Topic: Xbox to Playstation?

well i can't talk for others but i can only afford one this time you see i lost my job a few months ago when the place i worked closed down so i have had to get rid of a load of games and DVDs to cover half the cost of the PS4 and my brother is lending me the rest

you see not everyone can afford to buy all of them and a library of games to support them all, so we have to chose one over the others

hmmmm.... By my standards, I am going to get one and one only... M$ have acted disgracefully towards it's customers. I am not going to put a penny/dime in the pockets M$ - through console means. The direction they wanted to take the XBOX one is not something I am willing to support, I don't have trust in their vision as a gamer and obviously they don't too. - I mean TV! Adverts! I wan't to play a game !!!

Its funny Ive actually got more friends at the moment who like the WiiU compared to XboxOne. There is one friend who is an ardent Microsoft fanboy tho, theres always one aint they? lol He actually spent about a week after the reveal trying to convince me that Microsoft were on some kind of righteous path and Sony were gonna have to fall in line. It was amusing. I dunno how someone could be so blindly in denail. NOw he's singing Microsofts praises again with all the 180's. He's not getting a Ps4. It hasn't even crossed his mind to do so. Blind fanbyism of the highest order. Most people I know are getting a Ps4 or both. I dont think any are getting just an XboxOne, aside from the one I mentioned lol

Personally, Like most, Ps4 is going to be purchased much sooner. I may get an XboxOne later down the line but Microsoft have to show me some good games first. Sure some here are gonna disagree, but I honestly found the games shown at E3 to be woeful. Even a lackluster Halo trailer could do nothing to entice me to the new Xbox. Maybe in a couple of years Microsoft will have some good games to show off n I may get one then, but not anytime soon for me.

Yeah, I'd have to respectfully disagree with you. If we took out everything else and focus strictly on the games, I'd say MS won E3. Sony was a close second though and the other stuff can't be overlooked. The $100 difference was a huge determining factor for me and even if MS announces this week that it will release a non-gimped, Kinect-free X1 for $400, it's too late, I've already pre-ordered the PS4. The X1 purchase will have to wait until at least June, probably later.

Just read on another site that anyone who preorders xbox one in Europe gets a free copy of FIFA 14 installed on the hard drive. I think that was actually a pretty smart move by Microsoft.

Also MS have a load of timed exclusives!  Formula to win = through loads of money at 3rd Party Companies!

Well MS have done what you said @get2sammyb.  They have taken their 2 top games (Fifa/CoD) and gave to their players what they wanted!  I feel like there are sugar coating something which will hit fans with at a later date?

I have owned a 360 for about 8 years and owned a PS3 for about 6 (sold it about 18months ago).

I am buying a PS Vita tonight, getting PS4 on launch and not getting a xbox until they are CHEAP!

Most of my friends have a PS3 and are planning on getting a PS4. I do have some friends who are blind fanboys and are sticking with Xbox no matter what. However, I do now some more casual friends who are switching to the PS4.

Are the people who are PS3 owners who are moving to PS4 not fanboys, unlike the XBOX owners who are sticking with XBOX?
It's not like the XB One is terrible. It seems like a nice machine with a nice controller and a very solid launch line-up. It doesn't mean you're a fanboy if you want the thing.

Last Gen was kinda even with my friends.  Two of them had PS3 and two of them had Xbox 360.  I went with the 360 for the main reason that it was cheaper than the PS3.  This gen however I will be getting a PS4 because its cheaper then the Xbox One.  Honestly if Xbox One was to have a bundle that didn't have the Kinect and was the same price point as PS4 I would probably be going with Xbox One.  My main thing is I can't justify to myself spending $100 for something that I would never use.

Yup, game wise X1 definitely has more on offer for the types of games I like but MS took too long to reverse its policies and even still anything more than $400 as a base price for a console is too much, only exception might be $450 if a high quality game is bundled and even that is really pushing it. I get why MS isn't releasing a Kinect-free bundle but I highly doubt it'll find a killer app for it that I'd feel like I absolutely have to play so I'm content to wait for the price drop and hope between PS4, Vita, PS3 and 360 there is enough to make that wait easier. The real question is, is the $100 extra enough to turn some CoD heads away from the Xbox brand? That'll go a long way to deciding North America which is the market MS absolutely has to win if it wants a future in the industry, and Sony needs it if it wants to reclaim the throne.

Well, I can't speak for everyone I know but I know few people including myself who are getting the PS4 over XB1 because they prefer it. I guess you could call me a Sony fanboy but myself and a few of my friends are going into the next gen with an open mind. I actually thought I would switch this gen over to Xbox but after seeing what both have to offer we are choosing the PS4. I don't think the XB1 is terrible, it's just not for me. I was intrigued by the XB1 at the XB1 reveal and after watching XB1's E3 conference I was less intrigued. Once I saw PS4's E3 conference I was sold on the PS4 and each day after nothing has changed my mind. As far as the people I know who are Sony fans none of them are "blind fanboys" like you see with Xbox fans with the exception of one friend and I do have a few friends who think nothing but Xbox and will stick with Xbox no matter what.
