I used to think Nintendo were stingy with their classic games, until I became a PS Plus premium member! Trophies are always good, maybe roll games out with them already added though
@kyleforrester87 sadly seems to be how "journalism" works these days. Skim through a press release (or in the case of Disney/Marvel a shareholder meeting, or an interview with a musician) and work out how many articles you can wring out of it before the clicks dry up
I replaced my Plus subscription with Now about a year ago, and I haven't looked back. Most Plus games appear on Now shortly after, and I prefer single player games so don't miss the online.
Only issue is, my kids downloaded a Lego game to my hard drive and it got taken off of Now. When they went to play it again, it took them to the store and let them purchase it on my paypal for £54.99, without putting in my password (as I have to do when I purchase things normally)
Zero Dawn was a real treat for me, but then Spider-Man was joyous from start to finish. However persona 5 is my outright favourite (though if they port it to switch I won't be sad)
The surge looks like it could kill a few hours, though I seem to recall that the main complaint about it was the massive difficulty spike just as it gets good
I liked it, and though it didn't hold much interest as a non vr owner I do think it's good to move away from the "who wins E3" nonsense of the past. Some Nintendo directs hold no interest, but I watch because the ability to suddenly surprise your audience with something they didn't expect is a better idea than big announcements at E3 for games that are barely in development, just for the extra press coverage
I'm tempted by this despite trying and failing several times to get into their previous work (just never found the time to get good, they're in my "to finish" pile along with 60 plus others!). This one's aesthetic appeals to me more than the rest
@callmegil @barfootoo I'd understand that if they'd said "our friends at StudioMDHR" but this seems like a bigger deal, even if it's just "traditional" console companies declaring their friendship as a line in the sand to the new guys. Nobody wants to be 1998-2002 Sega here
I quite like what Microsoft are doing. Nintendo has a market that isn't just the traditional "what fps is it?" Gamer they used to target, so their games will suddenly gain a new audience... Whether that audience will be receptive is yet to be seen.
Xbox live as a multiplatform service feels more like an attempt to derail Google and Amazon's streaming launches than an attack on Sony. As someone who's never owned a Microsoft console, I'd be tempted by Xbox as a service over someone new.

I'd love Sony to join in, get PS Now on Switch!
