Re: No, Sony Didn't Pay for Performance Parity in Resident Evil Village on PS5, PS4

So this outrage is directed at Sony for being prepared to spend money when MS weren't? Or have I misunderstood? I expect MS could have beaten Sony's bid had they wished (what with having access to most of the money in the world that isn't Jeff Bezo's). Shouldn't the Xbox gang be asking why MS didn't secure them exclusively...or just bought a copy for every Xbox owner? These console manufacturers are all generous benevolent charities after all!

We will have to see how this develops.

Gamepass is all well and good but like someone (more than one) already pointed out there is a significant risk this goes the way of Netflix. The odd AAA and a lot of filler to add 'value'.

Stadia is already going that way. The monthly games are the odd headline grabbing AAA here and there bulked out by a ton of random indie stuff (not saying that is bad, some of the games are cool but they are still filler).

I can see Gamepass meaning that instead of the labours of love (yes I am aware of crunch but even so) we see now like GoW, LOU, Halo, Forza or GT we get increasingly truncated games with an ongoing reduction in quality and scope.

I hope I am wrong.

If Sony think subscription isn't sustainable Netflix and Disney+ suggest that financially it is. Whether quality is sustainable is another question.
