@Anchorsam_9 yeah it is the biggest blocker to this game is the Learning Brick wall that is seriously unforgiving.. it you can overcome that then it can be quite rewarding Out manoeuvring a tank and springing the trap on it. Especially when your a light tank brining down a much larger Prey. I have found that to be quite rewarding exploring the use of the larger guns on the smaller tanks while they take a lot longer to aim and reload your speed means you can nip behind or into hiding and wait for the larger tanks to roll by and then land at least 2 shots into the tank either in the engine or tracks. Crippling them for artillery to zero in and fire or tank killers to fire as well. I tend to get a lot of assists rather than out right kills but its very satisfying to know i brought them to their knees
I think you were overly critical of the use of Premium tanks. If you used the 2 free with the PlayStation version and PS plus tank you would see that the Premium tanks are not over powered they just fulfil a specific Niche of gameplay. The 2 Free are both light tanks. Both with light guns the German specifically will bounce of most angled armour. Your issue wasn’t that they were overpowered but in the game not explaining tank classes and the principle. These appear to only be given to you as notes on the load screens which can be really ignored unless you have a play while you wait. It really should have had training missions to introduce these aspects of the game much the same the Android version did and covered. I regularly kill the Premium tanks especially the one that came in the release. As you know how they can perform as you are not allowed to customise them at all.
I find the match making to be pretty on point. The issue is that when your first starting out your going to be in the lowest grade tank and you will match make within 2 ranks of this (Since your at the bottom it can only go up) This leaves you in a light tank in a match with 6vs6 probably with another light tank and the rest are all mediums. This means they have the armour advantage and potential weapon advantage. So instantly your first mission your either cannon fodder or you have to be super sneaky (Not going to happen every one knows the OMG IM A TANK takes over and you just rush head long into combat and get rekt)
The game took at least 3 hours of play before I got the mechanics of how the tanks square off. Started to understand weapons and classes and importantly how to understand what the icons mean on the mini map… Now I know if I am a light tank I certainly don’t want to charge down a medium or heavy… but a square should be easy going.
