Re: Minecraft Finds Refuge on the PS3 Prior to Christmas

@rjejr There's a difference between Minecraft and yearly installments, like CoD and the others you listed. First off, Minecraft is one of those games that probably won't get a sequel. The reason why those yearly games drop in price is because who would pay the same price for an older product when you can buy the newer one for the same. Also, you can say it's a 18 month old port, but it really isn't. Hard to explain that part. The 360 version is still the same price as it was when it launched and there wouldn't be any reason to price the PS versions any different.

I don't think that Lightning Returns selling that few spells doom for the Final Fantasy brand. It's the second spin-off of a game that no one wants (well, obviously people are buying it, so someone wants it, but you get what I mean) and the whole 13-series are sub-par at best (for a FF game). I would bet that Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD will outsell Lightning Returns. But, y'know, if FF 15 ends up like crap, then oh well, it was a great franchise while it lasted.

When you really think about it, Sony did a great job at building up the hype. They kept everyone on their toes on the days following the event. I'll actually be surprised if MS doesn't do a recap of their 2 systems similar to what Sony did. Well, they'll have to do something if they want non hardcore gamers to remember about their event (Maybe #Xboxmemories, lol I got nothing).
