@Richzx6r during the first live stream they said that there would be transitions, and that the SSD allowed for such fast streaming that you could stream assets while turning the camera, or maybe I was dreaming and didn't realize it. Anyway, not what they promised, but much, much better than any other SSD on PC. On a 4090, 12900k, WD SSD (same that is compatible with PS5 btw) and resizable bar on, I do get fast loadings, but I also do sometimes get stutter from asset streaming, never even once happened on PS5. To be fair, the assets on PC are also probably much larger, do that could be why.
COVID aside, I believe that the quality and political agenda behind their games maybe have made people lose interest in their (already too expensive products). Personally I have stopped buying Sony exclusive games and I am moving to other platforms, I have also noticed that out of the people I've talked with, all of them except one were against the way Sony is handling their games and they were annoyed by the push of the agenda behind them. Only one person was approving and deemed said agenda "necessary", she, however, doesn't buy those games either.
Twitter may be loud and whatnot, but the rest of the community that simply wants good old fun games won't even complain, will just move on. Hope Sony learns this.
Let's be honest, this whole metaverse thing is BS, for gaming, social and enterprise. But at least Sony is more clear about, it's PS Home in VR with more of their products inside. Anybody going to use it tho? Probably not that many people.
We have always known the support for it would have been best effort and not an actual maintained thing. Those things are gonna happen and are going to get fixed, just not instantly.
It's a problem outlook had too with the overflow of the Unix epoch style dates. We have known this would have happened for years, at the time it simply wasn't a problem to be worried about. I'd imagine it will get fixed.
It's not an evil plan from Sony to take your games away, just like it wasn't an evil plan from Microsoft to avoid having your searching your inbox...
@Gamer83 Yeah, this is not benefitting is at all. The problem is that Microsoft is not gonna stop, so Sony has to make the few smart acquisitions that it can make to avoid Xbox coming in and buying anything to then put it on game pass and destroy it.
@lolwhatno I agree, we can't know how much it would cost, and as a matter of fact, we cannot know wether it would work and how well it would work.
If it's true that there are PS5 APU available, one could try running RPCS3 on there and see if it's possible, being mindful that you would be on a different OS and with different graphics APIs. Aside from that the PS5 should be pretty much a standard x86 PC.
And also, are we really sure that making an emulation software really would be more expensive than having who knows how many servers for streaming, with custom CELL hardware around the world to be powered and maintained?
There is one thing I don't understand though, how can the licensing be a problem for PS3, but not PS1, PS2, PSP and even PS4. PS2 games on the store have essentially been repackaged by the publisher itself from what I know, so no problem there, but what about PS1 and PSP? And why can we play PS4 games on PS5? The disk explicitly says that they can only be used on an authorized PS4 system. Is the licensing for PS3 necessarily different than PS4?

Re: The Last of Us PS5 Remake Has Easier Trophy List Than PS4, PS3 Versions
I mean at this point they need an excuse to convince someone to buy it... Guess they're trying their luck on trophy hunters...
