@MrPeanutbutterz Super Street Fighter 6 is the rumor, the extra characters thing is just my personal copium. In all likelihood, its just going to be SF6's equivalent of SF5 arcade edition. I'm just praying that this isn't going to be like SF5 where we were still getting major faces in the 5th season of DLC, as much as I know that that's probably not going to happen. I want some weirdos, bring back Eagle or Remy or something, someone nobody is going is going to expect. But no, its inevitably going to be big faces all the way down.
@nomither6 That, I'll pretty much give you. I'd still say they aren't exactly randoms due to the CvS duology giving them some defined history with the SF cast, but yeah. And again, I completely get it; with a cast as big as Street Fighter's, there are plenty of characters that people want that'll probably never get in, when Terry and Mai did, and that does suck. I just hope that the rumored Super Street Fighter 6 comes with a few new non-DLC characters of its own; it'd at least partially help to rectify some of the missing fan favorites and potentially even give some room for some weirder picks that'd otherwise be pushed out by the missing faces.
@nomither6 Both of the franchises that Mai consistantly appears in, Fatal Fury and KOF, aren't dead. KOF got its last game in 2022, and got its most recent DLC characters on December 12th, 2024. Fatal Fury's new game, City of the Wolves, is releasing on April 21st, 2025, and according to devs, will get at least three seasons of DLC.
Now, I do completely understand being annoyed at crossover characters. The new Fatal Fury already has two of its first season's DLC characters confirmed to be Ken and Chun-Li, which I'd personally somewhat prefer to be Fatal Fury characters, and heck, SF6 getting a playable Sakura might actually convince me to buy the game. This is mainly just to say, Terry and Mai aren't randoms, and aren't from a dead franchise.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! So excited for this; own the Japanese versions of all five Infinity games* (there is technically a 6th game, but it's only a weird remake of Ever17 exclusive to the Xbox 360) on PSP, but since those are in Japanese, I haven't had the chance to play them yet. Will pick them up ASAP when they release!!!
