Re: Elden Ring (PS5) - Likely Another FromSoftware Great

NightMiroir

@Divergent95 I'm a huge fan of Demon Soul, Dark soul, Bloodborne and Sekiro, played them all AND I totally agree that some accessibility should be granted to this kind of games. I just want more people to be able to play and enjoy these games with us !

It's a shame more players can't enjoy these games with us, because of difficulty (not all players have the time to "git good" because yeah, it takes time, and when you work, have a family, and actually want to play and/or have other hobbies it can be pretty time consuming)

@Svark Hi ! I played it, and it was not bad per see but not good ever. Gameplay was interesting at first, you had to choose the action of all your characters and you could see how it would go (will it be blocked, will it create a combo, could you more damage like this or like that ?) but it was LONG ! There was a lot of combat (not random, you could see the enemy, but sometimes space was so packed you could not avoid combat) and this style of combat was way too long for every battle.

Story was ok, characters were interesting but their individual story were not always really exploited. Dungeons were boring (huge corridors with different theme, nothing interesting) sidequests were awful (fetch quests, "take this enemy down" quest, nothing interesting or especially rewarding). This game was saved, in my opinion, by the somewhat intriguing story (nothing crazy but good enough) and characters.

The plot was EXACTLY the same as this one : virtual idol in a virtual world, where people want to escape reality, then the main character say "nah, let's return to the real world" even if they don't remember why they would escape their reality in the first place.

I'll wait and see for this one, I guess : if the combats are no better, then it will be a big no for me (I don't want to have to bump into an enemy every two meters, have the combat lasting some long minutes because of the system, then run like crazy in every dungeons just to avoid encounters haha)

Re: Almost Half of PlayStation Gamers Are Women

NightMiroir

Well, good for us.! It's always good to see more people enjoy the hobby we like, and as a girl I'm always happy to be able to discuss games with other girls. What I don't always understand is the fact that, when we talk about girl gamers we always have to talk about "strong females in video games". Don't get me wrong, I like a strong heroine, but I will not be disappointed if I can't play as a woman (I like playing as Kratos, Cloud or Geralt like any gamer would!)

Some male pass as female in games, and it's also true for female who pass as male : heck, I play as Male Eivor (love me some badass burly viking, and his voice! ) and one of my male friend play as female Eivor. What would be interesting to talk about is things like fanservice (is it more equally oriented than in the past, to also cater to the "41%" women gamers? Or can the male/female hero appeal to women and men alike?) because as genre go, I'm not sure we can really have a distinction between "girl game" and "boy game"

The universe and story seem pretty interesting but I just played the prologue (ps4 slim) : my V clipped through the floor, Jackie clipped through walls and, one memorable time, the elevator. I was always naked when looking at a mirror and "making face" was always resulting in my V staring creepily at me, and I was a little afraid I will not be able to continue when, at the beginning when Jackie is waiting for you to go out of your flat, the quest maker will not registered my presence (I just spinned around it for 5 long minutes when it finally registered my presence)

I could have continue the game, but my backlog is as long as my arm so I decided to wait. I will go back when 1) the game will be less buggy and/or 2) when I'll bought a ps5 in a year or two

It runs well on a base PS4 ( it does the work, and as I don't have a PC I'm used to have game which are not at 60fps or this kind of thing). A little slow, especially for the loading time, but heh there is worse !

I'm glad for the ps5 upgrade, this game should be played by more people !

@BloodNinja I feel a little bit jealous, can I be ninja approved too, please ?
