Re: Game of the Decade: Destiny Paved the Way for Games as a Service

@kyleforrester87 I will admit I am kinda sad that I didn't experience Destiny during it's hay day but after putting down WoW a few months before it came and my life getting hectic I don't regret the decision too much it's just one of things that maybe I should have tried it but then again I knew I probably would have been hooked.

@Gamer83 So what does it matter what casual or for that case anyone thinks? We know the truth, Sony doesn't owe anyone an explanation. As I said it's simple MLB didn't want the game just tied to Sony systems anymore yeah Sony could have said no but where would that have left them?

Honestly I am glad that they are going multiplat instead of saying no and them either 2K or EA getting the MLB license and messing it all up.

@Gamer83 "If MLB The Show can land on Xbox, why can't God of War?' Imo, it's a legit question"

Not really the circumstances are different. Sony owns the rights to Kratos, and other characters. Sony don't own the rights to the names or likeness of say New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox or J.D. Martinez or Stephen Strasburg the MLB and MLBPA does. Let's see how profitable The Show would be without those names.

So really it's not a legit question. People need to stop and think before assuming.

I actually welcome this change. It's time to put these silly console wars that have been going on since the days of Atari and Intellevision to bed. I for one never liked that which is why I have always owned multiple consoles each generation.

Console wars are just an ugly side of gaming that really is immature and just ruins gaming.

So what if Xbox and Switch owners can play God of War, MLB: The Show or Uncharted on the Xbox or Switch orPlaystation owners can play Halo, Rare Replay, Mario and Zelda games on the PlayStation.

Why deny people a.great game just because they can't afford all the consoles or just want to play on a console that is the most comfortable for them?

Re: Sony to Develop Critically Acclaimed MLB The Show Series for Other Consoles

Tasuki

@Gamer83 It's really the only possible scenario I see. I mean why else would Sony let one of their biggest exclusives go? Without the licensing The Show would be a no show. Look what happened to the NFL2K games when they lost the NFL licensing. Even though they were the superior football game without the licensing their sales went down

Well I was pretty much an established gamer before the PlayStation hit the scene having grown up with the original NES, and then later the SNES and Sega Genesis. Just before the PlayStation came out I had a huge decision to make to I get a N64 or the Playstation? See before that every console I got was a gift either a birthday or Christmas gift this console was going to be the first console I bought on my own since I just got my first job at my local Kmart back then.

Long story short after hearing that one of my favorite gaming franchises made the jump to the PlayStation (Square with Final Fantasy VII) I knew that I had to have a PS, that and my brother just got a N64 for his birthday. So I ended up buying FFVII first before getting the console at the time my friend had a PS so I would go over to his house every weekend to play FF VII for a few weeks. Eventually one glorious payday I walked into my Circuit City and bought my own PS.
