Re: PS5 Is 'The Most Exciting Hardware in 20 Years'

Real_Obsi

What a hysterical line.

Another iterative "Upgrade"... Half a grand and under the curve of current PC gaming tech and utterly unecessary since streaming is now an entirely viable replacement...

I'd say this is the very least exciting edition. There is nothing to be in anticipation of. Nothing is promised or given. It's just more cost.

Re: Talking Point: Why Isn't Sony Saying More About PS5?

Real_Obsi

They've seen that saying less gets better results when announced.

If they wait too long there may not be a market for gaming hardware any more 😆

Seriously, though, I do not care one bit what exclusives they gain. Unless they have a true hardware inovation available I am very happy with Stadia from here on in.

Re: Talking Point: PS5 Could Be Delayed, And We May Have to Accept That

Real_Obsi

Scrap the whole bonkers idea and focus on streaming. I'd be more than happy buying exclusives from their platform, if they can sort out PS Now's rather sluggish responses, and even subbing for perks but when I've got the option to play games without buying a pricey console?... Well I'm sorry I just don't get the point tbh.

Re: PS5 Will Ship 6 Million Units in Just a Few Months, Analyst Predicts

Real_Obsi

Well of course it will.
New ideas take a long time to sink in for normies.

You'll regret it. A year or two and you'll be wondering if the occasional exclusive was really worth a wopping £500 investment.

Streaming is moving fast guys. The only reason this Holiday 2020 system is being rushed is due to this... They know they don't have time t waste. They want to sell this to you NOW or you'll, likely, be questioning the point of it by Christmas.

Re: Sony Wants to Know if You Want PS4 Remote Play on Nintendo Switch, Portable DualShock Controller

Real_Obsi

More expense, more proprietary hardware... They're running in the opposite direction of all trends... You all have a perfectly great portable, internet connected, screen.
Sony, however, don't have the infrastructure of Google and can't make a streaming service half as good... So this is their solution. Buy yet more hardware and screens for the job in order to do it offline and downloaded...
They're desperate. They don't know what to do.

Re: Yeah, That Rumoured 5th February PS5 Reveal Event Ain't Happening

Real_Obsi

You may dismiss it but I give it 2 years maximum and you'll all be streaming half your collection and lamenting the purchase of a PS5. Or, very likely, a quantity will be very angrily digging in and insisting download and playing native is best... Just as you did (and a few still do) about physical... Despite the vast majority of your game being updates and patches 🤣

Re: Yeah, That Rumoured 5th February PS5 Reveal Event Ain't Happening

Real_Obsi

Big surprise there.
I mean... They have to run around like headless chickens and formulate some reason for you all to buy a powerful console while, at the same time, also push a competent streaming platform and justify you buying that power when you have absolutely no need for it...
It's a tricky one
.....🤣

Re: Bluepoint Games' PS5 Project 'Aims to Define the Visual Benchmark' for Next-Gen

Real_Obsi

But we can never trust them to produce what they show in these demos in the final product anyway.
Games demos already look no better or worse than what they show here and yet somehow we expect this new £500 box to deliver where current tech has not?
I don't doubt there is some measure of improvement but do we need it this early? No! Is the improvement worth the money? Again no! ... We're being wripped off.
I'm moving to Stadia and done with Playstation at this point.

Re: Poll: How Much Does PS5 Backwards Compatibility Matter to You?

Real_Obsi

No intention of buying one at this stage. I have a maddening amount of titles to catch up on. I have a cheaper alternative for non PS5 exclusives and (unless theres some serious price drop and absolute must have titles) really just can't justify shelling out for yet another minutely iterative device.
I am officially done.
They've taken the piss one time too many.
We have a better option now.

Re: Sony and PlayStation Will Not Be at E3 2020

Real_Obsi

What drugs is this writer on? "Its influence has waned"?
Not at all!
You're all talking about it aren't you?
I vividly recall a LOT of talk about Nintendo stepping down being a step backwards. Now it conveniently isn't? 🤣
You will ALL be watching the show with or without Sony.
It's about the games and developers, not the machines...
If anything has waned it's people's taste for upgrades and constant expense.
We want the games. We don't want to have to keep spending a ransom just to be able to play them.

Re: There Will Be Exclusives You Can Only Play on PS5

Real_Obsi

@Porco well PS now sucks, i would agree.. i gave the trial a go. The latency was very noticeable and artefacts and juddering were frequent (the same as remote play which is on your own internet upload instead of their service) ... Stadia, on the same internet connection, works great for me. I only use my Pro when i have to. Ive a few games i want to finish... I wont be buying a PS5 though. Keep the exclusives. If Sony dont fall in line with trends itll be very tempoaray exclusives i can promise you.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PlayStation Plus Games for January 2020?

Real_Obsi

Uncharted collection is quite good. I played most of it and already own it.
Goat Simulator, however, is an utter insult.
Pointless flapping about. Originally a joke PC "game" meant for a couple of quid. Why it came to console is beyond me.
Resenting PSPlus more than ever right now. Very little on the subscription feels worth while now yet I need it for Monster Hunter Multiplayer and ONLY that.
How about dropping Multiplayer from the sub now eh Sony?

Re: Xbox Game Pass Adds GTA5 the Day After It Leaves PS Now

Real_Obsi

Games leave the service?... Well now I definitely know buffet subscriptions aren't for me. Even if they got the quality of the streams sorted out, this whole model of titles popping in and out seems very unappealing. Not to mention the sheer volume of tat among the few good games.

Re: Soapbox: Sony's First-Party Lineup Looks Sublime in 2020

Real_Obsi

It looks Dark, Dismal and Depressing to me.
You just like what you like but I think Stadia came at the right time for me. Better cost and games more suited to my taste. Less... distopia...
It's been done to DEATH now.
And let's be honest, life's getting to that point already, we don't need it in our games too.

Re: E3 2019: Final Fantasy VII Remake Is Spread Across Two Discs, and That's Just Midgar

Real_Obsi

Two Blu-ray disks...
After all the incredible, long, and detailed experiences we've played on the PS4 We are supposed to accept that the Midgar content alone covers two whole disks?...
They're lying.
I think I know why too.
Ok remember being very surprised I had only just started the game once I got out of Midgar... How would they create that feeling again when many of us know the plot?
Though it may not be the entire story I'm willing to bet money it goes all the way up to... Oooh... Some kind of tragedy I expect.

Re: PS5 Is the Easiest Console Ever to Develop for Allegedly

Real_Obsi

Easy because it is literally an upgraded PS4.
You are all being royally had.
And when they move to streaming within this systems term and you all get lured into buying a bunch of your titles through their own walled garden that requires the latest PSwhatever to use it... you will all wonder why you spent £500 on a system when you could have spent nothing, used Stadia Base and be able to play your games on almost any screen with an internet connection and never ever have to worry about compatibility or upgrades ever again. Instead... you all jump on the silly band wagon and hate... your poor wallets.

Re: PS5 Controller Patent Potentially Explains DualShock 4's Back Button Attachment

Real_Obsi

More and more this PS5 is looking to be a subtle improvement and not a major upgrade. More power but no change.
Fine by me.
And pointless.
Very likely you'll have some dual compatability titles (with a suitably jarring downgrade for the PS4 version to encourage you to upgrade) with more PS5 exclusives later as the power required becomes PS4 prohibitive.
I am DONE being played by "upgrades". No more.
I would rather do streaming and play on anything. After using Stadia I see no sense spending 100s on hardware ever again.
