Re: Another EA Sports WRC Update Is Available Now on PS5, Here Are the Patch Notes

Firebladeboy

Really hoping this sorts out some of the performance issues. The game is amazing, so glad that Codemasters are getting a chance to showcase their talent in a properly licenced rally game. The screen tearing, is the only thing I think at the moment detracting from an otherwise solid title. Really love the Scottish lassie as a co-driver. @Mikey856 If you switch everything off, it's difficulty level is probably on a par with Dirt 2.0. However there are loads of settings to help you negotiate the stages. The handling model, combined with good force feedback, make it really nice to drive. I'm loving it.

Re: First Impressions: Farming Simulator 22 Is AAA Agriculture on PS5, PS4

Firebladeboy

@Ghostngoblins 🤣🤣🤣 now that would be awesome. I'm quite looking forward to this. Played FS19 when we first got locked down. I've always loved agricultural vehicles etc, but this game absolutely captivated me, to the extent that I literally spent 10-12 hours per day farming. Once I realised I could use my Thrustmaster T-GT wheel to operate the whole game I was hooked. Operating the fork attachments etc was a wee bit futery with the tiny sticks on the wheel, but keeping a straight line driving down a field was extremely satisfying. Love the look of all the improvements in this version.

Re: WRC 9 - Haptic Feedback Helps Bring the World Rally Championship to the Next Generation

Firebladeboy

I bought this, as I was a bit unhappy that dirt 5 had been launched on ps5 with no steering wheel support. I don't usually play the dirt series games, as they're a bit too arcadey. Dirt rally however is one of my favourites. According to the blurb, and the fact that fanatec sponsored wrc, I was really looking forward to racing it. I was surprised to then learn that my thrustmaster t-gt wasn't supported in this either. So I've now got 2 next gen racers that I can't play with my wheel. I know there will be patches, but that all feels a wee bit rushed to me. Having said all that, I tried a quick race with the new controller, and it was almost good enough for me to continue to use it... Almost. It's just not a wheel though, so I'm back to racing GT and dirt rally 2.0 until these racing games are patched to use a racing peripheral. It does look really good though, and I'm sure if you're used to rack g with a controller, the haptic feedback can only heighten that experience.

Re: Poll: How Often Will You Use PS5 Backwards Compatibility?

Firebladeboy

I tend to play the same games with my mates online, BF5, GT sport, dirt 2.0, grid, bit of red dead every now and then. Therefore I'll probably use it a fair bit until newer versions are launched. I don't normally look for backwards compatibility on a console, but in this instance it'll be a bonus.

Re: Battlefield V Single Player to Be Unveiled Tomorrow

Firebladeboy

Me too, used to have an interest in both franchises, but over the last few years, BF has always had the grittier edge to it. Not played COD for ages, but with the destruction and vehicles BF always felt more real. Still kinda wish they would remaster bf 3, as it was one of my favourites. When they ported Metro etc across to bf 4 the maps just didn't work with the increased player count, which was a bit disappointing. Less disappointing though than getting 30 kills for 1 missile strike in COD. BF1 is a great game I feel, much more raw with limited scopes and sights for guns etc. I really enjoyed the beta of bf V and had it on pre-order as soon as it was announced. Well pumped for the release, even if it is to less of a fanfare than COD. Now if I could just get rid of my 7 month old for a wee while, to stick in some hours on bf and rdr2.....😉😉

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 5.00 Full List of Features Revealed

Firebladeboy

I started testing the beta last night. All seemed ok, made up a friend's list etc, which was all nice as my 2 best mates appear at the top and bottom of my friends list meaning a bit of scrolling for invites etc. After running it for about 10 minutes my menus all started jumping about as if I was sitting on a controller or something! Rebooted and still the same thing. Couldn't control anything! Uninstalled and reported it....guess that's why they are beta testing. I'll reinstall it over the weekend and try again.

Re: PS4 Racer DiRT Rally's Getting PlayStation VR Support

Firebladeboy

Only ten quid! I would be willing to buy the game again just for the VR support. The series lost its way a wee bit when they dropped my national hero's name from the title and went down the stunt/gymkhana route....This latest installment goes back to it's roots of rally simulation and VR can only improve upon the experience. Can't wait.
