@Ralizah I do the majority of single player gaming on a pc already but I am building a new rig soon with probably a pair of 3080's or 3090's depending on a few things.
@graysoncharles I am conceding that these companies are much more obliged to put out cheaper hardware to get more people on their subscriptions which is where the vast majority of their revenue comes from. The Xbox head recently said he expects the Series S to outsell the X and I thought that was nuts but you and he are right in that it would be the best way to make the most money in the long run.
@graysoncharles I think a lot more people would pay that price than you realize. Most people drop $1000+ a year on new phones and spend lots of money on other electronics and devices. Paying $2000 for something you'll use for nearly a decade is a low price by modern standards. $500 is the cost of an iPad you buy your 8 year old.
@God_of_Nowt Everything is moving far too slowly for me unfortunately. It's a pain, I'm not getting any younger.
@graysoncharles I know the PS5 will not be capable of this for most games. I did not say anywhere that I actually thought 4K/60fps/full ray tracing WOULD be the next-gen standard, I said it SHOULD be. Don't know where you people pulled that from. I don't care about the price, just give me a huge jump otherwise it is another halfstep.
@God_of_Nowt Coronavirus impacted business for all of them a bit this year and I have been very busy with a lot of work from home issues but they are all actually making more money now than they were pre-covid. Not too sure why, all have far more demand now.
@Ralizah I'd gladly pay $2000+ for a PS5 or XSX if they actually offered a next gen experience. Settling for mediocrity is ridiculous.
@Flaming_Kaiser I do, just bought a new one a few weeks ago for this new gen and I'm already seeing half-assed crap like this. Last gen was 1080p, this gen should 4K.
@2cents I build computer systems and networks for a living and my clients would strongly disagree.
@God_of_Nowt I'm fine with options as long as they are reasonable, like 8K/60fps vs 4K/120fps. No game in 2020 on "next gen" hardware should be doing 1080p or 30fps. If this is the case of a lazy developer, Microsoft and Sony should have set a baseline demand.
@AdamNovice "And what if a game struggles to hold 60FPS with Ray Tracing on? " I would hope the hardware wouldn't be that weak as that would completely negate the reason for having a "next-gen". If that is actually the case then all parties involved have failed. People shouldn't need the "options" in the first place.
@JJ2 I'm seeing so many comments like this and it makes me so sad for the future of gaming. We shouldn't need options, the game should run at 4K/60fps/full ray tracing no problem. If they want to give options it should be whether or not it's 8K/60fps or 4K/120fps, anything less is insane.
This is getting ridiculous, if a last gen game can't even handle the next gen benchmark what does that mean for actual next-gen games? 4K/60FPS/with full dedicated ray tracing should be standard this gen for ALL games, anything less in any category is an embarrassment.
@Rhaoulos Retail won't have consoles in stores until February 2021. They aren't even shipping all pre-orders by launch, some get them in December and January.
Those club rewards are fantastic, really hope they aren't getting rid of those on new games. I've always enjoyed what Ubisoft does with Ubisoft Club and wished more companies did stuff like it.
@Orpheus79V I played AC1 a while back through backwards compatibility on the One X and it blew my mind how good the game looked and felt. The textures, framerate, and even mechanics felt so much better than the original release.
@DonJorginho Unity has great mechanics, combat, and customizability(a lot of people erroneously say Origins started this). The story was a been-there-done-that and there was almost nothing to actually do in the game. The focus on multiplayer elements is what tainted the overall experience. A better story and more variety in the quests would have made it one of the greats. Syndicate was just awful, all the good stuff from Unity was stripped away and replaced with nothing. It is by far the worst AC game in the main series.
They should build these features into the gamedvr app itself. It's the same way on Xbox too. It's annoying having to go to a different app to edit clips.
@2cents "best perks" Best looking can be subjective but the DLC outfits had terrible abilities versus base game outfits. Most are just copied over from already existent sets anyway.
@R1spam Those people are doing that for end game when they've ran out of quests to get XP. Specifically, going from level 70 to 99 is tedious because you'll likely have done pretty much everything in the game at that point. I got to 97 before stopping and I had done everything possible in the game including all DLC and player created stuff. Like with Origins, if you over-level or boost early on the game is too easy. If you are just starting the game there is absolutely no reason to care about XP or leveling, just do quests and you'll scale along with everything exactly how the game was designed.
@carlos82 I have every single outfit/armor the base game offers(something like 100+) but only have like 3 dlc packs. I definitely don't feel less rewarded. It's odd that you say that if they hadn't added these extra DLC outfits the game would be more rewarding to you. I find that to be very illogical.
@carlos82 I disagree entirely. All the DLC outfits are specifically themed and look completely out-of-place in the actual game(that is the point of these DLC outfits). The naval packs could fit in and perhaps the Underworld outfit would be fine for the DLC where you go to Hades but everything else is over-the-top and is supposed to be a big "look-at-me".
@R1spam "grindy or level based like odyssey " That was all just nonsense form people who have never played the game. Odyssey never requires a grind, it's designed that way.
AC: Odyssey had the perfect setup. They had a store full of cosmetic items and you could buy them. That was it. No microtransactions, no *****. This sounds similar and I hope Valhalla is the same.
@crazykcarter For me it is quite the opposite. This gen was the worst for me by far, barely any real games worth playing in comparison to previous gens.
@Kidfried Even though the XSX has a larger power supply than it's predecessors it uses less power watt-for-watt. It's cooling solution(vapor chamber, large interior maximizing airflow, chimney design) is without a doubt the most robust ever put into a console.
@Kidfried Nope, as far as I know they still haven't let anyone who doesn't work at Sony even touch the PS5. Based on it's specs it should produce as much heat as the PS4 Pro although it could perhaps be a tad hotter or cooler depending on how it actually runs.
@Kidfried There are now several media outlets who have done rigid tests(not as in depth as digital foundry does but was still actual real world testing with baselines and a controlled scenario)on the XSX. According to all outlets it runs significantly cooler than the Xbox One, Xbox One X, PS4, and PS4 Pro. If people have PS5's they still aren't allowed to say anything about them.
@Nepp67 I've 100%'d every Assassin's Creed game since I bought the first game on it's launch day back in 2007. Aside from the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series, there are no other games I've sunk as much time into as the AC games. And for both series I've seen bizarre false narratives emerge in recent years from people who don't play the games.
@HMazzy111 Yeah a lot of people are on the fence about waiting for the next gen versions or not. I will because I have Valhalla to play but if I didn't Cyberpunk would be like the only thing worth playing for months.
@Nepp67 What's up with you fake "fans" of the series who have never actually played any of the games but push this weird false narrative that the AC games have changed in recent iterations? AC games have always been full of RPG elements, the only difference with the modern games is more customization, larger open worlds, and lots more stuff to do.
@Perryg92 "I've not tried the new gameplay loop that started with Origins and then Odyssey and would like to try it."
I'd recommend playing Origins and Odyssey first(although that'd take you about a year), they are both amazing games that put practically everything else released last gen to shame.
Just pull the cord already, putting more recourses into a flop isn't going to revive it as we have seen time and time again. I feel bad for the developers who were forced to make this corporate product instead of a game they may have had passion for.
@naruball "Maybe don't invite people whom you don't want to read your entire chat history? Just a thought." Have you never been in a party chat before? If you have friends in your party chat who want to invite their own friends into the chat who aren't friends with you, this is going to be a mess. That is how the vast majority of parties are as well, it's bizarre Sony wasn't aware of that. And then there's people who just team up while meeting in a game and want to party up, this has made that far more complicated than it should be.
There aren't any accessories I want right now but hopefully we get some custom panels(I want a black PS5) and different colored controllers(I also want a black controller) soon. Sony should definitely do something like Xbox Design Labs for the PS5 and DualSense, they'd make a ton of money.

Did those people really get PS5's or were they paid actors? Seemed pretty real but this would have to have been filmed weeks /months ago. I guess they could have had to sign an NDA.
@thefourfoldroot Alternatively one could make a list of the people who would like it no matter what was shown. I understand this is a playstation centric site but there is no reason to be a fanboy about every aspect of the console.
They have seemingly "fixed" one of my biggest issues with the Witcher 3 with this game. If you've done all the quests in the Witcher 3 there is nothing more the game has to offer. With this game it looks like you can go full GTA and rampage around the city. If that is the case, they may have actually stuck gold here. If there are some gwent-like minigames I will be playing this game for a long time.
