This does not take into account the massive sales to be had from used hardware. People are already selling them pretty cheep on Facebook Marketplace. When this happens, sales numbers will seem low, but the actual VR game sales will go up. That is not including games like GT7 that are both VR and non VR. Who is to say which sales can of these games can be attributed to VR owners? At this point, Sony will have to start monitoring actual VR player session logins to get realistic numbers.
The mura (screendoor effect) is still slightly visible, causing the image to feel noisy and distorted. Reading writing on the car Dashboard on GT7 feels like I am looking at the world through 90 year old eyes. Maybe the PS5 pro can help somewhat but I feel that 8k resolution will be the minimum needed to take VR where it needs to be.
@Terry12 Yep, this... I am still having fun but the mura screendoor effect is still present and everything feels so blurry. It makes me feel like I have bad eyesight. 4k doesn't seem to be enough when up close to the eye. It gets close to where it needs to be but still falling short of the mark. One more update to 8k should do it.
Overcooked may be fun, but I am not sure you can release something that runs fine on a Nintendo Switch as a 'PS5 game'. I guess we can attribute this to the PS5 games being pretty slim pickings at the moment. PS really needs its own Game Pass with AAA releases.
I agree with the above that the score should be removed. The game itself is actually very good. In a few months time, this game will be enhanced for new consoles, bugs will be fixed, performance and graphics will be improved, but the scores will linger and destroy sales or a really good game. I am currently playing on the Series X using Resolution mode. The 30fps runs surprisingly smooth, the game looks much better (as long as that blurry Chromatic Abberation is turned off), and I have only encountered two small bugs in 12+hrs of gaming, far leas that Witcher when it first came out. I think the main crime here is releasing a game for an outdated console that can't run it properly. CDPRs only hope now is to drop the PS4/Series X versions, refund everyone, and focus only on next gen. They will make their money back when people finally get to purchase the new consoles.
@Max2574 I think there are going to be big differences down the track, but all for the best reasons. Series x will be able to make full use of the gpu and we will see some incredible looking games. At the same time, the ps5 ssd architecture will allow games to pull of new tricks that were previously unavailable, giving us some new gameplay mechanics. I have both so I am set for anything! I love the way the ps5 controller feels, and I hope they come out with an adult version of the controller, that allows for greater resistance on the adaptive triggers. When you are in a gunfight and squeezing RT like your life depends on it, you miss out on the adaptive trigger recoil action. Hats off to both machines. The XBONE sucked at release and by the time the ONEX came out, people were too invested to get one (they were awesome). And it looks like they now have a few AAA developers on their bench so as you said... Good times for gamers.
@Max2574 They removed the link... It wasn't Assassins Creed, it was Call of Duty. It is confirmed accross many pages that series x outperforms ps5 in ray tracing modes, and ps5 outperforms in high fps modes
And here, we see the XBOX outperforming Sony in Res AND fps.
Seriously... it is too early to tell. Settle down. I have both consoles anyway, so I have no pony in this race, but I just hate fanboys jumping to conclusions to validate their purchases.
At release, none of this will matter too much. The multi platform games will run similar, maybe 4k checker on ps5 with native on the xbox. Graphics will look similar. The difference will be a few years after release, when the programmers have figured out how to make the most out of the consoles. PS5 will excel at all architectural programming, eg loading times and actual game structure ect, whilst the xbox will pull ahead with the graphics and visual effects. I sit on both sides of this fence. Some of the best games I have played have had the worst graphics. But also, I have absolutely loved games that are pretty average because of their visual spectacle. I'm buying both on release anyway, so I couldn't care less. It won't even cost me half my weeks pay... 😂
I think people are getting a bit ahead of themselves. It wasn't until a few months after release of the current gen consoles, that we started to see ps4 games achieving 1080p that were only just making 900p on the xbox one. The early exclusives were rubbish for both systems until the developers could see which console would run their games the best. Anybody remember Resistance: Fall of Man? Me neither... To be honest, I think we will start seeing multi platform games run at 4k30fps on the ps5, whilst the XboxX will be getting 4k60fps those same games. And I think multi platform games make up a good 90%+ of our game titles these days. I am getting both anyway, but I really don't think it is a clear case of 'Sony Wins' based on a few early release exclusives.

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition Has Multiple Performance Modes on PS5, Including 4K at 60FPS
The 4k 30fps actually looks surprisingly smooth. If anyone has a tv with Video Game specific motion smoothing, it looks like it is playing in 60fps

There are way more sets than this and they all look HEAPS better when upgraded.
