With Concord dropping simultaneously on Friday on PS5 and PC, Sony is now detailing the PC version, which comes with all kinds of additional bells and whistles. You'll need a rig capable of taking advantage of those extras, obviously, but it's hard not to see the list of PC-exclusive extras and feel a small pang of jealousy.
The bountiful PC version will enjoy uncapped framerates, 4K visuals, Ultrawide support, futuristic Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.1 tech, mouse and keyboard support, and full DualSense controller integration. It certainly looks nice, and we won't have much longer to wait to find out if Firewalk has managed to stick the landing. We'll provide our full thoughts on the game once the larger PlayStation community, which now extends to players on PC, has had a chance to dive in properly.
Does Sony being in the business of PC games still take some getting used to? Are you planning on picking up Concord, and if so, where? Adapt to this bold new future in which we find ourselves in the comments section below.

@jrt87 You say that as though anyone could have predicted Black Myth's level of success.
I'm not a big mouse + keyboard guy but I think every (multiplayer) shooter is best played on PC because of that. I just can't aim with a controller
I'd argue that Concord is best not played. Ever. There are plenty of hero shooters with vastly superior features and gameplay that you can access completely free of charge. Imagine paying 40 bones for the 'privilege' of sitting in Concord's lobbies instead. Or 60, if you're one of those stunningly brave folks who wanted three days early access.
Looks like a generic hero shooter to me
Well yes. I’m a console gamer exclusively but already know PC is the best place to play most games, especially with full dualsense support.
If you spend a thousand or two on the PC that is (most PCs, statistically, are well behind PS5 spec still).
Does the PS5 version not have mouse and keyboard support? Always thought it strange it’s not standard on consoles. I understand Sony not wanting to move people away from the dualsense, but have always been particularly confused about third party devs not supporting it.
I will buy a PC just to play Concord
My copy got sent out today so I will be there day one and looking forward to it. Even if the game dies after 3 months as long as I can get 50+ hours into it then it's worth the £32 I paid for it.
Still not sure that Sonys moves into the PC market wont seriously come back to bite them in the you know what.
Im not so much talking about what they are doing at the moment, but if they start moving more exclusives to PC, and earlier, and how this would lead to current consumers moving over to PC (particularly in the end phases of a generation where consoles start to look more and more outdated).
As I understand it Sony as a company really needs people to buy and use their consoles, not just their games, and they need to be careful with what these short term gains could do to their overall business over time.
@jrt87 what are they then ? i don’t think it’s possible to play 4k with an uncapped frame rate on any console at the moment
@Rich33 i sorta agree but think they should put all their multiplayers on PC but be cautious about putting their single players there too. my dualsense spends way more time connected to my PC than PS5 as is
Yeah it is best to be played on the platform with the least amount of players.
@nomither6
No arguments about MP being somewhat safer than Single Player (which I think unless 2-3yrs after PS5 is just dangerous), but I also think they need to be very careful with their messaging in regards to technical capabilities.
I dont really care about true 4k, but clean images and framerates are very important to me - 60 is a must, 90 is a very nice to have if available.
I have been on console a long time (since NES), and the only PC I have would probably struggle to play pac man (slight exaggeration), but as we go through this generation of consoles and I see more and more framerate issues or blurry image quality, my interest in PC gaming (through my 4k 120hz TV) has started to grow.
Im no idiot who thinks 4k 120fps is possible on PS5, but we have seen 1440 at 70-90 fps work well with the right engines this gen, particularly on Sony 1st party.
Im not sure their messaging of 4k or uncapped fps (which I read to be fps>60) as being 'PC features' is particularly clever, in as far as where they believe the PS5's capabilities sit.
Concord is not my kind of game (maybe if it had a VR mode , but still I find all the comments and drama around concord strange. People really want to hate the game without much of reason.
Maybe because it is not my type of game, I do not see what is bad about concord in comparison to all the other similar games. At the same time I don't see anything novel about concord (besides the vignettes). But what are the stand out features of other similar games ( that other games run worse on high end PCs compared to a PS5 ? Or are only playable on console ? Also have mouse and keyboard support on console ? Are actually third person adventure games with over the shoulder camera ? Have more pleasing color schemes ? Likable characters ?
Didn't the last beta have that single core issue which didn't seem like sth they could just 'resolve' anyway and made high end rigs stuck to about 60fps.
How useful would uncapped framerate be anyway then 😂
@gaston it's not so much that other games in the genre have standout features but most of em are rightly f2p
@mariomaster96 My brother used a PS3 controller to play BF on Alienware back in the day kinda cool to see.
@Golem25 Got any recommendations for hero shooters? I fell off of Overwatch as I didn't enjoy 2 as much as the first.
@Rich33 as dumb as this may sound , what if it’s just a marketing strategy ? remember , you still gotta sign-in/make a psn account to play their games, and any additional sales made on PC , sony gets a cut. Maybe they’re just trying to get the attention of PC elitist more? Anytime a PC player plays their game , they’re signed into playstation & are considered an active user
@BeerIsAwesome I'm sure if Concord was available in China it would be crushing the sales charts too...
Just seems like cope to me. Chinese players count as much as anyone else.
@BeerIsAwesome Sooo…take away all the North American players who bought Spidey 2 and it was probably a pretty sad launch. Take away all the European players and whatever Cricket game exists probably sells five copies total.
What’s your point? Sales are sales.
@WizzNL statistically in this case Chinese users would be an outlier and excluded from data sets as it would skew them! As China represents a small percentage of the Steam's user base, its equivalent to the very vocal minority. Outside of China, and within the average user base, the game has had a good but nowhere near phenomenal reception. Using skewed figures paints a warped picture of the reality.
@jrt87 I would not be so dramatic around "Concord is releasing same day as Black Myth"
Especially since 90% of Black Myth players are from China. Country, where Concord isn't even available...
Concord on PC is DoA with or without Black Myth. Game has pathetic 35 reviews after almost one day on the market. It would be happy if it can break 5k concurrent on Steam during regular release.
@nomither6
Not dumb in the slightest, and im absolutely sure you are correct that this is just a marketing strategy used to entice certain PC players - its just how this message can be perceived by console players as "go buy a PC".
Though whilst i do not disagree with requiring a PSN account to play multiplayer on PC (so they can ban cheats / toxic players), I have never understood why companies use "active user" as any sort of metric - surely the incoming revenue (split by source) is the only thing that matters, where advertising isnt the revenue source of course - not saying your wrong, quite the opposite, just dumfounded by it!
Maybe PC will attract more players. But I highly doubt it. There are plenty of games like this to play on PC. Or maybe the modern audience is bigger on PC than it is consoles and I'm solely mistaken haha!
This game is like the opposite of black myth, in pretty much every way
@Golem25 That's a rather cynical and nasty view of the game. I purchased early access as the game looked to be interesting, well-developed, and fun. And it is. With PC crossplay on matching times usually took less than 10 seconds. The advantage of making the game a paid one is that players "bought" into the game, making for a more stable playerbase. I'm sure there will be a time to critically review the launch plans and indeed the quality of the game, but to assert the game is best not played takes a special kind of selfish myopia.
Imagine spending $3k on a high end rig, and then using it to play Concord.
Well this is most games as long as it isn't a bad port and you have a decent PC.
@BeerIsAwesome What does that even mean? Are you suggesting the Chinese government is directing players to buy Wukong?
@BeerIsAwesome Frankly that just sounds like a bunch of racist assumptions that you're using to hand wave aside the success of Wukong. But indeed, time will tell and the sales figures don't lie.
@TheUnrestCure I'm really happy for you. Or sad that happened. Ain't reading all that. The beta, which they suspiciously threw open for everyone, was ass. 40 bucks for that, lord almighty.
@Rich33 many families that make up a large percentage of the console base aren’t going to switch to PC. PC gaming is still a niche market unlike the rest of gaming avenues. The only threat from the PC arena that could sway console gamers is the portable PCs or decks. Even so every deck owner I talked too is a typical PC guy in the know. Never have I encountered a gamer from the normal pool so to speak whom has one of those decks. To sum it up consoles will be fine. Console games going to PC is just a way for Sony to make more money while not messing up their console sells unlike Microsoft.
@Golem25 Thank you for providing proof of the absolute insanity of online discussion with people who have neither good intent nor good manners. For this kinda trouble I should just hang out on the Steam forum to look for high-quality #$%^posting like the "General Playercount Watch Thread"; this "ass" game sure does draw a lot of attention from people who don't like it ; )
@TheUnrestCure "I should just hang out on the Steam forum to look for high-quality #$%^posting like the "General Playercount Watch Thread""
This but unironically.
