Great article Sammy, it doesn't help that different sites have different scoring systems too - a review is always subjective so I guess you can't really compare two review scores anyway.
I like review scores, I think they are very useful, I also think a clear scoring policy (like here) is really helpful. It amazes me the amount of people that think a 6 or a 7 is a bad score, it's not. 5 is the average, so even a 5 could be a good game for you - its just less likely.
I always compare my behavior on this to films on IMDb, anything under a 6.0 and I'll start to question it. I guess its about time we introduced a similar user-rating system on here, I'm on it
@KenB I kind of agree with what your saying, there were problems with the PS3, but hindsight makes them look simple... remember the PS2 didn't have anything like this. I think it's a really good sign that they are publicly addressing the issues, not a lot of companies would do that. Shifting to x86 is probably really good for developers and should mean cheaper consoles, good for the consumer.
Have to agree with the Media Molecule demo though, I have no idea what that was all about...
I hope they aren't trying to cram too much stuff into the single controller... it could become a total Frankenstein! It does need an update though, I'll be surprised if they refine the shape much, it's so iconic. Not long until we find out!
As a huge fan of the first 3 games in the series and not so much for recent entries I was really excited when this was announced earlier in the year.
Having now played it for a while I'm pretty happy with the result - it has the same feel as the original games whilst having a good revamp in the graphics department. For the price, you really can't go wrong. Nice one!
@get2sammyb it doesn't appear to be a slot loader either, looks like the top has an open/flap, which is unusual considering the current design. Could be fake, or an old prototype... wouldn't actually surprise me if it was the finished article though.
Makes a lot of sense if its going to be cheaper for Sony to produce, not sure the design is anything special though... isn't this a record, first time a console has had a 3rd design?

@Valky lol, awesome.
Re: Live: Watch The PlayStation 2013 Meeting Right Here
@KALofKRYPTON yeah, they've also talked about using low-power consumption parts which, of course, will impact on power, but also on the price.
Re: Live: Watch The PlayStation 2013 Meeting Right Here
@SilentJ haha, I think we all feel like that today!
Re: Live: Watch The PlayStation 2013 Meeting Right Here
@Valky yeah, I'm expecting a price cut... but hopefully will be a footnote in the announcements... I'm sure it will feature though.
Re: Live: Watch The PlayStation 2013 Meeting Right Here
This all seems quite elaborate for a PS Vita price drop announcement!
