Can't believe it either, I wonder if TheGeofront are getting paid for their Translation. I doubt it. If I had to guess, they won't get a penny, unless they are included in the actual work that is coming.
Frankly I am disappointed that they won't have A western voiceover for A western release. Sounds to me like they are using a fan community text translation, and re-releasing the same game otherwise. Sounds like a money grab. IDK though probably wont buy them until they are reduced in value SIGNIFICANTLY.

A game could be open world so you can explore and enjoy the amazing virtual world that was created for you, without having tons of annoying fetch quests that other stupid stuff like a lot of the games that are open world.
You can Explore AN OPEN WORLD and then go back to where the compass (example) points you and continue on your "close to linear Story spot for that point in the game"
A linear game means you can ONLY go where the story wants you... That's it

It would not be hard to make an open world game, where you could go anywhere you want it for the most part which would make it open world, but still have a linear story where it brought you through everything and some cool side quests and stuff without being overly fetchy and wild... After all THE ONLY THING "Open world" means is you're free to explore and not stuck where the story wants you...

There's a big difference between a properly done open world game in a ***** open world game with stupid press that they had to do as filler because they couldn't otherwise create a good game
An Open world would make Mafia DE AWESOME. I want the game.. I hope they didn't ruin it by going linear.. Linear sucks with 3rd person, action, adventure, dramas... Eww
If they know what's best for their ratings, it will be as open as possible..

However they are NOT even close to that point - at this point if Sony chose not to do it it would be by choice. Whether to save money purely for extra greedy profit, or to keep sales on ps4's for the few people who still want to play, either are unacceptable IMO. That's it..
As far as what you spoke of / how I knew you understood the whole lingo, yes it is hard to properly emulate another architecture - which is why it is hard to get SOME consoles "emulators and roms" to run smooth even on SUPREMELY powerful PC'S.. It's just a PITA..

@NotSmartEnough if people own a physical disc they should still be able to play it - however I am more worried about my ps4 titles after my ps4 craps the bed - I shouldn't have to pay for a service to play games I own a copy of, when the next gen console is capable of playing them, at 1/4 of it's power, and with it's current promised specs.... Period.
That is why I (personally) want BC, its better......just me
I think panicking is just a more acceptable way to say that some people are freaking TF out, while others would be completely LIVID if they didn't provide full BC.. It has been said time and time again the only reason they didn't do it ps3 -> ps4 is almost SOLEY due to different architecture. Look to the PC why can games almost always play? (If hardware is powerful enough) Same architecture.........simple. Well they finally went and did it, they are keeping the architecture base similiar to that of the Ps4. LEAVING THEM ZERO EXCUSES, when I insert a hard copy blue ray ps4 game into the ps5 it should play.
I have preferred Sony for generations, (for me) ps4 was a no brainer, just search Google to see the amount of exclusive titles compared to xbox one, thats why I choose ps4. It was in reality the clear winner, period. However if they don't make it so I can play all of (a damn good amount at least) my ps4 titles on the ps5 (when my ps4 croak, and it will) then they better hope ps5 has a TON OF exclusives or I Will never buy a Sony console again, they keep screwing us over and I won't have it anymore.
Straight to Series X if they dont step up their game. I know I am not alone. Hell I won't be buying it till probably the end of 2021 anyways. So I'll time to research whether they deserve my money.

Just another example of Capitalism not caring about the little guy, whether OR NOT said "little guy" happened part of a group that has made said "large company" billions in profits. It is never enough. Anything to make 10 bucks instead of 1 buck, or loose 12 cents instead of 50 cents.
This is FAR FROM a good example of course. But it is never EVER EVER EVER about the customer anymore. Publicly sure, visibly yeah of course they wrote articles and make announcements. But in truth, they would TRADE A HANDLEFUL OF CUSTOMERS LIVES for a few million dollars, with NOT A CARE in the world. For the greater good (of the company) right?? It is becoming more and more "profit over customer satisfaction".. It has been for a while, and WILL keep getting worse unless the extremely improbable happens - people stick together and stand up for themselves. Yeah....exactly.. As I said.. Extremely improbable. Why? Simple.. People (most likely including YOU) are brainwashed.
Everything from In-APP purchases To pay to acquire add-ons AND DLC'S that should ALREADY have been in the product from the start, or from pre-order bonuses to going digital from physical for games. It's COMPLETELY ALL ABOUT profit.. And that is it. It is not about rewarding us. It is also not about ease of use, It is ONLY about profit.
But people are stick in their ways so there is no hope, I don't know why I bother reminding people hpw far gone they are anymore. They don't care. Soon enough everyone will be regularily paying $99.99 for a STANDARD EDITION game, rather than 59.99. And EVERY game will start having pay to access add-ons. Just you wait you'll see.. But you'll be happy and thinking "its okay"..
And I (and others like me) am STUCK and forced to go along with it, or stop gaming.. Oh well..
