I'm not surprised to hear that @GuttyYZ. I spent about 150 hours on Larian's previous game Divinity Original Sin II (Which I also loved) and BG III just seems to be even more dense then that.
Never got around to messaging you back last week as my week was HECTIC but whenever you get around to cracking open your collector's edition of BGIII @KilloWertz be sure to give me a bell in the forums or whatever. I'll probably still be chipping away at it given the pace I'm going at
I'm from the UK too and have got the exact same thing with CQL (With the actual delivery by royal mail). Don't suppose you know how long you had to wait from getting that email for it to be then actually shipped?
Like I said been a week now for me with nothing happening at all with it just stuck in their warehouse apparently. Found a reddit thread of all things with a lot of other folks stuck in the same position as me...
@AndyKazama Are you from/in the UK by any chance? I've had the tracking website off of Larian (After sending me an email with the digital goods and saying most orders in Europe had already shipped) but it hasn't updated anything for an entire week 😥
I tried the demo yesterday and the whole automatic battles aspect killed ALL the interest I had in this stone dead.
It was so bloody boring.
It doesn't resemble FFXII's Gambit system to me at all as you could still change those orders on the fly whereas in Unicorn as far as I'm aware you're locked in as soon as a "battle" starts and that's it.
I'm probably one of the few people who actually likes The Answer narratively and gameplay wise (Though Reload could certainly spruce up The Abyss of Time a little) so... I hope it's true!
What the article failed to fully mention (but the previous one and the actual forum topic details) was that there was three categories of Comedic, Artistic & Dynamic @Gloamin.
7, 8 & 9 were all from the comedic category that I was judging 😅
I'm free from work for the next few weeks thanks to the christmas holidays though it's not gonna be me just kicking back and relaxing for days on end. I'm damn well try to as much as I can though!
I finally got past chapter 1 in Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous, pushing back the demon hoardes and saving the city of Kenabres!
... Now my Tiefling is Knight Commander of the 5th Crusade and... Well that's going to be fun!
I'll be playing Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous this weekend (And for the next month or three) which is an early christmas present from my partner 😄
There's so many options for my character it's kinda overwhelming with all the different races, classes and subclasses and such but I'm looking forward to putting a tonne of hours into it!
I'm at Chapter 5-2 of Resident Evil 4 and hoping to finally finish it off over the weekend.
It's certainly been a journey revisiting this after 12 years since I last played it with some highs and a few lows too. I'd still say the original 1998 version of RE2 is my favourite of the series.
I really hope the remake gets rid of the awful QTE's shoved everywhere in RE4 and maybe makes Ashley less of a dead weight too...
Haven't played it in over 12 years and honestly I don't remember a whole about it but the trailers for the remake have me VERY interested so I bought the PS4 port and am ready to experience it all over again.
I'll be playing some Valkyria Chronicles Remastered this weekend. Never played it before and am having quite a bit of fun with it. For Gallia!
The main portion of my gaming time however will be spent on Star Ocean: The Last Hope. Another PS3 era game that I've never played before which I'm also quite enjoying with it's PS4 remaster. There seems to be a focus on actual space/planet travel too compared to Star Ocean 3 from what I can gather too?
I'm in the final few hours (Well the last chapter at least) and it's been quite a ride. A pretty good attempt for the studio's first jrpg but VERY much still a Yakuza game in all it's glory.
I've kart raced, fought a giant roomba that's gone haywire, saved a crawfish from being eaten, become a business tycoon, belted out some Karaoke, some crazy plot twists, shirts being ripped off and talks of honour and loyalty... Ya know the usual Yakuza stuff
I'll be playing Yakuza: Like A Dragon whenever I get the chance to do so this weekend as I need a little break from the absolutely draining first week back I've had teaching the new lot of kids
Yakuza: LAD has been a fantastic game so far (In the middle of chapter 3) with Ichiban being such a great protagonist.
I'm still chugging along with Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition on PS4 having clocked 44 hours so far with the end nowhere in sight! I'm now in an alternate dimension of the Faery realm where the elements have gone out of control trying to rescue a witch!
I've also started Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair as a side game, playing a level or two when I feel like it. Very enjoyable and the overworld is fun to navigate with all it's little puzzles!
Still making my way through Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition for PS4.
I've got about 17 hours in and finally I've got around to solving the murder of councillor Jake that my characters were originally sent to Cyseal for...
... But it seems we have a higher calling in saving time itself from some Eldritch Dragon thing?!
It's not as good as Original Sin II but it has a great foundation that the sequel built itself upon!
I'll be playing Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Editon this week on PS4.
I've only put in an hour or so into Divinity at the moment (after dropping Ghost of Tsushima) but I'm really enjoying it so far.
Playing the sequel first and then going back to a previous installment is always an interesting endeavour (having gone through Original Sin II over two years ago)... But so far it's not that far removed aside from only being able to make a human character this time around and a few different skill lines.
Only took about ten minutes for me to slip back into things like a pair of comfy slippers.
Seeing as I'm free from work for the next six weeks... I might actually get a decent way through this too before I'm back to teaching in September
Thing is my only real hang up is the combat. Everything else is pretty much spot on.
I personally don't think the combat works very well with anything but a single opponent (and the game pits at LEAST 3 enemies against you at a time) and the lock on system is incredibly pants.
I've been playing Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana on PS4 the past week and I've really been enjoying it.
I've only played Cold Steel 1 & 2 by Falcom before and man this combat system is so exhilarating! The story hasn't done a whole lot yet but I'm enjoying the tropical island setting none the less and the very slight metroidvania aspect to exploration is cool.
I've got partway through Chapter 3 and got a new party member. Looking forward to playing more!
I finished Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster yesterday and got the true demon ending.
So what will I play this weekend? No idea honestly 😅
I'll probably go through a few things til I find something that sticks... I am tempted in revisiting Persona 3 FES after so many years but don't wanna burn out playing two long turn based JRPG's in a row.
I'll be playing Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster.
I actually beat the game already on Thursday and got the freedom ending (that I've never actually got before playing the game on PS2).
But... I suffered through all 20 Puzzle Boy stages and I'm not letting it go to waste. So I'm reloading an earlier save and going for the True Demon end!
Really looking forward to this. Both games are wonderful platformers with surpisingly emotional and thoughtful stories despite the cutesy apperance. July can't come soon enough!
I've been meaning to re-play it for a good 3 years now but I finally booted up my PS3 for the first time in forever thursday evening and dived right in to this PS1 classic once again.
Having an absolute blast and have just beaten Feyrbrand the Green Tusked Dragon & The traitorous knight Greham to get Lavitz his Jade Dragoon form!
I played Divinity Original Sin II before the first @LN78 and whilst there is a few references to the first game (I think? I haven't actually got round to playing it yet as I only picked it up about a month ago) you can certainly enjoy DOS II without playing it!
I dropped FF VIII after reaching the end of the first disc and never went back to it @kyleforrester87 so I don't think I even saw those region rules with Triple Triad
Played better then TM in my opinion with the basic ruleset. Still didn't think much of it though
And thanks! I certainly am so far. Easily my favourite of the 3 PS1 FF's!
I attempted the demo and those first 2-3 minutes of the cutscene with Garland kidnapping Princess Sarah was easily the best thing.
Surprisingly brutal, nicely shot & made Garland rather intimidating and a force to be reckoned with in such a limited time.
Then it suddenly went to Jack and co and... Yeah It totally lost me.
Utterly nonsensical, it looks ESPECIALLY ugly with some horrific art direction/colours on a base PS4 (which it really shouldn't as Nioh 1 & 2 look great).
The writing was rather rancid as well. I only played about ten minutes of gameplay on "action" (which was very button mashy and not all that challenging) before deleting the demo.
I wouldn't play the game proper even if you paid me
I've finally got hyped for Elden Ring after seeing some online beta footage... But I won't be playing it til I get a PS5 (whenever that is)
So I've already played through Dark Souls Remastered on PS4 to get my souls fix and am now replaying Dark Souls 2: Scholar Of The First Sin which gets a lot more flak then think it deserves (even if I agree with a lot of it's flaws) and I think is the Souls game I've actually replayed the most.
No I haven't tried PoE 1 or 2 @kyleforrester87. Only Kingmaker and D:OS2 so far.
Pillars is only real time with pause isn't it? I'm really not a fan of that style of play. Turn based or bust unfortunately (Even if it increases my play time by a billion hours).
I'm enjoying Kingmaker but as I've started to get further in the PS4 port has got a LOT more buggy and I've experienced a number of crashes now (Six I think and all in the main town). Though it autosaves rather often so I've not lost any progress yet thankfully.
Deltarune is mainly what I'll be playing. I already went through chapter 1 (Again) last night and started up the second chapter. It's really quite fun.
There's some neat new mechanics added in (In battle and the overworld), there's a bunch of new characters, some interesting minigames and this chapter has really made me laugh... Like quite a bit actually. And I never found Undertale or Deltarune's first chapter that humorous aside from an odd smirk or snicker here and there.
So yeah. I'm really enjoying it. Even more so that the console port of the second chapter was barely a week after the PC release and I can actually play it unspoiled for once!
... I also might crack on with some Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Finally dealt with the pesky troll invasion and actually got some downtime to explore other areas of the map and really delve into the kingdom building mechanics. About to start the next arc of the story which should be fun...

Still playing through Baldur's Gate III
Haven't even explored half of Act 1's map and I've already spent 15 hours on the damn thing.
I've got a party of Karlach, Shadowheart & Astarion and having a ball.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 554
Finally started Baldur's Gate III in the week with a Lolth sworn Drow who's a Warlock having a pact with a Great Old one.
Having a great time with it so far, I'm loving the companions so far and hoping to get some decent playtime in over the next few days.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev's Divinity Original Sin 2 Seemingly Set for PS5
Divinity Original Sin II was my first CRPG 3 years ago and I absolutely loved it. I'll happily get it again on PS5!

Playing Mass Effect for the very first time. Only done the prologue mission but it's pretty decent so far.

Persona 3 Reload 💙
Really enjoying it so far and seeing my favourite persona cast of S.E.E.S once again!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Re: Persona 3 Reload (PS5) - A Stunning Remake of a Classic RPG, Polished to Near Perfection
I'm going to assume you played it with the english dub @ShogunRok and so I have to have ask... What'd you think of the new voice cast?
The original va's are incredibly iconic after all and I'm still rather mixed on the new take for Akihiko...

Re: Holster That Evoker! Persona 3 Reload PS5, PS4 Animated Opener Here to Hold You Over
What a bloody good opening!
I may have mixed opinions on the remixed songs but when this new singer sings entirely new songs made just for her, boy is she utterly fantastic.
Plus the opening having ma boi Lotus Juice too? Perfection!
I can't wait to finally play it!

A Hat In Time is mostly what I'll be playing this weekend as I'm a bit too busy to dedicate a lot of time to gaming this weekend.
Still only in Mafia town but the music is delightful and it has oodles of charm
Have a good weekend everyone!!!

I'm still playing Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous.
Didn't make much progress (Especially with me starting again twice) but I'm past the prologue now and someways in the first chapter!

Sorry but I've unfortunately never played Sekiro so I have no clue how they compare combat wise @Hurblyburbly.
There is a lock-on system @Ravix. You can toggle it on in the options (I believe it was added when the director's cut came out).
Thanks for advice but I've been playing for 15 hours already over the past week and a half or so.
I think it's better if I just drop it.
... I'll probably return in the future at some point (who knows when though) to give it a second chance 😄
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 435
I'm playing Ghost of Tsushima on PS4.

I personally don't think the combat works very well with anything but a single opponent (and the game pits at LEAST 3 enemies against you at a time) and the lock on system is incredibly pants.

Still playing the PS1 cult classic The Legend Of Dragoon via PS3.
I haven't made as much progress as I'd have liked though sadly and it'll be back to work teaching on Monday 😥
I'm on disc 2 now at least (having just reached the Valley Of Corrupted Gravity) and i'm still having a tonne of fun with the game.

Final Fantasy IX on PS4.
Been two weeks or so since I last really sunk my teeth into it but I should finally get enough time over the weekend to get a good few hours in.
Just gotta get past this card tournament.
Tetra master is easily the worst card based minigame I've played thanks to it relying on RNG in the stupidiest way possible!
But otherwise I'm really enjoying playing FF IX for the first time and can't wait to see where it goes!
Have a good weekend everyone!
