@BearsEatBeets inside the protective... I have no words πͺ haha. I cannot do the whole collector thing with unopened stuff, myself. Did you get the regular edition comics to read, at least? π I will admit it would be easier to read the individual comics as this collection is an absolute chunk haha.
Did you get any of the others? I think theres been more since this.
And yeah the bag is from cdpr, got it for way less than it's current list price though which is pretty, pretty steep π¬
Got any other merch wrapped in plastic? ππ

@FuriousMachine very cool collection. What is your dusting solution for it? π As I may start to make a little mini collection with my KCD stuff as the main event when it arrives, but dread more stuff to dust. Flat surfaces are annoying enough as it is haha.

@Ravix It mainly stayed in the plastic as I had already read a lot of what is collected in there. I've seen there is a second volume but haven't got that yet. But yes I do also have a lot of stuff still in plastic or boxes π. I went through a phase of buying way too much 'tat' in the hopes of setting up a gaming room at some point. Not sure when that might happen but I'll have a ton of stuff to display when the time comes. I think I've shared some stuff on here in the past but got out of the habit of getting things as I just don't the space to store any more.
@FuriousMachine Nice collection. I especially like your ME stuff. I've got an N7 helmet and a large print of the Normandy myself.
@Ravix How do I dust them? I don't πWell, not often, to tell you the truth. I very lightly brush them with a swiffer duster sometimes, but after a few of them took a spill and broke (Thane is missing a hand and Ezio is liable to do a leap of faith off his platform) I let them gather dust and treat them to blasts of compressed air about once a month (or every other month... sometimes every three months... you get the picture )
@BearsEatBeets That helmet is boss, isn't it? It was the one that started me down this path with all the ME tat I've bought. I remember seeing it and thinking I was kind of envious of the people who could buy it and then it hit me that I was, at the time, one of those people. I could afford it and I clearly wanted it, so I went ahead and bought it. The other statues followed suit. Got Wrex on the way from Dark Horse, but that will likely be my last purchase of the kind, at least for now. Rent has skyrocketed recently and I've gone from being financially comfortable to slightly worried about the future. I'm looking to relocate, but prices are absurd all over town, so it's proving difficult. Hopefully I'll find a place that's more affordable and has more shelf space for my tat soon
@FuriousMachine shouldβve asked, whatβs the one youβre most proud of or happiest to own? Any fun hunt or struggle stories that come to mind?

@FuriousMachine It's a great line that Dark Horse has done for Mass Effect. I've got a lot of their Witcher line but the ME ones came out after I'd reigned in my spending. Best of luck to you in finding a better place.
@BearsEatBeets Thanks and, yeah, their ME statues are great. Garrus and Wrex were the only two characters I felt my collection was missing, so I pulled the trigger on their pre-orders, even though I probably should have saved the money. I'll spend some energy on whatever mental gymnastics needed to justify the purchase and all will be well
@Yousef- No stories, really, as all of them were readily available at the time of purchase. My favourite? hmm... I enjoy them all, but the two Marvel ones, Scarlet Witch and Silver Samurai, are a cut above, in my mind.
@FuriousMachine I missed the listing for silver samurai when you wrote the list. Great catch!

@FuriousMachine oh no, I hate dust but also dont want to break anything either π and it is a losing battle as it is without a load of tat to clean (yet) Compressed air maybe a slight solution, never really thought of that for regular cleaning, I know techies love it for tech related cleaning.
Btw, you've got a decent amount of DarkHorse stuff, right? How are they for restocking stuff, as it seems everything is sold out. I was going to keep my eye on a TW3 Rock Troll, but pretty much everything TW3 is out of stock πͺ
@Ravix I'm terrible at housekeeping, so things tend to get a bit dusty at times. So that shelf did not help things, but this way I can sort of not be bothered by it for a month or two at a time And using a Swiffer-type duster is fairly safe if you're careful; mine only met with their accidents because I was being sloppy and in a hurry to be done with it. With the air-blowing routine, I'm forced to be more focused and a bit particular about it.
Unfortunately, Garrus was my first Dark Horse order, so I don't have much experience from them. The other ME statues are from Bioware Gear, and they seem to be one-and-done with their stock. The Marvel statues are Sideshow. So, sorry, can't help you there. Maybe @BearsEatBeets has some insight?
@FuriousMachine ah, I like to think I'm fairly good at cleaning, but I'm probably not good enough when it comes to busy or awkward areas. So I'm probably a fool to myself for deciding to board the 'tat' train.
The soft furnishings, carpets, curtains and the like make enough dust which is just about manageable on flat surfaces without any clutter, so adding an area that will trap all of that dust in their ridiculous crevices is probably quite a bad idea.
Yeah, I've tagged @bearseatbeats into my dark horse question now. And from that I can go on to enabling them to pull the trigger on their gaming room too, but with a few simple tips thrown in π I do like encouraging people to make good (bad) decisions π
Tip 1, if you do make the gaming room, don't fill it with soft furnishings, don't even have curtains, a good blind will do, have hard floors of some kind, and seating that isn't plush in any way, not even a cushion or throw. Because dust is incredibly annoying π
Come to think of it I'd better give my consoles a good hoover out this weekend, if I can be bothered, too ππ

@Ravix I didn't get your tags as you spelled beets wrong but thankfully @FuriousMachine spelt it rightπ.
As for Dark Horse stuff, I'm pretty sure I've never actually purchased directly from them so it is hard to say. Not sure where you are but as I'm UK based I ordered a lot of my stuff from these sites
plus I think I got some from Amazon. I have a few statues from Sideshow but it is was always tricky figuring how much the import tax was going to be so I liked knowing exactly what I was going to pay from these sites.
I've actually got the Rock Troll and Werewolf bookmarked in my favourites just in case I ever return to collecting more and they still have pre-orders open on the first site. I've just seen they are doing Imlerith and Vesemir now too.
Cheers. Yes, UK too, so I will check those sites out. As i'm new to this I've just been doing the occasional, not so concrete browse via Google, but hadn't seen those sites before, I don't think. All I was getting come up was s*** like zavvi most of the time haha.
Did I consult you on gaming Swords yet? Is that something that's made it into your tat collection? I need to get back looking for some of those π
When it seems you're out of luck.

@Ravix There was a short period when I 'glanced' at some replica swords (GoT/LotR) but I never bit the bullet and actually got one. It's a little surprising considering I enjoy watching the making of knives/swords on Youtube and the program Forged in Fire. Is there a specific sword your looking to get?
@BearsEatBeets probably either something from The Witcher or Kingdom Come Deliverance, or both. There's some that are cosplay/larping style, so a softer foam material with fibreglass, but they do have a look about them, and then some that you can get that are dulled metal blades, that I've seen, cant find the links to the ones I was looking at though.
@Ravix When you mentioned foam cosplay/larping style I must admit the mental picture I formed didn't match what I saw from the link. They look pretty impressive. Probably less complicated than real metal too.
