Re: Netflix to Offer Mobile Games As Part of Subscription

LemyAtom

I've only been subscribed a couple of years - has the service really gotten much worse? I do enjoy some of their originals, particularly Stranger Things. I have Amazon Prime but I did that for delivery - I've never really looked at what they offer for digital content. Heavily considering Disney+ at the moment as my boyfriend loves films and has seen most Disney films and all the Marvel ones, and we just moved in together. I have catching up to do.

Re: Mini Review: Pacer - Anti-Gravity Racer Comes Surprisingly Close to WipEout

LemyAtom

I backed this on kickstarter and it has been a LONG road to completion, with the game originally due years ago, but I must say I'm really impressed. The game feels extremely polished and definitely like a bigger release, than the indie title it is. Former Studio Liverpool devs started R8 Games so that is why it is so close to WipEout. I seriously recommend others try this game.

Re: Dreams - Media Molecule's Magnum Opus Is One of PS4's Absolute Best

LemyAtom

Oh I do hope this becomes successful. It has the power, like a lot of indie devs have had with the walls of admission into development finally coming down somewhat, to allow creative people to flourish and maybe even get a foot in the door to an industry they love.

I'm not really a content creator.... I never dabbled in LBP's creation suites, only really playing the campaigns, but I am in general quite creative and reading this really inspires me to want to give it a try and create something, and that is a huge hurdle: getting people to give it a go. Hopefully given that the game is finally only releasing now they have the plans and port already ready to go for PS5, as this thing could grow and evolve and could seriously have some legs.

Re: Talking Point: In a Week Full of PS4 Game Delays, Are You Disappointed?

LemyAtom

As some one who would like to play games on release but can't afford them, usually for quite a while anyway, it doesn't really make a difference to me, other than to say that it should be seen as a good thing, because then the games should be better on release and not freely rushed, and will be less likely to have bugs and need frequent updates.

Re: Poll: What PS5 Box Design Should Sony Adopt?

LemyAtom

Sorry to be the boring one here, but what I would really like is cardboard. There are a lot of old games that eventually go to landfill, and given how much plastic we have polluted the earth with, we could learn a lot from Sega and what happened with the pc game I forgot the title of (think it was a football or championship manager type thing recently).

Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on the PS5's Logo?

LemyAtom

If it ain't broke don't fix it. And given the PS4 has been consistently brilliant and performed well, and given how the Vita confused some and could have been different if it was called the PSP 2 (not saying it would have been, but could have helped some) there really is no need to change things up.

Re: That Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Is Definitely Happening as Full Intro Leaks Online

LemyAtom

I NEED THIS NOW!! Everything about this game has shown me that care and attention is being given to the remake. Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game of all time, and the intro gave me several shivers down my spine.

I was 11 when the game originally came out, and that year I remember going into Game with my parents. The shop staff actually advised me against the game due to my age and I'm glad they did actually. We ended up with a PS1 and 6 games (Croc, Crash Bandicoot, Total Drivin' and I think WipEout 2097 and a couple of others) and my mind was blown with 3D graphics. A couple of years later after reading many an article about the game in magazines at the time I finally got the game and my sister and I played through it after school every night for weeks. I cried when that moment happened. I couldn't believe that the ATB and materia systems were so flexible, and a completely new way of playing for me, as I had never played an RPG before. What a way to start. FFVII spurred me into the genre and I remember immediately renting and loving Star Ocean The 2nd Story, Alundra, Wild Arms and many more. Such fond memories.

Re: Site News: Where's Our Call of Duty: Modern Warfare PS4 Review?

LemyAtom

@WetWildWendy whatever. Not sure what you're smoking, but you go ahead and be inflammatory if it helps your ego 😊😂

You told me I was being random, I proved to you I wasn't, you spat your dummy out. Sucks to be proven wrong eh? I had forgotten all about this post and comments! But you're still worrying enough about it even now. Whatever makes you happy. We can agree to disagree. I wish you all the best but perhaps it's better to just not reply, rather than going for personal attacks. Good day to you 😉

Re: Soapbox: PS5 Must Introduce Price Parity Across Regional PSN Stores

LemyAtom

@hoffa007 I'm pretty much the same, although I don't tend to sell the games on as I like keeping the discs, whether they are unpatched or not. People complaining about digital pricing - yes it's unfair and often much higher than physical, but it also means the physical market is still alive and we at least have some ownership of our titles. All digital would be ok with me if we always have access to the games, but there will always be an expiry date to which we are not privy. I don't use Steam but as far as my knowledge of it is concerned, Valve are at least keeping the games on their servers and accessible and have been for years. The issue with consoles is when everyone moves on to the next generation, the demand for the previous drops so low that the platform holder switches off servers and makes the games no longer downloadable.

Re: Microsoft Wants to 'Surprise Sony' with Xbox Scarlett, Devkits are Reportedly Rare and 'Nowhere Near Final'

LemyAtom

I find this news somewhat worrying for Microsoft. They are supposed to be hitting back with lots of games, but very few people have dev kits and we only have a year to go until the next generation hits, whereas sony has lots of studios working on games. What they would be wise to remember is it isn't always about brute force - if you look at the PS2, still the best selling console of all time, it was less powerful than the Gamecube and Xbox, but it dominated by having the best support and games. Granted, Microsoft completely screwed just about everything there was to screw up coming into this generation, but assuming they want to remain relevant they are going to need to pull out all the stops. If it ends up being more powerful than the competition then good for them, but the Xbox One X did nothing to dent the PS4 lead - surely that should tell them something? Microsoft really need to get their act together and fast. Maybe they will end up with some really cool extra bit of tech or power, but they are fighting the momentum of Sony with now well over 100 million PS4's sold and a huge host of extremely capable first party studios and IP. Microsoft need to come fighting out of the gate this time, and with a year left, dev kits really should be in as many hands as possible, whether final or not. We know final specs of consoles can change as late as possible, but the reality is all that will happens is specs will increase if anything, so it would benefit Microsoft to get those kits out and if things get better for devs then they will have a higher ceiling to work with when it comes to optimisation at the end.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Walks Back Critical Comments on VR

LemyAtom

The guy is a total idiot, and will say literally anything to try and pull people to the Xbox brand. He got flack so he U-turned. The guy cannot be trusted and I'm so glad he is in the Xbox and not Sony camp. Going into the next generation is going to be super tough for Microsoft, given how badly they dropped the ball, and it's going to be a big test to see if Phil can gain traction with Xbox. With all the Playstation franchises now, backwards compatibility, 100 million+ players all almost certainly going for PS5 unless Microsoft does some super crazy discount or something to make Xbox somehow more appealing.....yeah, good luck Phil.

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Breaks a Very Specific Sales Record

LemyAtom

Not too hot? Resident Evil 2, Monster Hunter Iceborne, Days Gone, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, Borderlands 3, Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus, Wolfenstein, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Death Stranding, The Outer Worlds, Control, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled, Kingdom Hearts 3, Ace Combat 7 etc etc. There have been quite a few this year?

Re: Koch Media Is 'Exploring Ways to Bring TimeSplitters Back'

LemyAtom

@Churchy yeah, do the trilogy remaster, that would be enough for now. Every time there is talk of Timesplitters it reminds me of my launch day PS2, and me gambling on the game. It was my first ever FPS, and getting used to the dual stick controls took me a long time, but man that and SSX got A LOT of playtime.

Re: Guide: Best PS4 Graphics

LemyAtom

I would have switched GT Sport and DriveClub personally. Nothing from any driving game has been any better yet IMHO. Yes the lighting in GT Sport is great, and the interiors are more detailed, but even the paintwork on the cars in DriveClub just looks so real, to my eyes at least. I won't even get started on those rain effects.

Re: Opinion: Maligned PlayStation Chief Jim Ryan Is Silencing His Critics

LemyAtom

@get2sammyb excellently written peace and bang on the pulse yourself. It's refreshing to finally see Sony not being bullish and downright idiotic at the end of a highly successful generation, like they were at the end of the PS2, or Microsoft were at the end of the Xbox 360. The console game is often a tight race and can swing heavily on decisions that both platform holders have been silly with in the past (and Nintendo for that matter). Hopefully it will continue and they come out strong next generation, and ideally Microsoft does too, because competition is necessary to push things forward and two successful consoles ensure the greatest rewards for gamers. I must admit I'm more excited going into the next generation than any before to see how it plays out; with console graphical gains becoming less and less, innovation is becoming more and more important.
