Taki - well, well for me this installment in the franchise gets more interesting - I stopped playing after Soul Calibur 3 (never owned a PS3) and haven't even seen the previous games, so I can't say whether they were bad or good, but I'm having my hopes bit higher this time.
I don't mind the weak models as long as it provides the same quality gameplay from the classics SC II & III. I saw some old moves from Mitsurugi which made me smile and some new ones form Sophitia (as well as the amazing rack) so I only hope it won't take ages to pull them off on the controller. Looking forward to it, although my nostalgia betrayed me 2 times before in the face of Wipeout and Micro Machines World Series...
One of my favorite games from the days of PS2 - I'm glad that Soul Calibur is making its way onto PS4, can't wait to play once again with Taki (nice rack), Mitsurugi, Sophitia or Maxi, but all other characters were interesting enough to keep me busy finding their ultimate weapons. Since the first ever match that I played on PS1 (when the game was called Soul Blade) it hooked me on and no Tekken, no SF could distract me from it
I liked the first 2 games in the franchise and enjoyed MW (it had strong singleplayer), but afterward I lost interest in the series as the WWII was out in their main campaign. For this one I'm really tempted because is back to the roots of the series and since my old PC won't be able to run it at all, I'll have to choose my PS4 as companion, although I haven't played FPS with controller since first Medal of Honor game on the PS1 back in '99...
I'm quite happy with my PS4 Slim, and until I replace my TV with one 4K screen in the future I won't be going for Pro. I'm not a visual demanding person (one of my favorite games to play is Heroes of Might and Magic III), as long as the game has a solid gameplay, story and characters I'm fine with it.
I've missed one generation in consoles jumping from PS2 to PS4, and looking by the difference between the titles I'm impressed so far.
Plus if I have to upgrade the TV set I would probably jumped towards the 65" experience as then the 4K material shines immensely alongside HDR capabilities.
But my old TV is still quite good in terms of picture and visual presentation, so they get along quite well with my Slim
I think that this trailer in Japanese sound quite fitting (I saw the one in English as well) for the period and the narrative of the game itself. I don't mind subs in games, it doesn't put me off the "immersion" scale one bit, so adding a Japanese dub over the original voices won't be a bad idea.
As for Jackie Chan movies mentioned earlier - any dub on his movies up until '94 (where he dubs himself in Rumble in the Bronx) were so poor quality, that when I came across his original Cantonese version later on, it was watching a different movie altogether and I could connect better with the characters listening to their original voice.
Any martial arts movie in my collection is with its original audio and English subtitles (I've acquired the full uncut version of Drunken Master recently), and the written text doesn't take me out of the action every time I view it.
The first TLoU was probably the only game so far, which I played again right after I saw the end credits of my first playthrough. It was definitely a strong game, with strong characters, living in a pretty believable world, where tough choices are made to survive.
I was revealing the story of Joel and Ellie and I didn't want to finished it, but all things in life must come to an end, it is inevitable.
Having said that I liked the trailer, I'm not a kid anymore to be offended my graphic images in games in particular, it was showing to me that people are as savage as any other predator in nature, and this fits in the whole narrative of the world created in the first game.
I wonder if it was two men rescued by a woman, how does the other SJW's will react, probably it will be again "controversial" I guess, but I'm quite alright with that trailer, although it looked to me more like a small part of the cinematic story, rather than a trailer for the game.
It is an adult game for adult players and the violence is there, but I agree that a warning sign would have been adequate before the beginning.
@vitalemrecords: there must be some misunderstanding, I wasn't saying that PS2 had a bunch of garbage games, I prefer a remaster with improvements in graphics only (because some games would look pretty outdated in that particular department), not in gameplay or whatever. I apologize for any mistakes I've made in my sentence, since English is not my native language, however I don't think that in my post there were inclinations that outlined your interpretation.
Greetings to all in this quite interesting community!
I found this by accident 2 years ago and up until that moment I was just reading the articles, however with this one it struck a chord in my old gaming heart, therefore I decided to place my first ever post.
My PS2 is still working (bought the last "fat" model back in 2003) and when a brand new PS4 arrived in my home I gave the old one as a gift to one of my best friend's two boys, alongside all my games.
I personally would like some games from PS2 line up to get a proper remaster - Burnout 3:Takedown, Burnout:Revenge, Soul Calibur 2, Dark Cloud & Dark Chronicle (I know these two are in the PS2 digital download section, but a remaster is more appropriate for me.
I know that this process is connected with lots of issues (legal and time constrains), but it won't do any harm if I dream a bit and keep my hopes for this to happen some day in the future. Cheers!
