Re: You Can Download Free DLC for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Right Now

Gemuarto

@JaxonH It's not a demo. It is selfcontent, standalone little game. Demo designed as little game, if you like that better. And I never played any demo for 20 hours, and I played for 20 hours just for trophies. And I never play for trophies if I don't like something. But you really need to collect and listen to all tapes, and complete all missions to understand that this is not just a demo.

Re: Review: Child of Light (PlayStation 4)

@get2sammyb Unplayable - opinion. Good - fact =). Great - opinion. This game really has some flaws as JRPG. And because of that I think that it's always be an opinion, that it's a great game and instant classic. I just thought that in reviews people always try to judge games from different points of view. I can easily call Toukiden - instant classic, but I really see it's flaws. So Mat doesn't see Child of Light flaws? Or think that they don't matter because game is cheap? OK! =)

Re: Review: Child of Light (PlayStation 4)

Gemuarto

@get2sammyb Why are you telling me this? And why should I care? To tell you the truth, I made some conclusions about author and don't care about this discussion or his opinion on games anymore. He was arrogant, too. It's my opinion and everyone to his own, right?

But this game is far from being instant classic or even must play. And it's a fact, not opinion. It will never become as famous as Braid. And as JRPG it is pretty medicore. It's a fact, too.

One of my friends who plays jrpg for 20 years already, told that this game is unplayable. I think so, too. Another friend told that it's a commn game and there is nothing great about it. I am a member of community of jrpg fans and nobody in that group told that game is great. And I agree. It's just another game from Ubisoft, it's not bad, but not great also. That's my opinion. And somehow, this article is really insulting for me. Maybe because I could buy bad game because of it =(.

But don't get me wrong, I think Mat is a nice guy =). And have no grudge or something against him =). But your comment, Sammy, was pointless. I really didn't plan to continue that pointless discussion. My english skills are pretty limited to properly explain my point in situation like that, anyway.

@Chris1975 If you give someone advices, why not follow them for yourself? =)

@MatGrowcott Medicore and generic battle system is medicore and generic battle system. You can call it not medicore, because you had very little experience with JRPGs, but it's medicore by any JRPG standarts. And any japanese game with battle system like that will never have more than 7 on any site. And you tell me that it's OK, because it is an indie game. But should we give indies excuses for things like that. No way.

And to tell you the truth. This game is not indie at all. It is just little commercial game. Because if you look at it, you'll see, that it is made from rules taken from ubi's book of commercial game design and ideas stolen from JRPGs. And it is made to make Ubi's image less greedy and pragmatic, more creative.

And you know, I think that I am not the only one. A lot of people will feel bad about generic, cheap and predictable parts of this game. So, I think it's just not honest to give it so much praise, to not consider in review their opinions.

Re: Review: Child of Light (PlayStation 4)

Gemuarto

@MatGrowcott I didn't expect anything, to tell you the truth. You can tell about my expectations whatever you want =). But gameplay in this game is generic and medicore, even if all indies must be generic and medicore. You know, you can't deny gameplay, when you review games. And art isn't something beyond any imagination, or whatever. There are games with better art... If they've tried to make art + story game, like Thomas Was Alone, why did they made those boring meaningless battles and RPG elements? To make game longer?

Re: Review: Child of Light (PlayStation 4)

Gemuarto

@MatGrowcott Yeah, it's boring platformer or bad JRPG. Did you ever played Valkyrie Profile 1 or 2? They were all this game is, but on higher level.

And, in this game, everything except art and maybe music feels empty and generic. But art and music in VP were better, anyway.

Re: This Freedom Wars Footage Raises Plenty of Questions

Gemuarto

@BornOfEvil Guy who controls titan and want to punish humanity. And that fight in half destroyed city. Also, those victims in monsters,. Humanity on the edge of destruction. Thorns. All this taken from Shingeki no Kyoujin or at least looks like it. Also, one of the main story themes of Shingeki no Kyoujin is wish for freedom and fear to take it and meaning of freedom as a whole.I have Shingeki no Kyoujin vibes from that game, one way or another. Code GEAs is very different story and have more common things with Mirai Nikki or Death Note, if you ask me. With anime about mind games =)). But, yeah, that girl... Don't remember name of witch from Code GEAS =). But that girl resembles her. But it's good that developers took ideas from great anime like that. And not from some harem crap =).

Re: Review: Child of Light (PlayStation 4)

Played demo and must say, that this game is very brilliant bla... bla... bla crap. Very wrong and bad game. As all games from Ubisoft, anyway. I can imagine myself playing it for free, just to check it out. But pay for this crap - no thank you. And I don't know about you, guys, but I think that there is nothing creative in this game. Nothing at all. And because developers were so concerned about art and style, they forgot about such things as believeable world and immersion. World is so empty, I felt like I was scrolling through some medicore gallery on smartphone. Meh... another stupid crap from Ubisoft. very glad that they've put demo on PSN...

Re: Is Lords of the Fallen the PS4's Answer to Dark Souls?

Gemuarto

@tenderbeefcake Didn't play Duck Souls, but Demon's Souls was pretty easy game. I really can't understand why people call it hard. It's a lie, that it's hard. They just don't understand it's mechanics. It was funny when I started to play Demon's Souls and was waiting for super hardcore and then beat first 3 or 4 bosses from first try. It was pure mind game for me, never used my action skills, except on couple of bosses. And one stupid level with very cheap difficulty. Don't listen to everyone, DS is just a trend. In truth all DS games are medicore. And it's not difficulty that makes them boring, but gameplay. It is very repetative and has very basic exploring and RPG system and all that because developers were trying to make online game at the first place. Look at the structure of levels in Demons' Souls. They are 100% like in Phantasy Star Online or Monster Hunter, meh. If you want really cool deep single player game from From Software, play King's Field 4. It's pure gem of PS2 era.

Re: Japan Keeps on Giving as Tales of Hearts R is Confirmed for a Western Vita Release

Gemuarto

@Subie98 Innocence R and Hearts R are pretty low budget games. I know that all last Tales of are low budget, but they look like really niche games. The only normal budget thing about them are voices of famous seiyu, maybe even actors and singers =))...And they are made by Alfa Systems... as far as i know. I mean, you don't lose much if you skip them. And on consoles they will look pretty out of place, more than cheap, very very very low budget.

Re: Japan Keeps on Giving as Tales of Hearts R is Confirmed for a Western Vita Release

Gemuarto

I played Tales of Innocence R and think that it is really great game =(. At least in terms of story and battle system. Didn't like Tales of hearts R demo, though. Sad that west will never see Innocence =))... It's really one of my favourites, even if it feels that it has very low budget. I liked characters ans story and battle system is much better than in Xilia or Tales of Graces F, in my opinion, because it feels more like Star Ocean =)..

Re: You'll Never Earn The Last of Us' Latest Single Player Trophy

Gemuarto

I really hate when developers add trophies after launch of the game. Also, hardest difficulty in TLoU felt easier than hard. Don't know why O__O... maybe because I knew all ins and outs. So, I don't think that this will be really hard =).

And I don't know why anybody need to worry about stupid trophies in ND's games. I still don't know why I beat platinum out of TLoU.... Those MP trophies were pain in the ass. And also I hate post launch DLC trophies. With them, you never can be sure if you beat 100% out of the game =( Trophies have really long way before them, to become complete. Now trophies are total mess and full of stupidity.

Re: Weirdness: Sony's Snazzy 4K Media Player Looks Similar to a Certain Console

Gemuarto

@moomoo @Scollurio I really think that 32 inch displays are the biggest thing on wich 1080p doesn't look ugly. Everything bigger need better resolution. It's a fact =). Even 32 is too big for 1080p. 27 is the border. So, I think that 4K is a must for big displays. Hope Sony will make PS4K to use with them =). I am speaking about gaming =). For movies 1080p is OK, even on 60 inch displays =). Not OK, but ok...

Re: Drinkbox: People Don't Understand the Purchasing Power of PS Vita Owners

Gemuarto

I think I didn't buy any games for Vita this year, thanks to PS4, it took a lot of my game's budget and time. And now I am playing Destiny of Spirits for free =)))... And I have some backlog on PS+ and need to finish off some games like Persona 4, for example..... LOL. And funny thing is, almost every game I bought on PSV appeared on PS+ =))). so, I decided to wait untill PS+ or some tasty sales before buying anything for Vita. I even didn't bought Tearaway and Ys =). And Ys was the reason I bought Vita at the first place =). But I'll buy them in the future. tearaway for 10$ and Ys for 20$ =))). I can buy them now for that money from fellow gamers, but I prefere digital, so....
