I know there's a Beta forum thread but I thought it might be an idea to start the full Street Fighter V thread.
I'll start off with some details that has come from the Shoryuken forums. A Spanish website received an advanced copy of SFV which featured a rather hefty 5.9GB patch. Though the patch might be worth it for some of you as it will allow legacy PS3 fightsticks to be compatible. It's also been discovered that Alex may well be the first DLC fighter and is due in March, Capcom has since confirmed this to Shoryuken on both Alex and the patch. There's also rumours that the extra fighters will cost 100.000 in Fight Money (why it isn't called Bison dollars I don't know) Capcom predict that if you complete the single player mode with the majority of the fighters then you should have enough to get Alex for free. In March they will be adding daily challenges as another way to earn FM if you don't want to pay. I think that covers everything, hopefully there will be some of you who will join the discussions on here or to arrange matches etc. What fighter are you looking to play as the most? Personally I'll will be playing as Necali as he looks so cool and he fills the big Blanka shaped hole in SFV very nicely.
My local GAME store was running an in-store competition so people were able to have a play on it. Now I'm rubbish at Street Fighter, but it does feel more accessible whilst still having the depth the series has become known for. Colour me excited!
@sinalefa: I'm with you there mate, loved playing as Alex in SF 3 (hence the avatar) so I'm glad we're not waiting long. Actually from the sounds of it, Capcom is looking to release a new fighter every month post release. Don't know what will happen in September once all six have dropped.
That's cool on Capcom and Sony to allow PS3 fightsticks to work (though you do still need a Dualshock 4 connected) because it saves a lot money for those that prefer fightsticks and more importantly for Sony it makes the PS4 version more attractive next to PC. @Churchy: Yeah my local GAME was doing the same too. I'm incredibly bad at fighting games but I want to put the time into SFV so I can at least try to be half decent.
Well, you can add me to the club of terrible players. I love fighting games but never play online, thinking this may change with V. I would need to pay for Plus first, of course.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
I'm probably not going to get this at launch, due to not having a PS4, but it is a game I'm really looking forward to.
Like you guys, I'm no expert on fighting games, even though I love to play them. I'm only skilled at Tekken (I'm ranked Disciple online, which admittedly took a few years), so it'll take some time to adapt to SFV despite my experience with the series. I know I'll never be tournament caliber, but it doesn't hurt to get good just to get some mileage out of the game, I believe.

@DerMeister: For me I just want to play as all the fighters and some of there specials and a combo or two, then I'm happy.
A question I forgot to ask last night: who do you think will be the final boss? It looks like it might be FANG but I'm not sure, kinda of feels like he'd be the 2nd to last guy. There's been rumours that it maybe Necali or possibly Urien. I think Urien will arrive in june alongside the story mode, if you know the street fighter lore (I know lol) then V seems to take place before III. And judging the recent story trailer it seems to be setting up the arrival of the illuminati (which links Nash, Urien and SF3 boss Gill).
My guesses are either FANG, Necalli or Bison. FANG is the least likely due to his status though, Necalli seems like some unknown threat that could be greater than imagined, but Bison is the most likely due to the age of his body and if V is before III, then he's gotta croak at some point.

The character I'm most looking forward to play as is Evil Ryu.
I've pre-ordered both the standard and collector's editions just haven't decided on which to get, yet. I'm tempted to get the latter simply because the statue does looks pretty good, though.
@Shillll: Yeah, its apparently $29.99 for Alex, Balrog, Guile, Ibuki, Juri, and Urien. Not sure if there's anything else included. Don't think its worth it if all it does is grant you early access for the other characters which can be done via in-game currency eventually.
@Shillll: Ah, ok... I didn't know about the premium costumes. I'll wait and see what they look like first and hopefully, they'll sell the costumes separately. Thanks.
@Shillll: No worries, I looked it up a few mins ago and it says here in the (US) PSN Store:
Contains 6 additional characters: Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri, and Urien, each with a premium costume, for Street Fighter® V. Also comes with an exclusive PS4 theme! For a limited time only, PS4 Avatars for Ryu, Chun-Li, and M. Bison are also included!
Capcom outlined their DLC and free Updates schedule earlier this week, have a look and see if it helps your purchasing decision.
March: DLC Fighter 1: Alex, Challenges/trials, improved online lobbies (will support up to 8 players) and in game shop.
April: DLC Fighter 2
May: DLC Fighter 3
June: Free Cinematic Story Expansion
July: DLC Fighter 4
August: DLC Fighter 5
September: DLC Fighter 6
For those that care Arc came out and said that Guilty Gear Revelator will have a fully animated story mode when it comes out in the west around June. Given the graphics and character models in the base Xrd, I'm sure it will be beautiful.
@sub12 I've always wanted to get into Guilty Gear. Always loved the style of the game. I keep telling myself to get ACORE off PSN, but I always see another game I want whenever I get the cash for it.
