Has anyone else encountered this issue? Does anyone know how to fix it? Sometimes it turns on while I’m watching something on my Roku and it auto switches the HDMI input. I’ve had it turn on by itself five times in one hour. I can’t figure out what’s causing this. I’ve started unplugging the PS5 when I’m not using it to avoid this. I read online that switching off the HDCP would fix this issue, but it didn’t work for me. I have a Sony X90CH tv. It’s the Costco version of the X900 TVs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Apologies if this has been posted already. I searched and didn’t find anything. Thank you.
@Sheppard I'd have thought turning off HDCP would have sorted it to be honest, that's weird! Small things I'd suggest is unplugging your TV to reset it and maybe doing a factory reset. And maybe trying a new HDMI cable couldn't hurt.
Really make sure HDCP is off, though.
Have you turned it off on the PS5 or your tv settings?
@kyleforrester87 Thanks for the advice I will try a factory reset on the tv and the a new HDMI cable to see if that helps. I turned off the HDCP on the PS5 itself. I double checked a few times because it didn't seem to help at all. Honestly, I'm not thrilled with the TV's operating system/UI. The picture is amazing, but the rest can be quite buggy. I have a feeling it's the tv, but I'm only guessing at this point.
Do you have another tvs nearby with by the same brand? I have 4 Vizio tvs in my house and even though they have their own remotes each remote will controll the other tv. I have accidentally a few times changed my roommates channel or shut of their tv when I was trying to operate mine and vice versa.

@kyleforrester87 Not sure. The ps5 is hooked up to the hdmi 3 input and that says (eARC/ARC). Is that what you mean? It’s my first 4K tv, so I’m still learning.
It’s called something else on Samsung TVs but it’s much the same, but with it on your PS5 can recognise inputs from your TV remote. It’s kind of handy to be honest as you can use the remote to move around the PS5 apps but it can do weird stuff. I had to turn it off on mine as after working like it should for a while it randomly started turning my PS4 on at the same time as my TV when I hit the power button on the remote, so I had to let my PS4 boot up then manually shut it down. A bit annoying when you’re just trying to watch TV. Anyway try finding a setting like that in the TV settings and turn it off.
@kyleforrester87 Thanks. I found the setting and turned it off. I hope this works. My tv remote doesn’t work on my ps5 after changing the setting, so hopefully this does the trick. Thanks again 🙂
I had the exact same problem when I first installed my PS5. It was driving me crazy but I turned off the HDCP on the PS5 itself and it worked. No issues since then.
It is much harder to think about doing something than actually doing it!
@kyleforrester87 I’m trying everything all at once. I turned off the HDMI Device Link and HDCP on the PS5 and I am leaving the Bravia Sync off on the tv itself. If that doesn’t work, I’m gonna try calling PS support to see if they can help.
Well it looks like you did everything right, unsure why it is not working. Are you plugged in to the TV directly or do you have home system with 4K HDMI inputs and outputs? I use the Bose Lifestyle 650 home entertainment system, just wonder if plugging it into direct TV or via an HDMI System device makes a difference?

@kyleforrester87 The wait time for support was over 60 minutes, so I asked for a callback. I finally got the call a couple hours later and got disconnected almost immediately 😒
You don't happen to own the PS5 Media Remote do you?
I'm convinced the remote is causing the PS5 to wake but I can't work out how.
If I leave the remote on the sofa then sitting on or getting up from the sofa can cause the PS5 to start up. If I take the remote off the sofa, it never happens.
But no amount of shaking or tapping of the remote can reproduce it deliberately. I have no idea how it's doing it. But I'm sure it's down to the remote.
