimented with and progress will be made. In its own way, it may be what the NES was for the 80s and the PS1 was for the 90s for the 2020s, an eventual new standard of thinking when it comes to making games.
Within the next five years, we will see variations of the PS5, Switch, and the XB1 successor that don't use physical media. They won't be the only options, but they'll be there.
Playing Graces f right now (on a whim chose to start it over Xillia) and I'm surprised by how much I like it. The combat in particular is very enjoyable.
@hydroseptr same here. I'm playing P3FES on PS3 and will get the regular Persona 4 after because I'm not getting a VITA or PSTV for just one title (and I've looked at what else I'd get and didn't find anything other than PS1 games I've already beaten).
Atlus is one of the reasons I'll never be with Sony or Nintendo exclusively.
If the PS5 is coming out in the first half of next year, I think they will announce the date towards the end of the year, along with the confirmation of upcoming titles that will be crossgen (TLOUII, DS).
Haha just yesterday I was looking at the MGS collection on ebay, but decided to hold off just in case they added it to PSNow given how they keep pumping the hype up for DS.
Yeah most places outside metropolitan and suburban areas (that also have internet connections above a certain level) won't be able to do streaming-only that soon, and Sony won't want to knowingly shrink their pool of potentials.
I can see a cheaper redesign that is streaming-only come out halfway into the PS5 cycle though.
Really excited for all three! I loved the Trails In The Sky games (played the first two, and will watch a playthough of the third since I don't have a PC).
Was on the fence, but the reviews put me over the edge and I pre-ordered it last night. Haven't started yet because the notes about the long intro made me want to give it proper time rather than playing for an hour and then going to sleep. I never actually played the first one straight through (a friend's house I used to frequent over a summer seven years ago when I had no consoles had it, and I'd play in spurts), but that Maya Angelou quote about remembering how they made you feel versus what they said or did fits for my experience. I really really enjoyed playing the first one when I did.

Re: Rumour: Persona 5 Royal Releases In the Same Month as Final Fantasy VII Remake

I preordered VIIR the week it was put up.
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS4 Box Art Warns Us Not to Get on Ellie's Bad Side
I actually love the box art. It’s very simple, but it communicates a the complex theme of hate very well.
Re: Poll: Are You Hyped for The Last of Us 2's Return?
I still need to play the first one, but Naughty Dog = Auto Hype.
Re: Utawarerumono: Zan - A Hack and Slash Retelling That Feels a Little Flat
Not interested in this one, but I'm keeping an eye out for when a release date is announced for Prelude To The Fallen.

Re: Klonoa and Mr. Driller Remasters are Coming Soon, Bandai Namco Trademarks Confirm
The ending of the first Klonoa game traumatized me as a child. Today, I’d see the flaws with it very clearly and offer criticism. But back then, whew.
Fun times though, I’d pick up a remaster.
Re: Feature: PS5 Remasters and Remakes We Want
I've been wanting Nemesis since I first saw the RE2 Remake screenshots. All that detail and resolution following after you.
Red Dead I can definitely see, but not until we're quite deep into the next generation.
I also want them to bundle all 3 FFXIII games and set them to 60 fps.
Re: SEGA 'Not Sure' If Yakuza Ishin's Feudal Japan Setting Would Appeal to Western Gamers
Someone needs to direct them to Sekiro’s sales. That all happened this year.

Re: Sony Buys Spider-Man PS4, Ratchet & Clank Developer Insomniac Games
Incredible. Still surprised, but even more excited for future output now.
Re: Catherine: Full Body Demo Struts onto PS4
Definitely checking this out.
Re: Bonkers Rumour Suggests That From Software Is Working with George R.R. Martin on New Game
The FFXV development time would be nothing compared to this.
Re: Kojima Plays Death Stranding on PS4 Every Day
Pressing a button to play a cutscene isn’t really what I’d consider gameplay, but I’m still interested in this project.
Re: Square Enix Documentary Goes In-Depth on the Best Final Fantasy Game (That's IX, FYI)
My ideal FFIX documentary is a Behind The Music style one centering on Necron, but I'll definitely watch this too.

Re: Turn Based 3DS JRPG The Alliance Alive Makes the Jump to PS4 Later This Year
Got it recently enough for 3DS that I'm not going to double dip, but if you like JRPGs from the PS1 era, I'd definitely recommend it.
Re: Shenmue III Finally Looks Like a Real Video Game
I haven't played the first two, but that this is real makes me dream about Mega Man Legends 3.
Re: Incoming Tales of Vesperia Patch Looks to Fix a Few Standout Bugs on PS4

Still holding off on Vesperia until a price drop.

Just working through my backlog as I wait for Tales of Vesperia to appear in one of these.

Re: Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition - Still One of the Very Best Tales Games
If there's one new game I might jump on before it goes on sale, it's this one, never played it then. I'm finishing up Symphonia on Gamecube right now.
Re: MediEvil PS4 Is a Full Remake, Says Shawn Layden
Loved the original, definitely going to get this.
A LOD remake would be welcome too, though they'd need to spruce up the battle mechanics quite a bit.
