Great week for Indies! This, Statik, and Little Nightmares are all getting great reviews so I picked up all three. Only dilemma is which to try first.
@SPGFan34 i don't know how it's doing review-wise, but it's a really fun little game. A little pricey, but if gamestop is still doing half off (which I grabbed) it's totally worth it.
@Pocky if you have someone to play with Snipperclips is so worth $20. It's a really really fun game with some clever puzzles and mechanics. I'm totally with you on 1-2 Switch and Bomberman though. $50 is way too much for those. Knowing Nintendo they won't be going on sale for a long time.
@Ewflex I totally agree with this. Also, for me at least, I am curious to see if their review of Zelda holds to the same standards they applied to Horizon
@3Above I know it's a different reviewer, but US Gamer gave Double Dragon 4 a 3/5. Looks like I'll have to cancel my pre-order and get DD4 instead, since it's clearly a better game. /s
I love this game. Great review as always, but I think the loot game is fantastic for the cosmetic changes alone. My Shugoki, the sumo samurai, is a scary mofo with a mask that looks like Predator. If you want practice it's a good idea to play multi-player modes against AI to learn the ins and outs of your character as well as your opponents.
I think it's funny that a game like CoD or Battlefield that is a dime a dozen has 5 hour campaigns every single year and that's OK. Meanwhile a game that does something completely new and fresh gets criticized for having a "tacked on" single player because it's a similar length. Anyway, I'm having a blast so far with it and I applaud Ubisoft for taking a risk and trying something new. Maybe people think it's a normal hack n' slash?
Well your "logic" just blew your chances of ever getting a job a Fox News or to ever be taken seriously by the Trump administration. Don't you know we live in a post-truth world now? #AlternativeFacts
@fchinaski it's worth checking out just to play as the new characters. Each has his own abilities and playstyle. Makes the game really dynamic and the possibilities are endless. It's much more than just new tools for Sackboy.
I really love this game. I'm surprised you didn't mention the superb soundtrack. It perfectly complements the art style, world, and overall aesthetic of the game, imo. It's got a great mix of American folk music and blues. Great review as always.
Great news! Can't wait til this drops. I hope the new rigs have different weapons and not just different combos of the other ones already in the game. The new arena is the best news though :bowtie:
After reading the IGN review, I think that guy thought he was playing Dishonored 2 or Hitman. Really you're gonna knock of some points for ludo narrative dissonance? Good thing he never reviewed Uncharted or Tomb Raider. I think he really was mad because he didn't get DH2 for review and got this. PSLS gave it an 8 too. He got to try multi-player but didn't like it
To me it seems loading times are drastically shorter. I keep seeing people say there are no improvements to unmatched games. That is not true, every game I have tried loads faster and is more stable. No dips in FPS during lots of action and such. So far just to get the load times down its been worth it. Even the system stuff is lightning fast, like the library page. I can scroll down and the icons are already there.
I've heard that it will be bundled with the controller. Recently Gamestop had preorders up for $80 on their website, but has since taken the page down. I should've pre-ordered it, but I didn't know it would go away. That may have been a placeholder or something. I believe that it will definitely be bundled because the devs helped create the aim controller with Sony. Also I hear the tracking is top notch as well.
I'm having a real hard time playing anything that's not VR. I love my games, but it's not the same anymore. Not when I can pilot a spacecraft in EVE, or travel through the human body as a microscopic organism in VEV. Bound in VR is amazing too, I'm so glad I waited to play through. Lately I've been having a hoot with Harmonix VR. The Easel is so much fun. I do hope this fades though as I have hundreds of 2D games that I still need to get back to.
I really am loving this game. I totally disagree about the animations though. I think they add to the overall aesthetic and are definitely there on purpose. It's part of the charming art style. I was expecting a button masher like Zombie Vikings, but this game is challenging in all the right ways.

If Nomura was still on the project I would have doubts, but Tabata-San gets things done. I think it will be part of the Prompto DLC

I just fired up Tethered for the first time. Completely blown away. That and EVE for me

Thumper, Eve: Valkyrie, and Bound in VR is what I'm working on. If I do anything non VR this weekend it'll be Battleborn's new DLC
