I am only in the middle of chapter 2 and still adjusting to the clunky controls (shot the butcher in Valentine by accident yesterday) but my overall impression is positive so far. Would give it currently a 8/10.
I will give the app a try. I always try to turn of minimaps, because once they are on screen I usually just walk to the next marker without paying attention to any in-Game details. This breaks immersion and RDR2 is all about immersion. However, I also tend to get lost and need to check the map more often then I want to. The map on a second screen seems like a perfect solution for me.
I will be travelling the night before release. So I decided to go digital and already pre-loaded. Download states Version 1.02. So I should be good to go.
