@MindfulGamer haven't really seriously considered that... I think it might start to get very complicated in practice, we don't want to have a multi-platform site but perhaps there is room for an aggregated view of all content.
@rjejr you do know the infinity symbol was around before Mario Kart 8, right?
It's also not about asking people to pay, it's simply giving people the option to pay if they don't want to view adverts. If you're happy viewing adverts, then it's all good!
@YeoSprings ah OK thanks, I'll pass on the feedback to Memberful though as perhaps in other browsers it should inform users to switch to another to get that feature.
@daveofduncan annoyingly we created our Hookshot logo about two months before Facebook revealed the Meta logo... but I can't deny they are a similar shape!
@Craggis19 I can see why my original comment might have been taken that way, but frankly speaking, we've already pitched the justification for not using adblocker on our sites, for many years now. We've deliberately kept our use of ads in check when compared to most other sites as evidenced by the comments on this article. That said, today's step is giving people a reasonable and fair way to view the sites without adverts, which is long overdue.
@Craggis19 @bindiana the truth is we haven't made any decisions on that at this time, but ultimately it's unfair on those (the vast majority) that do willingly view adverts or subscribe if we didn't consider those options in the future.
@Craggis19 hah, not really but I do think it's fair for us to ask readers to either view adverts or pay via subscription. Consuming the content without us getting anything in return isn't a fair trade.
@YeoSprings I understand where you are coming from regarding PayPal, however after reading this: https://memberful.com/blog/stripe-vs-paypal/ I understood why Memberful (the membership system we're using) doesn't want to support it.
@Ooccoo_Jr the subscriber option will remove all the ad scripts from running, so brings greater privacy for those concerned. Would be more than happy to add a strict privacy mode to the paid subscription to disable all (but functional) cookies.
@meteors77 thanks for making us aware. It’s not timed, but I think maybe an advert reloading is causing the select box to lose focus. It’s an ad unit that logged in users don’t see anyway, so appears to only affect guest users and android. Seems all okay on iOS. I’ll try and debug it tomorrow.
@riceNpea @Ben7982 thanks both, I've made a note of both of these ideas in our product ideas tracker, so will refer back to them when we next do some dev on the quiz tool could be fun!
@Integrity @WizzNL retailers expecting it to be full price instead of budget is the point here, indeed. They are rarely wrong on the matter when release isn’t far away - not the same as a placeholder. If it was a budget price it’s likely Rockstar would have said it at reveal. Hopefully shouldn’t be long for a firm confirmation.
@Integrity remakes and remasters are often sold at "budget" retail prices, such as N. Sane Trilogy that retailed for $39.99. Therefore if GTA Trilogy is going to be the same RRP as a first-party, brand-new, title, it is very much newsworthy. Not clickbait.
Man, this was such an iconic intro at the time. It totally set the scene for an entire generation of games outside of Nintendo/SEGA. The remake/remaster is fantastic, kudos.
@nathanSF I've never seen these ads before, they are likely through Google Ad Exchange which are personalised to you. I can see what you are saying though, although there are plenty of other sites selling consoles such as eBay and Facebook, I'm not sure we would block those. That being said I'm going to look into blocking StockX as it seems they are more dedicated to this kind of thing.
@RogerRoger haha, I’ll believe when I see it. Coincidentally the NERF gun is gonna get donated to a local children’s hospice too. Figured I don’t want to profit from the bad luck. Just want the PS5.
@evan23 I take your point but where there is a will there is usually a way. The statement of “putting it right” should invoked something flexibility to satisfy their affected customers.
@TheArt that wasn’t supposed to be negative, more that I’ve never needed to speak to a human before, which is a good thing. Shows their automated system works in most circumstances.
@Medic_Alert well the theory is I could spend £600 on a console and not be down any money. But yeah, I don’t want to encourage scalpers to be honest. So no, I’d rather give it to charity than someone else profit over the demand for consoles.

Re: SEGA's New Crazy Taxi Game Is Open World and Multiplayer
Like many, I really hope this is good and lives up to the hype. I'll very much be onboard if it does. GL SEGA!

Re: Site News: Love What We Do? Become a Push Square Supporter
@NEStalgia @YeoSprings I get it when visiting on mobile, but it doesn't appear on the desktop version — I might speak to Memberful about that!
Re: Site News: Love What We Do? Become a Push Square Supporter
@NomNom yes, we’ve always had a single sign in system 😇
Re: Site News: Love What We Do? Become a Push Square Supporter
@NEStalgia Google Pay is supported, just saying!
Also, I take you’re point on the badges. That’s why we made it so you can disable the badge if you want the privacy.
Ultimately we’ll just have to monitor things and hope that there is no two tier comment system.

@Stormageddon the thing is, it would be pretty easy for us to start blocking people adblocking.

@billynotsilly yes, they are there now — but my comment was back in 2018 before this list was updated
Re: Random: WipEout PS1 Intro Remake Is a Total Knockout
@AllDaSportsALLOFDEM sadly I can’t change it to what I want as Sony thinks my name has profanity in it, that’s why it’s nintendolife.
Re: Random: WipEout PS1 Intro Remake Is a Total Knockout
@AllDaSportsALLOFDEM yeah, that story is well documented on both Nintendo Life and Push Square. It's an interesting read.
Re: Random: WipEout PS1 Intro Remake Is a Total Knockout
@AllDaSportsALLOFDEM why's that?

@Tasuki yeah, they didn’t ask for the £150 back which has now been donated to charity 👍

@Masquerade it appears that’s not possible at the moment. They didn’t make me send back the nerf gun. Haha

@nessisonett funnily enough, I already have two PS5 games sitting on my shelf. Thanks for rubbing it in
Re: Soapbox: Having My PS5 Launch Day Nerfed By Amazon
@Barryburton97 it may help discourage it, but yeah, there would still be victims I guess.
