DOOM Eternal was a masterpiece of intuitive gameplay focused design. It is the truest, most game-y “game” to be released in years. It wasn’t afraid to call the player out in their lack of skill, and it encouraged you to get better, like games used to. If anything, it should win at least one award.
It’s not even nominated for GotY or best music? What’s even is this list? This is stupid.
DOOM Eternal is a better game. It requires one to master the skills in the game, but is not made to be unfair, just challenging. It’s what games used to be, the types of games we still call masterpieces to this day. TLOU2 is pretty, but it’s more of a movie than a real game.
No. They said they wanted to respect the religions depicted, yet they had the Catholic Church change its doctrine on key issues, which is heresy and impossible, as Church doctrine does not change. Such an act is a denial of the Holy Spirit’s ability to protect Church teaching, and thus blasphemy as well. I have to put my foot down.
This is also without mentioning the sacrilegious depiction of the blessed Mother in the game in relation to a gang that has a devotion to an apparition. Yes, the Church in the game condemned the devotion, but it’s still incredibly messed up to depict Christ’s mother and our mother like that. It’s just downright evil.
@Orpheus79V I wouldn't say his views were opposite of Andrew Ryan's. His views are supplementary to Ryan's. The game was made as a slight against Objectivism and the severe problems such an extreme ideology brings (funny how Ayn Rand was so resentful of one extreme ideology, that she decided to go extremist in the opposite direction). Fontaine wasn't there to promote a separate ideology, he was there to abuse and manipulate Ryan's ideology.
@JoeBlogs Games are becoming an impressive medium. They're not only capable of telling a good story, but also add in interaction and choice, something you can't get from watching a movie and reading a book. They could be the future choice media humans spend their time on as the medium advances.

Re: Resident Evil Village (PS5) - Capcom's Best Horror Game for 16 Years
@LiamCroft Is it still survival horror, or is it an action movie like RE4?

@SnowstormX Skyrim and the Bethesda Fallout entries aren't known for having good stories either... XD
