I wonder how they'll remake Code Veronica and 5 in this easily-offended modern era, considering the former has a cross-dresser as a villain and the later has a white protagonist killing black enemies.
Woke Twitter will go insane, while 99% of the rest of the world still enjoys the originals just fine and don't see anything offensive about it.

@Breekhead remaking or remaigining old stories for a modern "audience" (or critics) nowadays tends to lead to disappointments. The story of the original RE2 holds up pretty well even for today's climate, but SH2's story pushed the limits with their themes of rape, femicide, fat jokes, sexualization of the female body, etc which is something that woke Twitter is against and they want everything to be tame and taboo nowadays.
So yeah, being a Western company developing this title as opposed to a Japanese one who have more freedom and are less poisoned about "not offending anyone" like Western companies are, I highly doubt the story of this remake will be even close to being as good as the original ones, they're going to censor things and play it safe a lot, which sucks.

I can see Capcom being afraid of remaking Code Veronica and 5 since one features a cross-dresser villain and the other plenty of black people as the villains. That's something modern-day Twitter would freak out about, they only want white straight people to be the villains nowadays.
