Good thing I put my PS4 in the garbage. The more stuff like this I hear, it just nails the coffin on me not buying a PS5. Not getting suckered into it.
@Olmaz You think a CEO from Japan is going to be motivated by greed and profit any less than an American? You realize that corporations are founded on human principles and navigated by poor human traits, such as greed and ambition, and not racial ones? Or are the only people capable of greed Americans/westerners, and Japanese CEOs have some magical immunity to it?
Some people don’t bat an eye about paying $1000 or more for a next gen console. Heck, even one of my co-workers who has no business spending like that, dropped $1000 on one from Walmart last week. If people are willing to pay the cost, you can’t blame Sony for setting the price.
@BrettAwesome It is what it is, just roll with it. This isn’t new!
I never bought the game, so technically, I’m not supporting it! I kind of understand it, actually, since games are so large in scope, these days. Seems next to impossible to release a finished product.
Just treat this game like it’s in early access, which clearly seems to be the case. Not a big deal, really. Games of this size seem to need a slew of patches, post-release. This isn’t the 1980’s any longer folks!
@LastSaneManOnEarth That’s nice, but there were still games being delayed before covid was a thing, so what’s your point? People are crying over game delays and blaming covid. I’m saying that games have been delayed before covid existed, and that’s just the way things have been. Other game come out on time, that’s also a thing. What’s with you kids trying to play “gotcha” all the time? LOL
@uptownsoul Nope. Almost every big release has seen 2-6 month delays, historically. I’ve been following gaming sites like Gamespot, IGN, Pc Gamer, etc for nearly 2 decades and they report on it. It even became a running gag on Kotaku 5-6 years ago when everyone blamed Jason Schreier for delaying games, since he was always the one who reported on it.
@render Every big game ever has been delayed before covid existed, just want to point that out. I’ve never heard of a huge AAA game being released on time in the last 10-15 years.
This is what happens when games get so big to make. They take longer to come out, as a result, and many big modern games get released unfinished, anyway. It’s the way of the paid beta, maybe it’s time to consolidate the websites?
I don’t understand why an article stating a TRAILER for a game getting delayed is generating so much negativity. This is the first time I have heard of this game, why is it that a trailer delay is having this great of an impact?
Edit: I looked the game up and still don’t understand the drama.
This is great for me, because VR makes me sick. When I see things like job simulator, makes me wish I had the stomach for it! If they make games hybrid, then people like me who get motion sickness from VR will be able to enjoy these whacky things. Neat!
Also, is it just me, or are the ads on this site getting more and more obnoxious or what?? No! I’m not clicking them! Stop bothering me lmfao
@KundaliniRising333 You ever try getting 100% in Dark Souls II? Not fun. The last few spells are only obtainable in later new game plus cycles, so it takes at least 3 play throughs if you are efficient, more if you aren’t following a guide.
I was hoping for a little more meat to the review, I’m left with more questions than answers. I’ll just look elsewhere. I know it says “mini review,” but I still would have liked more information.
@Athrum I guess what I don’t understand is why the enemies barely fight back? In this footage, the monsters basically just sat there, and they attacked the player only 2-3 times.
@Grahamthecracker Her voice doesn’t match the character in the slightest. Her light build gives off someone with a slightly higher pitched voice. The voice actor is decent, but she (or he!) would have been better suited to someone else.
Also, uh, why was that giant enemy just sitting there, stun locked? People are calling this an evolution of the series why?
@commentlife Yes, because you’re the one with the problem over such a minor squabble. Not my fault that screws puzzle you, but I believe in you bud! But, you can’t even follow a simple conversation without resorting to deflection, so not sure! My point is that this is far easier than PC building, it’s just simple plug and play.
@commentlife Yeah, I’m not taking about myself in the slightest, but your internal bias is preventing you from seeing that. I even said I have faith in people’s intelligence, but you are simply here to argue your projected point. Trust me, people are smart. They can figure out this simple operation. You’re the one saying that “casuals” won’t be able to handle it.
@commentlife You literally remove the hard shell, and take out two screws and insert something into a one way slot. You would have to go out of your way to mess this up, or have poor object/spacial recognition. The more you talk about it, the less convinced I am that you have seen the instructions as put forth on Sony’s site. Another user likened this to replacing batteries in a remote, and he’s not wrong.
@commentlife That’s such a strange prediction. You really think that removing two common screws and inserting a card into a slot will land with a thud? Makes zero sense, you’re over-blowing it and you need more faith in the intelligence of people.
@commentlife I have more faith in people to be able to figure out something like this. The diagram is super simple looking, and it only requires a single tool that’s generally a household item. What you’re really saying, is you think the “casual” crowd is too stupid to change two screws.
If you think that removing a plastic cover and unscrewing two screws to be able to stick something into a slot is overly complicated, you really need help there bud!
@stefan771 Modern video games are based on drip feeding content and holding carrots on sticks to keep people coming back. This is a rather funny example of that, and you’re asking the right question.
I’m surprised at the number of people unwilling to learn the simple task of unscrewing something and inserting an item into a slot. Guys, take it from someone who has been building PCs since the late 90’s; this is easy! You don’t even have to research which parts are compatible, Sony did the heavy lifting for you!

Re: Elden Ring (PS5) - Likely Another FromSoftware Great
@mwatcher There's going to be a learning curve, but since the game has infinite lives, it's more of a matter of persistence than anything else.

@LiamCroft Thank you for the excellent review! How is the sound design, and are Ultra Greatswords making a return?

A lot of strange, Japanese nationalism in many of these posts...

@Rob_230 Why does it matter that Sony is a Japanese company first, and why do the execs need to remember that?

@Olmaz This was my first thought, as well. The game looks stunning, but I can only imagine the cost it must take on their employees.
