Origins was a winning formula they can easily go back to if they truly wanted. I don't understand what the big deal is here. Success is not some big mystery ! Just copy what made the series likable to begin with.
Which is probably why I won't be getting it. I really wanted to, but I figure if it ends up as a Microsoft or XBOX exclusive then what's the point of getting invested? Besides, there's a lot of other roleplaying games coming out in the near future (Greedfall, Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines 2, Cyberpunk 2077) to slake my appetite, so I don't think I'll truly be missing out here. But good luck to them regardless.
As long as the 30 hours are impressive and memorable I'm glad. Too many games out now that take over a hundred hours to really complete, but you're doing the same things over and over... which raises the question... did it really need to be this long actually?
You need the right balance, and that's what a lot of devs I think have lost sight of. They're trying to make SUPER long games with a lot of breadth but hardly any depth. Fallout 4 and Assassin's Creed Odyssey come to mind. It may be time to get back to the roots of the roleplaying genre, even if that means shortening the experiences.
And as many have said, there is less and less time to complete these gargantuan titles while being inundated with hordes of new ones. There's an oversaturation of new content for new content's sake these days and the average gamer just doesn't have the time or energy to keep up.
Nah, I'm done. Not worth redownloading to go back to. I Plat'd the game, went through all the DLC and put 210 hours into it. There's just not much substance to it after a while, and no one has time to play a 200+ hour game twice unless it's really special. It was a good ride the first time around, but I will probably never play it again.
@FullbringIchigo One thing they did exquisitely well in Dragon Ball FighterZ is emulating the poses, art, and movements of each character. They really did their homework on that front.
Right now, Killing Floor 2 and Tomb Raider. But I'm also trying to finish Yakuza Kiwami 2. Then I can play The Song of Life and then get Judgment. Hopefully I'll finish all in time before they release the Dragon of Dojima Trilogy.
Currently playing through the Tomb Raider Series and trying to catch up on Yakuza so I can play Judgment later. Gearing up for Control and Greedfall as well. Plus I got Trails of Cold Steel Anthology to wade through and certain other indie titles, lol. Yeah, I'm overloaded right now. :]
Yeah... we all know what this is REALLY about. They even nerfed marauding at sea by lowering the amount AND quality of loot one could acquire... Why?? They want people buying their micro-transactions. That's the reason why they soft-booted it into an rpg...
Just when you thought this small passionate studio was becoming special and unique they get enslaved by corporate. Gotta look up Big Ben and see how bad they are, lol.
@MS7000 I agree. This is why I haven't even touched Judgment, because I wanted to play Yakuza successively and complete Kiryu's story. And now they're going to be getting into Yakuza 7 (which is a turn-based game I believe?), so they're kinda all over the place here...

Re: PS Plus September 2019 PS4 Games Announced
Already have Arkham Knight and don't really care for Darksiders. Oh well...
Re: Control - Was Remedy's Return to PlayStation Worth the Wait?
Lowest score of the game I've seen so far, but not everyone is gonna have the same impressions.

Re: Huge Summer Sale Offers Weeks of PS4 Bargains on US PS Store
And for all those games, there's not really anything I want, at least not now. Got Control and Greedfall coming up anyway.
Re: EU and US PlayStation Store Summer Sales Refreshed with Even More PS4 Games
Will probably wait for Judgment to go down to 20 bucks before I pick it up.

Re: Janemba and Gogeta Officially Revealed for Dragon Ball FighterZ
Let's be honest. Janemba should've been the final villain in Buu's place.

That wasn't his console, it was his little brother's.
Was it really necessary though? I think some people get way too heated over this stuff.

Re: SEGA Press Conference Will Spill the Beans on the Next Yakuza Game in August
Thank GOD ! lol
I wasn't sure if I'd pick it up or not after seeing that footage. 🤣
Not that I'm against turn-based fighting, but I wouldn't want it in a Yakuza game unless it was a mini-game.
Re: Remedy Wraps Up Development as Control Goes Gold
Kinda a wild card this one, but I'm planning on getting it because I generally liked what I saw.
