@itsfoz Do you think Sony would be interested in acquiring a corporation which (along with several high profile gaming IPs) owns casinos and fitness clubs and makes pachinko machines?
Can't rule it out but let's say I have my doubts and I don't think that's it.
That said, I've seen some other accounts mention the same thing and I understand some of them have a decent track record with these.
@itsfoz I can’t see any big acquisitions worthy of a Showcase mention tbh, though I’m sure Sony will continue to pick up dev teams as and when the opportunity arises. In all honesty, I wouldn’t want any of the Showcase duration wasted with acquisitions anyway… I just want wall-to-wall game announcements after how quiet Sony has been on that front the past 20 months or so.
@Tasuki you are complaining on Pure Xbox about the atmosphere here, but all you have to say is the same dull thing over and over again. We get it. Your input used to be more respected (and respectful) around here, what a shame.
I'm very much in favour of building new teams rather than simply purchasing existing companies which doesn't add anything to the landscape.
I do hope Sony builds a WRPG studio to fill the void created by recent acquisitions, obviously including VR support. The acquisition of Bethesda was particularly brutal with regards to PSVR titles.
Konami make too much money. That’s not going to happen. Gaming is a secondary revenue for them. Keep your IP & lease them out to the highest bidder. Easy money- no commitment.
If it’s an acquisition it’ll be a new studio or a mid-tier sized studio.
Gun to my head I reckon Ken Levine & Ghost Story Games would be a good shout. Follows Sony’s recent trends of getting in on the ground floor (for a cheaper price) & would be one more story focused game in the line up to make up for the influx of GAAS games on the way.

@Fight_Teza_Fight Good shout with Ken Levine, I was watching a Gvmers video on Bioshock the other day and was wondering where Ken and his downsized gang are today.
Plus he could do a Bioshock VR port.
(I promise not to mention VR again, at least for a little while . )
@Fight_Teza_Fight Great shout to be fair. My big announcement wish would be Bioshock for the showcase so this would fill the void of an actual Bioshock.
@kyleforrester87 And Sony use to be a respected and respectful company. Sorry if I am ot blinded by Jim Ryan's b.s. and am not afraid the speak the truth about him. But silly me I forget I can't do that here, it seems in order to be respected here you got to love Sony and agree they have no faults and are the greatest gaming company in the world and they don't do no wrong.

@Tasuki every decent person on here (and there are many) have all kind of views and opinions on Sony, many negative. But at the end of the day, what do you think the response from people on a PlayStation website will be if you repeat the same playground drivel over and over again?
Maybe it’s you that’s changed more than this place, but you should know better. Seems you have struggled to adjust since you were a mod here. It’s really quite unbecoming. Hopefully you can fix up.
@Tasuki I dunno, man, as the resident Nintendo fan I've been critical of Sony on here more than a few times without too much pushback. It's fine to be disenchanted with Sony's current direction, but there's a time and a place for it. And, you know, having intelligent criticisms also helps.

@CaptD@itsfoz BioShock VR would be a dream come true, but doesn’t 2K own the IP. I think Cloud Chambers studio is working on a new BioShock.
It’s been 6 years since Ghost Story Games was announced. Might be about time for a re-introduction of Judas (hopefully with a VR mode 🙏).

@Fight_Teza_Fight Yeah 2k would have to give the thumbs up, after their palm is heavily greased I'm sure.
Arh yes Judas is their game, how did I forget that after that awesome reveal.
@Tasuki sorry, I didn’t mean to be super rude, busy day and your comment rubbed me the wrong way.
What I mean is, if all you do is talk down about the place and make unconstructive comments about Jim Ryan you’re just going to lose the respect you deservedly earned over the years from the older members, without making any new friends in the process - so what’s the point..? You just want to deny everyone the decent contributions you can make, to what end?
You’ve been around the block so I can’t believe you can’t see it! Anyway, sorry!
If it's true an acquisition is happening I'd much rather it be another small studio that has pretty much only released PS exclusives or hasn't released a game yet but partnered with Sony for their 1st game.
Though I sadly think it's going to be Square Enix especially given the status of Microsoft's acquisition of Activision.
I've seen them mentioned as a desired acquisition target on here here recently during a renewed discussion about Kena, so I'll throw Ember Lab into the discussion here. Sony doesn't make many of that type of game anymore, so having a new developer like them that made a game that felt like a game from PlayStation's heyday would definitely be welcome.
