It's a Sucker Punch game so I was always going to buy it at launch. That said it was nice to see more of the game. Hope it helped get more people interested b/c I've felt like this one didn't have much hype behind it.
If anyone hasn't seen the trailer for this game you need to go watch it. It will sell you on this game right away. I didn't even know this game existed until I saw that trailer the other week and it made it a must buy for me.
I wouldn't worry about most of these. The Medium may be exclusive for a time as Bloober Team is known to release games on Xbox first just like they did Blair Witch. Yakuza and that Bandai Namco game I doubt are exclusive. Yakuza is already confirmed for PS4 but it's possible both of those are just waiting for Sony to do their proper PS5 reveal before coming out and saying they'll be on PS5.
I want a trophy tracking system and a monthly trophy leaderboard similar to what Xbox Live has. Getting more rewards for earning trophies and being able to pin certain ones would be great too.
@OmegaStriver Golf Story is one of them. Many other great ones eventually come to PS4 later but it's usually a year or more after they release on Switch or Xbox.
It doesn't help that all anyone did when Sony offered brand new indie games on PS+ was talk crap about them and the service. I miss getting great new indie games day 1 on PS+ like Outlast, Towerfall, Rocket League, Don't Starve and many others. Most of the time now I own the AAA games that end up on PS+. At least then I was getting new stuff.
This is horrible news. There are thousands of games on PS4 and they are only going to have "maybe" 100 that work at launch. You can't even count on Sony to keep expanding it after that either. Microsoft is going to continue to eat their lunch in this area. What the hell has Sony been doing all these years?
I have many of these games pre-ordered at retail. It would suck if the retail releases got delayed while digital buyers could get the game. Would be even harder to avoid spoilers in that case.
You can bet that there will be reviews of this game that bring up the crunch and knock it for it. I saw it happen to RDR2 and it will happen to this too. It's yet another reason why I just can't bother with reviews for games anymore. Too much personal bs gets put into them now.
Dreams is game of the month for sure. I also enjoyed Zombie Army 4 a lot too and Sega's releases such as Two Point Hospital and the Bayo/Vanquish bundle are worth picking up. Shout out to Darksiders: Genesis as well.
Yumi Yang played a very important role in the development of the latest God of War so I have complete faith she'll do a great job as the new head of SSM. Congrats to her.
It really is sad that Sony never let them make a Sly 5. Now we'll probably never get it. The other problem is if Sony is serious about PSVR going forward they need to start buying more talent. They barely have any studios making PSVR games as it is and they just shut down one of them. Then you have Facebook buying a lot of the best VR developers out there in Owlchemy, Beat Studios, and now Sanzaru.
Good to see them both chart but Dreams at No.8 likely means it only sold a few thousand units which isn't great. That said I think most people will buy that game digitally.
Damn right they are. Naughty Dog is always pushing things forward. I don't think Cyberpunk is going to come close to the storytelling quality that TLOU 2 will have.
@3MonthBeef Sure but again Google is making really dumb moves right now. I mean this game right here is from the studio they just bought and it's not even on Stadia. It doesn't get much more dumb than that.
@3MonthBeef Except Google is no Microsoft and Sony. They are having a worse launch than the Wii U and are known for giving up on projects fast. I wouldn't want to be bought by them knowing full well they may shelve Stadia in a year.
Yep it's a fantastic month and I'm saying that objectively. I personally already own all three and two out of the three digitally. That said I'm not going to complain about that like some people do. I judge the lineup on the quality of the games, not on whether I own them or not. I buy a lot of games so unless Sony is going to go back to giving out indies the day they release I'm probably going to own what they offer.
What is it with this site and making a headline out of anything? Platinum talked to a bunch of people last year. You also don't know whether there was ever any serious talk of them going to Microsoft. Personally I doubt it given what happened with Scalebound and their close association to Sony and Nintendo. Saying Microsoft nearly acquired them is a little off the mark.
@keihtg I'd almost agree with you but then I saw the characters in Bleeding Edge and there isn't any cast more ugly out there than that. Absolutely dreadful designs.
Yeah I wouldn't trust this review. I've seen several other places praising this game with 9's and 10's. After the atrocity that was Push Square's Last Labyrinth review I'll take your opinion with a grain of salt.
@Flaming_Kaiser Exactly. He barely touches on any of the issues in the review. Some puzzles are easy and some are really difficult? How so? Why not tell us? Maybe they aren't difficult for someone else and you just don't understand what you're doing. Just horrible review overall.
What a pathetic review this is. You can tell no work went into this at all. The reviewer just sh*ts on the game and provides no real reason to back up the horrible score given. These short reviews just seem like a way for someone to get a game and quickly put something up with barely any information. If I was the developer I'd never send you a game again.
As usual Push Square doesn't do their research. The game never launched on PC. It was supposed to the same day but got delayed. If you go on the Epic Game Store it clearly says pre-purchase and play on the 29th and that is why the game will now have Cross-Play. It technically already does but hard to play with PC people when it isn't out on there yet.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Except David Jaffe said that the game made a profit. He knows better than anyone how the game did. The issue is that these writers on Push Square and other sites like to just write stuff based on their own assumptions and not bother do any research.
David Jaffe called you guys out on Twitter for calling Twisted Metal 2012 a failure and you deserve it. I'll never understand why some of you game writers assume something about a game without any facts to base it on.
People actually think MediEvil will get higher review scores than Outer Worlds or Modern Warfare? LMAO look I'm getting MediEvil but it wasn't a well received game on PS One and this remake isn't going to change that. It will be a low 70 or high 60 game. The others will likely be in the 80's.
Yeah Sony's track record since 2008 really has been astounding. They've pretty much had a game in the GOTY discussion every year since 2008 minus one or two. Some years they've had multiple like last year where God of War, Spider-Man, and Astro Bot won GOTY awards. That's insane. They've had the overall game of the year 4 times out of the past 10 years. No other publisher/developer has had more than 1 in that timeframe. And you can bet they will be in the discussion again this year with Death Stranding and next year with TLOU 2 and Ghost.
That poll was hard though as I'm fond of many of those games. Went with TLOU over God of War. Sad that The Last Guardian has 0% right now as that game is great.
@Arnna Uh no the reviewer is flat out wrong. You realize that is possible right? This isn't something that is an opinion it is a fact that the online isn't broken. I and others know because we've played online. If it was broken we couldn't play. The reviewer just didn't find people on during his time reviewing it and decided to say it was broken rather than that the online population is hard to find matches for.
I got into full 4 players matches on the day the game launched and several days since then. Did I have to wait awhile at times? Yes I did and that's because not that many people bought the game. But when I found people it worked. Many people on PSNProfiles will tell you the same thing. Some of you don't know what a broken online is. It also didn't help that the game got delayed at the last minute on PC which makes the Cross-Play pointless at this time until it finally does launch sometime in the future.
All that said it's a mute point as the reviewer already edited the review to reflect that the game is dead and not broken.
@hotukdeals That doesn't mean it's broken. It just means that no one else is online. When will you people learn this? It's a game that barely anyone knew about that costs $20. I've found people through matchmaking to play with as well as joined up with people to play it so no it isn't broken. Saying something like COD that has tons of people online yet you can't join anyone would mean it's broke.
OK your claim that the online is busted and doesn't work is a flat out lie. I've played quite a few matches online since the game released and it works fine. The problem is that there aren't a lot of people online to play with which makes finding a match difficult.
There is a big difference between an online mode not working and an online mode being hard to play due to lack of players. That should be conveyed in this review as otherwise people will read this and think there is no point picking it up if the online doesn't even work.
I'm getting tired of this. I'm a huge fan of games like Gang Beasts, Headlander, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle etc. I don't want to have to play future games like this on the Xbox.
@Powerpellet Yep there were some great lesser known titles in May and Push Square instead puts games like Rage 2 that has one of the most boring open worlds and looks like a last gen game in their top picks. Go figure.
@ShogunRok Oh that's right ya'll were one of the only ones who seemed to really dislike it. How in the world something as generic and boring like Rage 2 got a better score from your team than Plague Tale did I'll never understand.
@Gamer83 Same thing I voted for. Everyone pretty much agrees that it's one of the sleeper hits of the year and it got amazing review scores. Yet leave it to this site to put 60 something rated Rage 2 in their top games of the month and leave it out.
