@JohnnyShoulder To be fair, I only had a few goes. I am still really early in. I've got up to the drunken big bloke in the flashback and I am up to the troll thing in the main level. The troll has killed me a few times.
I have got to the point where I stealth him and do damage etc. with the flame attachment but I just mistime one of his killer moves. Trying the hit and run approach now.
I still seem to struggle with blocks/parrying and dodges. I am doing quite well at stealth, just not face to face combat. It's still skill which I am learning. Going to get stuck in tonight though
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@Rudy_Manchego You've got further than me in the memory, but not tried since I upgraded some stuff. Well jell.
The ogre took me a few goes as he almost one hit kills you, especially when he chucks you over the edge. The flame barrel is good to use as it will stun him allowing you to get a few fair hits in. You can also use the grapple hook when the green symbol flashes and then if you have unlocked the skill move, use that. When he gets down to about half health on one bar, he will get more aggressive. I found using the grapple hook handy for healing up as there are quite a few points to latch onto. Buy yeah timing is key to your dodges, sometimes you have to dodge twice to avoid being grabbed.
Took me a while for the combat to click too. Think I was trying to counter everything when sometimes you are better off dodging or deflecting.
@JohnnyShoulder I lured the ogre down the steps and then ran in close circles until he attacked, then role out the way or jumped backwards and went in for 2 sword stabs, either on foot or via the hook. Still took a while. Was more a case of patience and not getting greedy with 3 stabs at a time lol
@kyleforrester87 I just beaten the shinobi Hunter! Really easy lol. Do a stealth deathblow on him and then just hang back, don't fight him. Wait for him to do his red sign move and do the mikiri counter on him. Do this three times and you can do a the final death blow. Easy!
I think that is what the kids call cheesing it, but I dont care!
I have upgraded my attack power since last taking him on, so that probably helped too.

@Kyroki Glad your enjoying it! Wow 200 hours, think I managed about 130 in Bloodborne and that is getting to the last boss in the main game and dlc.
@kyleforrester87 ah right ha ha don't think I've done that too many times, but the last boss kinda got stuck in a corner. He did it to me loads though so I don't feel so guilty lol.

@JohnnyShoulder Well I never took out the Shinobi hunter because I found a short cut into the burning village that avoids him entirely. I only know this because everyone kept going on about the Shinobi hunter and I was like, who?
I managed to beat the Ogre after about half hour of attempts. In the end I just kept running away and then running towards him, flaming him and then running away again. It was not the most elegant of fights but hey, it finally worked.
The next area I cleared all the guys out first time silently, then got owned by the mini boss but to be honest I had completely forgotten about the jump button. Where is the next shrine or save point from that area? Going in from the ogre save point is a pain in the A.
I must say, after spending 90 odd minutes in those two areas, I have started to question the time vs enjoyment factor. I love the stealth and normal baddie combat but I hate the death system, namely getting dragon rot. I like the risk of do I bank XP/Sen and retreat or risk it all but I also hate that death causes problems for me in the game. FOr example, in the orgre fight, to avoid death, I would withdraw if I had to respawn to avoid death but twice I got thrown over the cliff and couldn't grapple. If I wasn't concerned about losing XP so I might have beaten it quicker.

@Kyroki Am I getting my butt kicked? Yes But now that I've played it for quite a while, I've definitely got a better grasp on things. It's like anything, you just need to practice.
Loving Sekiro, though. I knew that this would be the From Software game that'd click with me, and it has. Bloodborne is clearly brilliant, but I think I'm enjoying Sekiro more, personally.
@Rudy_Manchego the next save idol thingy is to the left of the area, to the right and below a broken bridge. I can post a pic/ video of it later when I'm at home.

@kyleforrester87 Train with the guy that can’t die. He’ll let you get stuff down. And the mikiri counter has pretty generous timing so a stealth blow plus just going for it should do the trick. If they’re charging you should be able to do it.
@JohnnyShoulder Ah don't worry I know where you mean - I found the bridge, will have a looksie!
@Kyroki I tend to resurrect and then run back to my shrine and rest to be honest. I am not great at fast reaction times and it took me an age to get through Bloodborne.
@Jaz007 My brain is messed up - I can nail it with the training guy then fall to pieces in a boss fight. I guess it is because he is predictable after a while and each new boss encounter is new in terms of the move signalling.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
@Jaz007 yeah I did quite a bit with him, to be honest I’m destroying general enemies quickly now, taking out groups without damage. The bosses are just tough because a) they are unpredictable and b) they hit hard. It’s all good training with that zombie chap but he only uses his own move set at the end of the day so it’ll only get you so far I think!
@Rudy_Manchego Cool. Makes life much easier stealth killing all the goons as it means you will have all your health for the boss. Take out (not for a meal or anything) the guy on the roof who bangs the drum, so he doesn't alert the others.
I quite like that AI can sometimes be a bit old skool, in that they go back to their programmed routes if they lose sight of you. Makes thing a bit more bearable.
