We've also got guides on All Legendary Weapons and All Legendary Trinkets, if you're on a quest to make Naoe and Yasuke as powerful as possible:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them
In Assassin's Creed Shadows, Legendary Armor Sets are unique outfits that can be found all across the game. Almost all of them are found in the Legendary Treasure Chests of heavily guarded castles.
Legendary Armor Sets are split into two pieces: Head and Body. You don't get any additional perks or bonuses for equipping two pieces of same set, so feel free to mix and match.
Unlike Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Epic armor, Legendary Armor Sets come with their own unique designs and gameplay perks. Generally speaking, they're the best armor in the game.
When you get a Legendary Armor Set piece, it'll be the same level as Naoe and Yasuke. This means that you'll have to upgrade them via the forge at your hideout (which is unlocked as the main story progresses) if you want them to remain powerful throughout the game.
Below is a list of all Legendary Armor Sets in Assassin's Creed Shadows, categorised by character.
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe
These are all of Naoe's Legendary Armor Sets.
She wears light armor, which doesn't provide much defence, but typically boasts perks that enhance her stealth-based gameplay.
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Tools Master Set

Tools Master Mask (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest in Amagasaki Castle (Izumi Settsu - Amagasaki)
Perks:
- Shuriken no longer break on hard impact
Shuriken can be surprisingly powerful tools to have at your disposal. When used in conjunction with your primary weapons, they're great for dealing extra damage in a fight, or hitting opponents from midrange. Having them not break, meaning that they can be collected and reused, is a nice bonus for versatile players.
Our Rating:
Tools Master Gear (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest in Katano Castle (Izumi Settsu - Katano)
Perks:
- Throw a Kunai at the closest enemy after an Assassination
This perk's a bit hit and miss. On one hand, dealing immediate damage or outright killing a second or even third enemy upon assassinating someone can make Naoe's job much easier. But on the other, your kunai won't always kill the other enemy, leading to undesirable situations where your stealth is broken and you're forced to fight.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Mamushi Snake Set

Mamushi Snake Hood (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Omizo Castle (Omi - Ado River Valley)
Perks:
- +33% less Cooldown on Ally Abilities
33% less cooldown is a lot less cooldown — and ally abilities are strong tools to have around. This perk's usefulness obviously depends on how often you call upon your allies, but do you really find yourself using them often enough to a point where you notice how long the base cooldown is?
Our Rating:
Mamushi Snake Robes (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Nagahama Castle (Omi - Nagahama)
Perks:
- Dead bodies release a poison cloud when investigated
This is an especially devious perk that can enhance Naoe's castle-clearing capabilities. It requires clever play, however, and sometimes it's just much faster to simply assassinate anyone who approaches a dead enemy. Fun, but not necessarily efficient.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Peasant Set

Peasant Hat (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest in Takatsuki Castle (Izumi Settsu - Takatsuki)
Perks:
- 100% of an Adrenaline Chunk upon entering combat
Getting a quick and easy Adrenaline Chunk is always nice, but this perk assumes that you're using up all of Naoe's Adrenaline to begin with. Potentially helpful if you're spending it on abilities like Heighten Senses to remain stealthy, but Adrenaline is easily gained in combat anyway.
Our Rating:
Peasant Clothes (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest in Osaka Castle (Izumi Settsu - Osaka)
Perks:
- Attacks have 3% chance to remove 1 Health Segments on hit
A 3% chance to trigger might not seem like much, but this perk activates more often than you think, especially if you're using a fast weapon like a Katana or Tanto. Remember, this is a 3% chance on every single hit, and the result is the enemy losing either a meaty chunk of health or their entire bar. Fantastic for aggressive players.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Yurei-Walker Set

Yurei-Walker Hood (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Yamazaki Castle (Yamashiro - Yamazaki)
Perks:
- +2 Health Segments removed on Assassinations in shadows
This is an okay headpiece if you're trying to stay stealthy with Naoe, but the fact that additional assassination damage only triggers when you're hidden in shadow really limits the perk's overall usefulness. If there was a way to manually change the time of day to night, then there would be more weight to this one — but as it is, there are simply better perks to consider.
Our Rating:
Yurei-Walker Robes (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Shoryuji Castle (Yamashiro - Shoryuji)
Perks:
- Enemies are less efficient at detecting sound
This perk's usefulness will be heavily dependent on your selected difficulty level. On the harder difficulties, enemies are better at hearing and investigating sounds while you're stealthing around, and so you'll be able to get away with some fumbles if you've got this armor equipped. Still, if you're being stealthy, you're probably trying not to cause a scene anyway, and as such, there are simply better perks to be found elsewhere.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Swift Shinobi Set

Swift Shinobi Hood (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Kunimiyama Fort (Iga - Mibuno Vake)
Perks:
- Slow down time when detected
Not a bad choice of headgear if you're a stealthy player, as the time-slowing perk can provide a brief window of time to slip away from the enemy's sight. That said, it won't get you out of danger completely — foes who have spotted you will still investigate the area even if you return to being undetected. There are simply better perks to be found elsewhere.
Our Rating:
Swift Shinobi Robes (Body)
Location: Inside a Legendary Treasure Chest in Hijiyama Fort (Iga - Hijiyama)
Perks:
- +2 Health Segments removed on Air Assassinate
This perk dramatically increases Naoe's overall damage with air assassinations. If you're the type of player who prefers stealth and getting the drop on your enemies, you can't go wrong. The only potential problem comes with doing enough damage to begin with, rendering this perk a bit pointless depending on the foes that you're killing.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Legendary Onna-musha Set

Legendary Onna-musha Headband (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Koriyama Castle (Yamato - Koriyama)
Perks:
- Vault over enemies while sprinting
This is an armor piece with so much potential, depending on how much room you've got to actually move around in a fight. Being able to vault at will grants you all sorts of opportunities, from making enemies vulnerable to staggering them, to letting you do huge backstab damage. If you have the right abilities and passive perks unlocked through Naoe's skill trees, this headband is always a consideration.
Our Rating:
Legendary Onna-musha Kosode (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Uda Matsuyama Castle (Yamato - Uda Matsuyama)
Perks:
- Knock down enemies by sliding into them
A deadly perk if you've got the space to pull of full-sprint slides — so it's hard to make use of indoors or in tightly-packed castle grounds. Knocking down enemies leaves them completely defenceless and open to huge damage ground attacks — so this is an effective armor piece for players who like to dash everywhere (and again, have sufficient room to do so).
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Last Dance of the Onryo Set

Last Dance of the Onryo Mask (Head)
Location: Inside a Legendary Treasure Chest in Yaobikuni Cave (Wakasa - Onyu Pass)
Perks:
- Restore 5% Health on next hit after using Abilities
A decent armor piece if you're looking to improve Naoe's survivability. 5% health restoration isn't much, but it can help you keep your bar topped up across longer fights — and these tend to be battles where you're building Adrenaline at a steady pace, too.
Our Rating:
Last Dance of the Onryo Robe (Body)
Location: Inside a Legendary Treasure Chest at the Grave of the Three Emperors (Wakasa - Shattered Coast)
Perks:
- Avoid death and gain immunity for 8 seconds one time
Having a second life up your sleeve can be a, er, lifesaver when in tricky situations with Naoe, given her general lack of health and defence. It's hard to fault this simple perk.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Naoe Cerulean Guise Set
Cerulean Guise Hood (Head)
Location: A reward in the Animus Project, The Legacy (Level 9)
Perks:
- Undetectable when dodging out of a stalking zone
When you're spotted trying to be stealthy and you hide away from your enemies, they'll enter a 'stalking' mode and search the surrounding area for Naoe. This perk lets you dodge out of bushes or from behind cover without being seen, effectively giving you a second chance before you're discovered.
We suppose it's a decent option for stealthy playstyles, but it's just such a situational perk. When you're discovered, you could always just hide somewhere new.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke
These are all of Yasuke's Legendary Armor Sets.
Yasuke tends to wear heavier armor that can greatly enhance his survivability, while also bolstering his prowess in direct combat.
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke Ship Captain's Set
Ship Captain's Gear (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Sakamoto Castle (Omi - Sakamoto)
Perks:
- 50% chance to negate projectiles
Not a bad perk to have around if you're up against a swarm of archers and gunners, but it's a 50% coin toss anyway. Situational and you'll never really notice the improvement to Yasuke's survivability.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke Protector's Set

Protector's Helmet (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Hanazono Castle (Yamashiro - Genbu Highlands)
Perks:
- Deal 50% damage to the attacker on Parry
Throwing an instant 50% damage back to your aggressor with a parry lets Yasuke take chunks out of elites' health bars and kill many lesser enemies outright. A very powerful perk if you've got your parry timing down.
Our Rating:
Protector's Armor (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Nijo Palace (Yamashiro - Kyoto)
Perks:
- Can Parry Unblockable attacks
Being able to parry unblockable attacks is absolutely huge. It means that Yasuke never really has to move from his position, dealing with anything the enemy throws his way. Of course, you still need to get the timing right, but this perk effectively rebalances combat massively in your favour.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke Samurai Daimyo of Legend Set

Samurai Daimyo Helmet of Legend (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Nagusano Falls (Harima - Mount Kasagata), but is guarded by a powerful assassination target
Perks:
- Trigger Samurai Stand on death, once per combat
Samurai Stand can be an incredibly powerful ability, and getting it for free when you die can help you turn the tide in tougher fights. Obviously you don't want to be dying anyway, but this perk is really nice to have up your sleeve when things get dicey — especially if you're playing on harder difficulties, where enemy damage is greatly enhanced.
Our Rating:
Samurai Daimyo Armor of Legend (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Kanki Castle (Harima - Kanki Burned Fields)
Perks:
- +75% damage but limit Health to 25%
A full +75% boost damage is absurd — it's enough to turn Yasuke into an absolute wrecking ball. However, you really pay the price by sacrificing most of Yasuke's health bar. Having just 25% health — regardless of your total — makes Yasuke a glass cannon. Still, if you want to maximise your damage output and you're really good at the game's combat, this is the armor for you.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke Defense Master Set
Defense Master Headwrap (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at
Perks:
- Slow down time after a successful Dodge
The Defense Master Headwrap's unique perk is incredibly useful; it activates on dodges against regular attacks — not just unblockable ones. The time dilation doesn't last long, but it's still lengthy enough to reposition Yasuke, and, depending on the direction of your dodge, you might even be able to get an extra attack in.
This armor is very hard to overlook if you're adept at dodging — but there is a slight drawback in that the time slow isn't very well telegraphed by the game (there are no visual cues or anything). As such, you can find yourself in situations where the slow motion actually gets in the way of your own actions.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke Elegant Samurai Set
Elegant Samurai Outfit (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest in the Megalithic Vault (Yamato - Koriyama)
Perks:
- +20% Posture Damage per Adrenaline Chunk filled
Having four full Adrenaline Chunks means this armor gives you a massive 80% damage boost when using Yasuke's already powerful posture attacks — making this a hard outfit to fault regardless of your playstyle. The only downside is that you should really be spending Adrenaline when you've got it in order to maintain aggression — and subsequently, doing so diminishes the perk's usefulness.
Still, even if you just keep a healthy two or three chunks filled, you're getting a sizeable bonus.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke Master Archer Set

Master Archer Headband (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Kanegasaki Castle (Wakasa - Sotomo Gate)
Perks:
- Slow down time on Headshots every 8 seconds
As long as you've got enough ammo, this perk can allow a skilled archer to take out whole groups of enemies before they get to you. Granted, 8 seconds can be quite a long time in the heat of battle, but the slow effect lets you fire off at least two or three more arrows before it runs out. Or, if you prefer Teppos, this should give you enough time to reload with no interruptions. Hard to ignore if you're a fan of ranged weaponry.
Our Rating:
Master Archer Outfit (Body)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Tsuruga Castle (Wakasa - Sotomo Gate)
Perks:
- +200% damage with Ranged Weapons while out of combat
This perk basically transforms Yasuke into a sniper. Although Bows and Teppos don't have that much range (at least, compared to modern firearms), wearing this armor means you're almost guaranteed to eliminate your target with a projectile before combat with additional enemies ensues. Solid for players who want to start encounters with a bang — but the perk obviously goes to waste when you're already in the heat of battle.
Our Rating:
All Legendary Armor Sets and Where to Find Them Yasuke Legendary Ronin Set
Kasa of the Legendary Ronin (Head)
Location: Inside the Legendary Treasure Chest at Fukuchiyama Castle (Tamba - Fukuchiyama)
Perks:
- +2 Health Segment removed on Brutal Assassinations
Yasuke just isn't about stealth, so this armor piece does feel like a bit of a waste. Brutal Assassinations are already very powerful once you've unlocked the the associated skill tree nodes, and so the only foes who'll actually be able to withstand a surprise attack are elites and bosses. But are you really getting to a point where you can try to pull a Brutal Assassination against these enemies? As Yasuke?
This hat might help you in very specific situations, but that's about it.
