Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 302

Trying to juggle Divinity Original Sin II: Defintive Edition , Soul Calibur VI and Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night all on PS4.

Not usually one for playing three different games at a time but I'm managing... just! 😂

Put Witcher III on hold though to accomdate my new purchases. I just reached Skellige though so not a bad time for a break at all.

Never stop being Push Square's & NintyLife's cheeky chappy @kyleforrester87

...Though now I can't unsee that Resident Evil 6 logo thanks to that comment you made on NL... 😂

Ha ha I wouldn't quite know I'm not great at them at all, counting frames and stuff is beyond me

I'm one of those weirdos who likes fighting games for the story @KALofKRYPTON ... At least before Netherrealm's woeful attempts in the newer ones!

Forgot only Destiny 2 was free (...Though that's partially free to play now anyway)

Is the pricing going to be cheaper for these games? Cus I really don't see many benefits at all otherwise!

Re: Google Stadia's Weak Launch Lineup Won't Have PS Now Sweating Yet

I did mention the line-up in the Chit-Chat thread yesterday

It could've been worse... Could've been much better too.

MK 11 or Samurai Shodown will be interesting to play on it as there no doubt will be input lag.

Don't know anything about Shodown but MK11 despite only having 3 button combos is still gonna be subject to lag, especially if you're not an amatuer like me!

Plus a quarter of the lineup is just Tomb Raider

Oh and one of the 14 supposed games coming is Farming Simulator 2019!

Re: PlayStation Now November Update Adds Persona 5 and More to Streaming Service

It's a pain in the butt when you buy anything and it suddenly gets a price cut but nothing you can really do about it unfortunately @BridgeToClarity

I wouldn't say you're trolling. Your original comment could come off as sounding entitled though that the games added don't suit your taste/you already have them as well as the price bit.

Shame this is the straw that seemingly broke the camel's back for you

Re: Soapbox: Cyberpunk 2077 Could Become a Victim of Its Own Immense Hype

HallowMoonshadow

I've said before on Push Square but when I played FFVII the first time about six years ago, countless years of it being heralded as the greatest jrpg ever soured the experience beyond belief.

A similarish scenario happened with the Witcher 3 though It was much less drastic and I considered it to be a solid game but not terribly groundbreaking. (Replaying it now I'm appreciating it more though)

I haven't really listened to any hype regarding Cyberpunk. I watched bits of the 40 minute demo to see what it's like and listening to the two Samurai tracks.

I'll probably even ignore the Push Square review (at least til I've played it!) so I can go in as fresh as possible.

That way it'll be on the game's actual merits and no outside influences

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 296

Wellllllp I just cleared out all of White Orchard and met the Emperor of Nilfgaard/Charles Dance.

Yep I'm on the Witcher 3 replay train (Choo-Choo!) for PS4 too, having caved and paused my playthrough of Dark Souls 2: Scholar Of The First Sin at Drangelic Castle.

Have to say I think I'm enjoying The Witcher 3 (or rather appreciating it) a bunch more this time around then I did the first time I played.

Might play Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back via The N.Sane Trilogy if I fancy a little break.

For now however Velen awaits!

Read the review and I still have no idea how I feel about it. Less weird then it was making itself out to be though I think.

Thought it might've been a nine too (Not that I particularly care about scores in the slightest) before getting to the end with the thoughts about the middle being not up to snuff.

Think I'll wait a bit before purchasing Postman Pat Sam but it's definitely something I'll get my hands on sooner hopefully rather then later.

Nice read as well!

Re: PS4 Is Now the Second Best Selling Home Console Ever

HallowMoonshadow

I just thought it was kinda obvious from the get go that the article was more so considering home consoles @Ralizah (Sony certainly doesn't have a pony in the handheld race after all anymore)

Certainly no ill will to @Knuckles-Fajita (Kudos on the rebuttal Fajita)

I honestly couldn't care less if the PS4 was in a millionth place... They'd still probably make more money in one day then I would in my lifetime and I certainly don't feel the need to praise them for selling a plastic box more then the others 😅

... Even if I do quite like my PS4 and it's library

Re: PS4 Is Now the Second Best Selling Console Ever

HallowMoonshadow

When did everyone become so pedantic and walking dictionaries to boot?

Of course the GB and DS are handheld consoles and technically the PS4 is 4th if you include everything but I think it's clear they were only talking about home consoles if they only mentioned the Wii in the article

-EDIT- Especially so now it's been edited to say so!

Re: Guide: Long PS4 Games

HallowMoonshadow

I thought Dark Souls or one of it's sequels (especially the second as that is quite lengthy) might be up here... Though maybe I'm just a slowpoke/crap at those

Re: Talking Point: If Bluepoint Games Isn't Working on Demon's Souls, What's Your Dream Sony Remake?

HallowMoonshadow

Yeah I can certainly understand... I've played Persona 2:EP, Persona 3, P4 and P5 (Which I didn't enjoy as much) as well @PhantomXIII along with a bunch of other jrpgs. The tropes/plot points can wear ya down at times, my mood seems to really affect whether I don't mind or loathe them.

Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call (Or SMT 3:Nocturne if in the US) has none of the tropes/plot devices you mentioned bar goo monsters and a supernatural slant of a setting. It's actually part of the main series that the Persona series is actually an offshoot of.

The world ends in the first ten minutes for example with only five other human characters left. There's a supernatural-ish setting but it's still mostly Tokyo (albeit ruined). There's evil gods/demons/angels/goo monsters and the likes but you don't fight them to change the world back. It oozes an opressive and lonely atmosphere as there's only the protagonist as the common fixture in the party with the other members being demon's you'll constantly keep switching in and out with persona like fusions or recruitment

It's a PS2 game (Though availible on the PS3's PSN store) so it is rather old school in terms of design like going round the overworld and quite obtuse at times. It's also fairly hard.

Just might be up your alley though if you want a jrpg that doesn't conform to those points for the most part. I'd reccomend a look at a video or three on youtube.

I didn't even think of Dark Cloud @RedMan33. That'd be a pretty cool remake as I played the demo disc that came with the PS2 a number of times that had it on til I finally got it!

I'd also be up for Soul Reaver even though I never played the actual game... Always wanted to though!
