@Shadow_Beast Quit telling lies. The Last of Us Part 2 has won 90+ GOTY awards that players voted on. It wasn't just media outlets. For the record that's more player voted awards for TLOU2 than Witcher 3 had and guess what? It isn't done adding awards yet. There are still more to come over the next 3 months. Sorry you don't like the game but players have made their voice heard

I love the salt in this comment section. Especially from those who don't know how to read and think that all 261 of the awards were given by "woke" media outlets. Players voted the game as the GOTY in more than 90 of these awards. No other game in 2020 came close to that. Suffice to say that gamers recognize TLOU2 as the best game of the year.

@TheFrenchiestFry The audience is exactly who gave it GOTY in 90+ of these. It didn't win this many GOTY awards from just media outlets.

@mariomaster96 Those were E3 awards and totally different. Gamers themselves chose TLOU2 as GOTY in a ton of these.

Idk but I hope they start talking soon. If games like Ratchet, Horizon 2, or according to them God of War 2 are coming this year then they need to start talking about them and marketing them. Would also be nice to get word on firmware updates for the PS5 to enable external HDD support for PS5 games and fixes for some annoying ongoing issues.

Heck Destruction All Stars is coming out in 2 weeks on PS Plus and they've barely talked about it.

@Col_McCafferty I'm not a sheep. It's just my personal #1 as well because out of any of Sony's games this gen it has the least flaws. The highest highs with none of the lowest lows. Sorry you're so butthurt that people don't think that TLOU2 and Horizon are the best of the best.

The right game won. It's close between TLOU2 and God of War but God of War gets it for really having no flaws to speak of. TLOU2's pacing could be seen as a little off by some people.

@Col_McCafferty You can go pretty much anywhere and people will say God of War was the best PS4 exclusive this Gen. It's far more than just the people on Push Square. It's the highest rated PS4 exclusive of the generation too.

Really tough but I'd go with God of War. TLOU2 would be runner up.

Dang no Returnal on the list? Ya'll sleeping on what will be another great Housemarque title. The top 3 are probably my same top 3 although I really doubt God of War makes it out this year.

@LiterallyDoNotCare As soon as I see someone claiming a game won GOTY for "political" reasons their opinion becomes meaningless to me. That guy can't deal with the fact that tons of people weren't tolerant with the clunky controls and outdated mission design that was in RDR2. It doesn't matter how good your story and characters are when no one wants to suffer through the gameplay to see them. And don't get me started on the mission design that auto fails you as soon as you try to do something outside of what exactly they wanted you to do to finish the mission. Go off the path a little to take another route? Auto fail. Get that early 2000's design out of my games already. Rockstar is stuck in the past.

God of War had really no flaws to speak of. You could nitpick some things but graphics, story, gameplay, characters, voice acting, music, audio design, world design, etc were all 10/10 quality.

@Col_McCafferty This guy still crying about how RDR2 was "robbed" by God of War in 2018? Lol the better game won, get over it.

@Col_McCafferty That's just your opinion. Many of us don't care how good a story or characters are if the game is a slog or chore to play. Don't make me wait for a 5 second animation to open a cabinet and then have to then hold a button to pick up can of beans after that.

God of War is the highest rated PlayStation game this gen and is considered one of the top GOTG.

@Col_McCafferty God of War rightfully won imo. The game was top notch all around while RDR2's sluggish gameplay really turned a lot of people off of it. Has nothing to do with one being open world and the other somewhat linear. The better overall game won.

That other site leaves a lot of stuff out including some sites that they've counted in past years. There is no consistency to what they add.

The fact that your list is missing two of the best PSVR games available, TWD Saints and Sinners and Until You Fall, says a lot about how clueless this site is about PSVR.

@lacerz Really no need to worry about one site's list. TLOU2 has won 175 GOTY awards and counting (with over 50 of them being reader's choice.) Ghost of Tsushima has won 29 (with 6 being reader's choice.) Demon's Souls and Mile Morales have also won a GOTY award. Fans should just be glad it was such an incredible year for PlayStation games.

@Col_McCafferty I mean it was a full in-engine trailer for Horizon. Plus it's been 4 years since the first one. It's no different then them showing that Demon's Souls trailer last June with no gameplay and releasing it 5 months later.

@Col_McCafferty I have almost no doubts Horizon 2 will make it out this year. The one I doubt will release is God of War 2 considering they showed nothing but a logo. Either way should be a great year with Returnal, Ratchet, Horizon, GT7, Deathloop, Ghostwire, and more

Deserved! The game has already won 150+ GOTY awards. Will have a shot at beating the original and Witcher 3 for most awarded game of all time.

TLOU2 for me but 13 Sentinels is up there too. Love the stories in both of them.

29/30 with the only one being wrong was what Youtube channel was Tony Hawk revealed on. I had a feeling it was the one I hadn't heard of but I went with IGN. Would've been perfect if I just went with instinct.

Who the heck is voting for Cyberpunk to give it 5% already? So many more actually finished games that were better on the list to vote for.

Just like it deserved. Great to see it sweep. Sorry but when you compare each part of TLOU2 to every other game this year it was better outside maybe music which funny enough it didn't win.

@Kidfried Don't have the data to back that up? I mean it's pretty obvious. TLOU2 had a double digit lead. Neil then made a tweet saying something like for every vote TLOU2 gets a hater loses their caps lock. That tweet was then posted on TLOU2 reddit and 4chan telling people to vote for Ghost so that TLOU2 wouldn't win. Then all of the sudden Ghost closes the gap and takes a huge lead itself in a short amount of time. You think that is all a coincidence? No it isn't.

@133lkey TLOU2 haters made their choice. Fixed that for you because as I said the evidence is out there and ignoring it means you're part of the problem most likely.

@Daveuppercut Hmm maybe because people who follow Neil maybe actually played TLOU2 and should vote versus scumbags at 4chan who played neither and are just voting because they are against certain things that are in TLOU's story like gay or trans characters. Pretty obvious difference here.

@carlos82 TLOU2 has already won 9 GOTY awards and will win many, many more. This is the first for Ghost and I doubt it will win many more. Those of us paying attention know exactly why it won this one. It's a good game but it isn't GOTY material.

@Rubssi Those weren't as widely advertised as TGA obviously. Just like every other outlets reader's choice won't be as heavily advertised and will likely go to TLOU2 like I've already seen happening.

Too bad it was largely because of 4chan and the hate mob on the TLOU2 reddit that it won. Sad that so many hateful people voted for it not because it was better but because they just didn't want TLOU2 to win.

Like Push Square my site wasn't provided console code either. Every review was done on PC. I don't like all the red flags I've seen around this game. Reviewers weren't allowed to use their own captured footage and no console impressions are out there. I honestly don't trust any of those 10/10 scores I've seen based on the amount of bugs I've seen in leaked footage. Certain people are just marketing this for CD Projekt RED instead of critiquing it like they should be doing.

@Classic_console Yeah it's really a shame that GoT isn't winning based on its own merits but rather because a hate mob on the internet is using it to avoid having TLOU2 win.

Show me another publisher who has had 3-5 games nominated for GOTY in a single year. Just in this fan vote Sony has 3 and honestly Demon's Souls should've been in there over Doom to make it 4. Dreams is also a GOTY caliber game. Just an insane year for PlayStation. They could have two more next year if both Horizon and God of War 2 make it out.

I called Worms Rumble being free on PS5 in that article the other day on this site while everyone else was saying we probably wouldn't get a new game b/c Bugsnax was sticking around until January.

@thefourfoldroot You realize that only a couple million people have PS Now compared to around 50 million who have PS Plus right? JC4 being on PS Plus isn't a bad decision at all.

I too doubt there will be a new PS5 game on Plus this month but if there is it could be Worms Rumble. It launches on Tuesday, December 1 and with it being a multiplayer game putting it on Plus would be a good idea.

I noticed this happening when I had a disc inside the PS5. Every so often it would start doing it. When there is no disc in there though it doesn't do it.
