An Armored Core VI: Fires of the Rubicon blowout could be imminent, if a new report from Insider Gaming is to be believed. The reliable publication claims that FromSoftware's mech-crunching RPG could be targeting an August 2023 release, which is probably a lot closer than many onlookers may have anticipated.
When the Japanese developer slapped a vague '2023' on Armoured Core VI back when it was revealed at The Game Awards last year, there was a lot of scepticism. After all, From has only just launched Elden Ring in February of 2022. However, recent rumours have painted this project as being a lot further along the production line than people think — and this latest report solidifies those claims.
Just last week, key art for Armored Core VI was uncovered along with an age rating in Korea. Typically, age ratings point towards an upcoming announcement of some kind.
If Armored Core VI really is looking at an August launch — or, more specifically, a 25th August launch according to the report — then the game's marketing campaign is surely about to kick into gear. With Summer Game Fest coming up in June, we wouldn't be at all surprised to see Geoff Keighley and his team go hard on this one.

This “E3 season,” even without E3 is probably going to be ripe with releases for the second half of the year, as almost every console has a pretty barren release schedule for Q3 and Q4 at the moment, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Armor Core, Alan Wake, etc are all going to be announced in either a Sony Showcase, the Xbox Showcase, or Geoff’s Showcase. Even without an official E3, the season is imminent and I believe it will feel like it. I’m really looking forward to seeing more of this title.
Good for the fans of Armore Core I guess, not so much for the rest of us, still waiting for the next SoulsBorne game.
I just want Bloodborne remaster at 60fps
Game was ‘softly’ announced quite a while ago, so this wouldn’t surprise me at all. I’m sure From wants to keep their momentum going after the success of Elden Ring.
Absolutely. Cannot. Wait!
I mean, AC6 has been in development as far back as 2016. So, no, an August release isn't super surprising, and yes I do expect to see it at Keighley's show in June
Did you guys listen to Sacred Symbols and realize there’s a bunch of stufff you guys missed from last weeks news? 😂
I really can't imagine they could be close to launching a new AC a year and a half after ER, but....if so that's just amazing.
@Shinnok789 its a different studio within fromsoft. You literally just got elden ring.
I’m excited. I’d love to see a From game that isn’t a Souls game. I hope they don’t inject Souls into honestly. I want something different, and I don’t remember the bit of old AC I played having any Souls like elements aside from being hard.
@Shinnok789 It's funny you say that cause i have the opposite impression.
I was excited for a new AC until they started to say they were incorporating souls elements with the difficulty.
I felt like they are making Souls with Mechs and i lost interest.
Either way, i am pretty sure you haven't been waiting for as long as AC fans for a new game. 😅
Also saying "the rest of us" want a soulsborne is pretty generous. I much rather a new Tenchu.
I remember the PS1 days of Armoured Core. Aimlessly going around with absolutely no idea what the hell was going on . 😎
@somnambulance I can easily see the release date trailer being revealed during Xbox's showcase, since this game has been confirmed to be multi-platform.
